Man you are all over the board. First you are guaranteeing wins now you are selling the whole team down the river. The portal is not magical. We have had plenty of transfers.

We didn't get enough. This team is lacking real talent across the board. The o line is soft. Roberts and Sanders is who I said they were. For some reason, CCS remains loyal to a few more dogs.

Macon has lived up to the billing and why not get some more talent in here? Studstill and Sails are involved alot and Hampton is missing in action.

We really need some running backs too!

Go track down the offensive line and defensive line that left the state and get back to the me

Well start naming the big time ol playing right now for out of state schools making impacts. Then compare it to the number of D1 scholarships given. Then you realize the percent of interior LINEMEN is very small considering the number of scholarships.

The interior linemen aren't the problem UF, FSU, and Miami usually have very good DTs that come from inside the state. The issue with the OL is out of state programs have been cherry picking the top flight kids at those spots. Your arguenent/question was "Is Florida high school ball overrated?" that is a resounding no. They produce the most blue chips, and are usually neck and neck with the usual top suspects for number of fbs players that sign every year. This next stat is why you are silly. Texas has 160000 kids playing high school ball, California has 90000, And Florida has around 40000. There's a deeper concentration of athletes in FL. There's a reason why every program from USC, to Bama, to Oregon recruit Florida, and it's not because the football is overrated. This is a silly argument.

And you are deflecting OL and you are only addressing Miami getting a few DL. True, that the best is getting picked, but what can this program do to get better DL and OL. I gave Florida props for skilled positions, we are getting killed on recruiting from mostly Florida on the big boys.

  4. This is not to suggest that there aren't a number of good players that come out nationally, but consider this.

UF v. UM ...THAT was a wash.

    Osu and Fau... a drubbing

    FSU V. BOISE.

UCF V. FAMU... THE EQUIVALENT OF US PLAYING WISCONSIN.

UF IS RANKED 8 AND DID NOT LOOK GOOD. THEY  GET THE CREAM OF THE CROP IN REGARDS TO FLORIDA HS PLAYERS ALONG WITH UM AND FSU.

ALL THE THREE MAJORS WILL NOT BE ON TITLE CONTENTION IN THEIR CONFERENCE AND PROBABLY THEIR DIVISIONS. LOOK AT THE LAST 5 YEARS OF EACH PROGRAM.

C WENT OUT OF THR STATE TO GET QBS AND GET SOME KEY PLAYERS.

WE HAD A BAYMADE CAMPAIGN AND CAN'T BEAT OURSELVES.

THIS BOARD HAS TALKED ABOUT HOW BAD THE FLA. HS LINE PLAY IS. IT'S EVIDENT AT ALL THE MAJOR SCHOOLS IN THE STATE.

DOES THE STAFF NEED TO GO OUT OF STATE TO FIND INTERIOR LINEMEN AND SELL THE IDEA OF FLORIDA SPEED FOR SKILLED POSITIONS?

Got beat by a better team.

As for #4 I question your football acumen. Defenses blitz on passing plays.  Wisconsin ran the ball down our throats.  There were some corner blitzes but tough to do vs a running team.

So I guess you didn't watch the game...they also threw the ball and no one got near the qb and our nfl cornerback Hampton was piss poor in coverage. If you blitz more it would eliminate a few of those rb passes that gashed us. Rb would have to stay in and pick up the blitz. Their qb was not a great passer but anyone can complete a pass with 3 calendar days to throw.

Other than Macon, or LBs were getting sucked in and couldn't fill the gaps or clean up. I'm too embarrassed to talk about them in pass coverage.

The rotation of personnel was garbage. Macon should only be pulled out on a stretcher. Mims and Boyles were taking picnics. Roberts and Sanders can run...but are who I said they were, 1aa caliber. Cannot get off blocks and tackle. Our interior D line are choir boys... put waller in there and tell him to be nasty...and Williams.

how am I over my head? this magical portal you speak of is nothing more than a database of players that want to transfer. guess what? kids transferred all the time even back in the good ole Leavitt days.

Until the magical portal, you could not directly contact players that wish to transfer while they were enrolled at another school.

The duke players just showed up....along with butterfingers McDoom.

  7. CCS needs to become an old school coach.

    1. Needs to turn off the music at practice. Clearly the kids are not hearing a **** thing being taught or the coaches are forgetting what to say while jamming to Snoop.

    2. The d jumping up to celebrate after a play when you are getting your butt whipped or have been on this slide is ridiculous. Act like you have been there before and just do your job.

