    THE **** PENALTIES!!!!

We are up by twenty in the third and the offense is moving along as well as I have seen all year then BOOM, chop block. Puts us in a throwing situation and where Q throws an interception. The penalties this year have come at the absolute worst time (goal line). It is amazing how the offensive line has the brain farts.

I agree that penalties have been the biggest problem for this team and a lot of them can be avoided. The chop block calls last night were tough though. On that particular play that you mentioned, the tackle fell and the guard pancaked his guy over top of him, it happens. Chalk that up to bad timing. Overall though, the team has to be better at keeping hands out of face masks and out out jerseys. At least we are lining up right now.

Completly and totally agree but my Reese post was me reporting on what he said and not an opinion on it (indeed I could care less what he thinks). Just thought I would stir up all the media heaters on this board

I agree, I don't think any of it matters because the media will always find a flaw(or ignore a flaw) to boost their narrative. Whatever that might be.

I would love to see a complete game with limited penalties.  Too many games we have made sloppy mistakes.  Sadly this is all that the media remembers of us.  Go Bulls!  Please win.

Would love to see this too. I just don't think we can win with the media, they seem content to make us their reluctant favorite of the G5. I don't think it helps when Frost is a Darling either. They would love to see him pull the "upset" they have been calling for all year long.

Probably best case scenario. Entertaining game. Houston puts up a good showing against a ranked team and AAC keeps a third team ranked. I also think Navy will be close to if not ranked if they upset UCF.

But UCF would likely drop out.

They probably would drop out. Honestly if they lose one AAC game, I hope they lose two. That way if we win out, we can go into that game knowing we have won the division.

  5. I don't think I have ever felt as if we could lose any game this season at any point. SJSU was a little rough but I figured Q would find his rhythmm and get the offense moving which he did. With that being said, I don't think I would opening up the offense if I felt in control early in the season. Our big games are back loaded on the schedule this year so settling for three and saving our aces in our sleeve seems like the best decision to me.

While I can see the value of a battle of unbeatens for all the G5 marbles, I would dislike if UCF gets a College Gameday to their campus before we do. Luckily it's a Friday game so its not likely a risk.

They can also be the first to lose with Gameday on campus. But at this point, I don'e see this game getting the Gameday call. the Iron bowl looks to intriguing

  7. I would go with both teams being pretty equal, with us having the X factor in Flowers. Milton maybe good but he just doesn't have the experience that Flowers has. I know they have the SOS edge, but looking at the teams they have played, I don't see anyone who can run the ball like we can, or anyone that rush the passer like we can with only 4. Both of those things are going to affect how UCF plays and how they adjust will by key.

P.S. If Flowers and MVS can find some chemistry on the deep ball its game over for anyone on our schedule until the NY6. It's not our only missing piece but its one that could add 13-20 to every game.

  8. The two stats that will matter the most in the Navy and Memphis game are time of possession, and turnovers. I know Navy will win TOP even if they lose but if they dominate it like they can, there won't be much memphis can do. If Memphis  wins both, they win hands down.

I think that is normally the case. I really don't know if there are exceptions to that rule.

A win by Memphis [who beat UCLA at home] over a ranked Navy will make the UCF win over them look even better. Memphis is receiving votes in both polls, but it is doubtful that they can gain enough more votes to be ranked. I assume Navy would drop out of the polls. Memphis will likely be ranked if they can win also @Houston next week, assuming Houston wins @Tulsa where they are a 13.5 point favorite.

IMO, our best scenario is to have Memphis beat Navy and then have Houston beat Tulsa and Memphis. That might be enough to get Houston ranked when we play them the following week at home.

I see that being the best case for USF. I'm just leaning towards Navy in this one. By every stretch we talked about there isn't a very large gap between the two teams and in games like that I usually take the team with the most discipline. Navy will take care of the ball and run it efficiently so I like them in this one.

I don't think it really matters which one comes out of the west, as long as they are ranked. I would rather it be an undefeated Navy team but I think the only two undefeated teams in the conference will settle it out on black Friday. I also have no trust in Houston as long as Ed Oliver is hampered with the MCL sprain. I know he played last week but it was SMU, I don't they can hold up if he isnt 100%

  10. I like adding air force and Army. That would put the commander and chief trophy completely within the conference and for some reason I like that.

As for the other two, I like the Idea of adding some west coast teams. Maybe SDSU or Colorado state, but I also think it would be interesting to add North Dakota State University. I know they are FCS but they have a decent reputation against FBS schools and the Fargo Dome is an awesome site for Conference games to take place

Well, we don't currently have any four star players. I'm pretty sure that there are some of those who are considering USF, but might be waiting until February to see what happens with CCS.

I could also see some of the few higher rated three star commits we do have might wait, not only to see what happens with CCS, but because they are hoping for more and better P5 offers.

The one thing you should realize is that schools are filling up very fast. USF already  has 25 commits. So, a commit would be taking a big chance by NOT signing early with us. He could very quickly lose HIS spot, if he waits and there is no guaranty he will end up in a better situation.

That is why I still expect most of our 25 commits to sign early.

I can see that point,   It all really comes down to how these kids have been recruited. Are they committed because of CCS, or are they committed because they believe USF is the best place for them to be. Unfortunately, unless you were in the meeting and the one on one talks between the recruiter and the athelte, you can't know for sure what is being said. I just don't believe that USF is a destination spot for the average high school athlete creating a hesitation to sign early because once you sign, its official, no matter what strong or the other assistance do.

There could be an argument made that Strong (if he is secretly considering leaving) would hold off on pushing the early signing in hopes of bring recruits with him.

    I can see your point.

However, there will always be talk about CCS possibly leaving for a P5 school.

I'm sure that was already considered a possibility by just about every recruit before they committed to USF.

You can say the same thing about the UCF coach. He's also been mentioned for some P5 schools. In his case, it wasn't so obvious. Now, their commits have to give that some thought.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the early signing period.

I agree, they did have to know that CCS could leave before committing but as long as they are only verbal they can leave as soon as strong does. So committing at this point is one thing, but enrolling early is a step that I don't believe the top ones will take. Granted that still does leave a number of other recruits who might not have the same options and would stay regardless of coach. I also believe that school in Orlando will lose their top guys as soon as Frost in gone too.

I honestly thought that would have been the best move for him out of high school.

I didn't follow him to closely, even though he was the top QB, but I did find it a little odd that he would cross the country. Especially with the way UW. was trending. But how about UGA getting all these top QB's the last couple years? They must know something about getting them in.
