  1. This offense is simple because it only uses half the field. There are not that many plays and is predicated on pace. I think he would be fine because there will be lots of bombs downfield and run til you stop it.

I like the way you snuck in the assumption that Barnett will start.

He was not brought in to sit the bench. You don't take a guy who was in the running to start at Bama as a RS freshmen and a 5 star recruit and not give him a chance to start and play in G5. This kind of talent or potential is does not sign G5 out of high school... well maybe ED Oliver and very few others.

Obviously...but maybe you're new here & didn't know that we brought it 4 star Woulard at QB, and he never played a down.

I have to ASSUME he eventually starts, but I would not bet anything significant that he trots out first v Elon.

Two different animals... Q was entrenched and UCLA is not Bama. This kid is eligible and will be the starter. Too many tools to not start over the others.

  4. I know most of people think Gilbert is an idiot and he is the reason for last year's two losses...blah blah blah.

I know that he is capable and with Barnett or either the other two backups can really put up 45 per game. We have good weapons out wide....a very good RB room, which I think is the key.

I think if we can score early on GT that we can beat them...they will have a hard time matching us point for point. We will win that game by 2 td's.

No, I get your point you're mad that Dakota banned you from 247 so now you're here.   The coverage everywhere for the camp but the official USF football stuff is all minimal and not in depth.   You're here with an ax to grind, we get it.

@Triple B There is definitely more to the story but nobody here gives a crap..

No axe to grind..not here because I was banned from there. Was a member here while a member there. I just like talking football. On that front, do you see how many posts they get a day this close to the season? Very few posts!!!!

There isn't much more to see than that....Even the official USF coverage/propaganda wing doesn't give you that much more and it's sponsored and approved by the athletics department when it goes out and they have the best access.   You may have been around Strong since his first game but I have been around USF and its sports coverage since strong was still an assistant coach.   If you had been around USF as long as we have you would know this is the least amount of info we have had coming out of the program since the CJL years, and I would say it's probably even less than that......

You are missing my point. I am saying that the Dakkota Watson character does not report much on Stampede. His write ups, in particular, are less informative than any other outlets, if you can find any info at all. No big deal. The season is just 2 weeks away and we can see all the speculation for ourselves.  It probably will start off like

"Gilbert is an idiot...we only put up 50 on Elon"

"BB is not better than Kean...he only threw for 399"

    I think he's G5Bull from 247....

    You are correct.....

This is 100% false.   We know so little because there is very little media availability and only a limited window to watch practice.  CCS keeps the program locked down much tighter than the previous two regimes.  This is why almost every outlet except for the official USF outlet all pretty much have the same limited info when it comes to what's going on at camp while you see a much more varied output when it comes to covering recruiting between all of the third part outlets (247, TDS, Rivals, SPT, TBT etc).  The official USF stuff is about the only camp coverage that shows some variance/more depth and the reason for that should be obvious.....

I have been following CCS since his first game at Louisville. I realize he keeps things quiet, but as I stated, there are very few things that are reported even during the media period. Just short tid bits. You see 30 mins of practice and all you can say is ..."Kean had a nice pass, O made a seamless handoff....BB is faster than we thought."
The quality of the report is glaring...

Nope...That is truthfully what happened. A few of those guys got together and begged for me to be banned. In addition, the moderator got mad because I educated him on the NCAA rule on transferring from D1 to D1AA. We are in that generation where a pencil pusher feels like he knows it all and has consistently shown that he really doesn't know football at a high level. He has an agenda and everyone must sub come to group think. Just look at the Stampede Board...O in depth reporting. Just little tid bits. We know nothing about what's going on now because the beat writers aren't getting info out.

  9. It's funny how I was banned from Stampede for saying that CCS was going to get a GT in the spring. Some folks here also post there and went nuts and put forth an effort to get me banned. When BB got here I said he will start and immediately that pencil neck moderator banned me. I think the line that broke the camel's back was.."You are not in the mix to be the QB at Bama as a RS freshmen if you are not that good....this guy can fling it all over the yard and K and O are just not at that level." I also said that CCS would try to find a lineman and a LB...well I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Am I missing some Georgia Tech connection?  Because as far as I know he's never had anything to do with Tech.

It's close enough to Florida and a P5 job in the ACC. All the premium schools have just renewed contracts or have new coaches. GT is less likely to look at his age or the Texas debacle and run. He would kill recruiting in Fl. and Ga. The only SEC job that may open will be KY. and I don't know if he would go there because of the recruiting.

  11. I doubt if he would take the Maryland Job if it comes available...but if GT comes open, he is good as gone. I don't know of any other job in the P5 he would take...Maybe Colorado, but doubt that. NC State would have been a real threat, but that is done. UNC will not part ways is Fedora. New coaches at Miss ST., Ole Miss and Arky...LSU will not consider him once Ed O is fired.

  12. I mentioned that CCS would go after a grad transfer at the end of the season and was banned from the stampede. lol

Barnett will win the job because in all things considered, he highest upside. You are not in the hunt at bama as a rs fr if you are not a stud. This guy can throw it and run if needed.

Kean and Ola will serve as clipboard holders to a guy that will pass for 4k this year.

  13. Make no mistake about it...Barnett will start. Kean and O may play against Elon in the second half. CCS will say that he feels more comfortable with the stars given to Barnett out of high school and the experience gained while being at Bama and ASU.

In other words, he didn't recruit the other two. After watching spring ball he had to get help at the position.