    3. Open up competition... surely there are better players hiding on the bench or in the stands somewhere.

    4. CCS needs to take over the D. BJM is not dialing up any blitzes and offenses are pimp slapping us on 3rd down.

    5. Question thr manhood of both lines on a daily basis.

he brought in 2 DL transfers from Duke who were supposed to shore up our line. He dismissed them as bad apples. Fact is 8 of the 11 players he dismissed were kids he brought in.

Its obvious you are over your head.

I'm going to base these grades on the first 3 quarters, because the 4th quarter, both teams looked ready to go home, and I left with 8 minutes left.

Blake Barnett F+  The first quarter, our lack of offense was not his fault. He was crisp throwing the ball considering how bad the line was playing with no running game, and one of his INT's was the receivers fault. The F+ grade is mostly because he looked like he really gave up once the game was out of reach and things weren't going well. His accuracy fell off, and he was visibly flustered on the sidelines. If we are going to improve, we need to see more heart out of this guy. (Didn't see McCloud but heard he balled out)

RB F+ Cronkrite didn't have many holes to run through, but wasn't running through contact whatsoever. Not a great night for someone with NFL aspirations. As for Sands, I've never been a fan.

WR F-  Worst unit on the field. Where was Terrance Horne? Either way, St. Felix was the only one who didn't embarrass himself last night. Phillips and McDoom were awful. Wilcox also helped out with a drop.

OL F-  Also the worst unit on the field. You can have two worst units right? Terrible in pass protection, and worse in run blocking. Our RBs averaged 1 ypc.

DL C-  Giving these guys a C- is relative to how much better they did than the rest of the team, rather than actually playing well. Reeves and Livingstone both had sacks and 2 TFLs, while the line overall wasn't getting as manhandled as you might think considering how well Wisconsin ran the ball.

LB D-  Patrick Macon had 15 tackles, a sack, a TFL, (and I believe a FF?). He is the real deal, while the rest of the unit is complete trash. Missing Sawtelle hurt more than expected, even if Corey Lea thinks he isn't worthy of a P5 defense. While that may be true, the rest of these guys aren't worthy of starting on FCS teams (at least not yet).

CB D  They weren't tested in coverage too much, but at least wrapped up after giving up catches. Hampton and Sails were not exposed like the next unit.

Safeties F-  They continually over committed to try and stop the run. They would be gobbled up by linemen, and if they stayed back, Taylor would run right by them, regardless of if they had the angle or not. Again, we didn't see much of them in pass coverage, but what we did see are guys who looked slow and take bad angles. That is a really bad combination.

General thoughts: I liked that Bell didn't give up in his play calling. Last year, we would have punted on 4th down every time. Though the fake punt looked pretty bad and telegraphed. Stupid false start penalties are a staple in the CCS era. Defensively, I just don't know how we can be so depleted at LB and Safety year after year. This game was tough to watch. Hopefully Horne and Ford come back and help give the offense a spark. We also need to get Wilcox more involved.

Macon is much better than Sawtelle and it's not even close. Sawtelle would have been murdered at any lb spot last night.

Hampton is way overrated and consistently was beat, while holding the receivers.

I would like to see Burnett and Evans see some action. Robert's is just what I said he was...1AA.  Sanders can run, but couldn't tackle a fat accountant in a phone booth.

Sawtelle and Atterbury should be carrying water. Should move Hobble into the lineup.

Maybe see what Jones or Thaxton can do at a backer in the 4-3.

Can't judge Cronkrite due to the fact the defenders beat him to the handoff.

Need to recruit the trenches in Ga., too much spread played in Florida and the players are not nasty when you get the recruits left for this level.

Charlie just ain't getting it done on personnel decisions. He should have hit the portal harder. However, we will still win 10.

  10. Get over it!!! 11 or 12 more games left. Usf need to quit pretending like this is an elite job and program.

Going forward, need to reshuffle the ol and try Hobble or Blanchard. Attebury needs to be reassigned to assistant equipment dude.

We found the answer at middle linebacker and maybe need to quit rotating so much on D.

Hampton is way overrated and reminded me way too much of last year's undesirable. I would like to see Burnett get a shot.

Macon made his mark as well.as slade.

V.DAVIS got sucked in a few times.

    Mims looked awful.

Not sure what to think about Sanders and Robert's being counted on.

McDoom has hands like a digital clock

Phillips and Clerveaux should be bumped down in to rotation.

I would like to see McCloud get more snaps.
