I have never understood why schools don't sell a bunch of 5.00 tickets to families. The game is scheduled, all your fixed costs are covered ( I am assuming) adding in another 5,000 paying fans, even at cheap rates  only helps to sell drinks, popcorn  etc.

Exactly. How many kids are just going to sit there and watch the game?

I don’t have kids but I’m assuming they would want at least a hot dog and coke.

The Thank You Fans offer seemed pretty generic, but I get it. If pricing for families is really an issue, why don't they just sell offer up 2-3000 per game at $ 10.00 each? The team to the east has a program, 2 adults, 2 kids. 299.00. These packages sell pretty well. That's about 11.00 per seat per game.

Yeah I didn’t quite understand the thank you fans deal. I am assuming they are just picking a section and selling it at 15 bucks but that still only helps that one game.

The 299 deal is a better deal for families by far. You have to get ticket prices around 10 bucks a pop to reallly help them out.

So he is coming back? What is the deadline for that to happen?????

Apologies, its July 6th. We should know something soon

SIGNING DEADLINE: Teams must sign drafted players, other than those who were college seniors, by July 6. Players who have exhausted their college eligibility have until one week before 2019 draft to sign.

Maybe, but USF like many schools that are not sold out does have some pretty sweet pricing for certain games:

    Special Ticket Offers

Even those 15 dollar deals are over 20 once you factor taxes and fees. You also have to be a part of something special to get to go to one game.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Whiskey barrels were piled in a mountainous heap Wednesday after the rest of a whiskey storage warehouse collapsed in Kentucky, nearly two weeks after part of the decades-old structure came crashing down. In a statement, the company said its employees "worked quickly to contain the spill" Wednesday, with none of the new runoff entering any waterways.

Thanks man, I have mixed emotions on this...

Yeah Idk either. I know it would best for him to take the 2.2, I just don’t see that number rising in a year and there’s a lot of risk involved in leaving it on the table. I also don’t know what him coming back does for us. I know he still throws hard but unless the bull pen improves and we find another AP, idk how many wins he’s worth. I still would like to him on the backend but he would never go for that. There has also been some implications in this thread and others that he may not be the most team oriented person.

All that said, if he turns into a guy that can throw a consistent 7 innings. Then everything changes for him. Maybe this draft was the kick in the pants to make those mechanical changes and throw more strikes.

  7. Yeah I think total cost of attending a NCAA or pro game is overlooked by JK. Especially when trying to bring a family. After fees and taxes it’s hard to find a ticket for less than 20 bucks out the door. And that’s not including anything other than admission. A family of 4 is 100 deep just to sit in the nose bleeds with no food or drink.

Draft signings: 6 first-rounders remain unsigned

Rays: Shane McClanahan, LHP, South Florida
No. 31 overall, pick value: $2,224,400

Projected a top-10-overall choice before fading late in the college season, McClanahan can receive $3,023,380 without costing the Rays a future first-rounder. That's $798,980 more than his pick value, and the gap between the two sides is nearly as large. Because he's a redshirt sophomore, he'll still have some leverage if he returns to South Florida for next season.

  9. USF BASEBALL SUMMER BALL UPDATE

TAMPA, Fla., JULY 2, 2018 – With the calendar flipping to July, summer ball is heating up and members of the USF baseball team are showing no signs of cooling down.

Redshirt freshman catcher Jake Sullivan (Tampa) played in five games last week for the Savannah Bananas of the Coastal Plain League. He went 5-for-14 with a double, home run, five RBI and three runs scored. Sullivan had a homer, two RBI and two runs in game one of a Saturday doubleheader. He is batting .403 with 13 RBI and 14 runs scored in 19 games so far this summer.

Sophomore Carson Ragsdale (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) appeared in two games out of the bullpen last week for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League. He logged two innings on Thursday, faced the minimum and struck out four. Ragsdale holds a 0.69 ERA in nine appearances with 23 strikeouts.

Junior Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) played in six games with the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League last week. Genord hit in the last four games of the week, going 6-for-17 in from June 28 – July 1. He hit a double and a home run and finished with two runs and five RBI. Genord is hitting .267 with four doubles, two home runs, nine runs and 16 RBI.

Redshirt sophomore lefty Connor Eason (Chesapeake, Va.) appeared in two games with the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League. He totaled 3.2 innings pitched allowing three hits and a run with five strikeouts. Eason tossed two perfect innings on Friday, striking out three.

Juniors JD Dutka (Suwanee, Ga.) and Kyle Phillips (Orlando) will also be competing this summer. Dutka will be playing in the Sunbelt League in Georgia and Phillips will be in the Florida League.

  10.

Oregon State comes back to take the last two and the series. That team can really hit and Adley Rutschman will probably be preseason favorite as nexts years 1,1. He's a beast.

He also used to be the kicker for ORegon st. before dedicating to baseball full time this year. His highlights include tackeing Christina McCafery and recovering his own on-side kick. He also booted a 63 yarder in high school (vid below)

    Not a bad athlete.

So coming back is a gamble but a more calculated one.

How often does that gamble pay off for a pitcher? Especially one that has already had one TJ

That family thing I can totally understand. If you go an entire season with strike throwing issues, its because you aren't making adjustments so you must think the problem isn't you.

Any idea how much she makes?

    http://www.blackenterprise.com/wnba-salaries-nba-salaries-earn/

"While all ballers dream of one day playing professionally, the average WNBA rookie can expect to earn a disappointing $36,500 for the year, and WNBA players with at least three years of experience earn a minimum of $55,000 per year. Overall, the average WNBA player is paid around $72,000."

"Nneka Ogwumike, the reigning WNBA MVP, who is one of the highest paid WNBA players, earned a mere $95,000 in 2016—the maximum salary in the league."

    This would suggest around 36,000.
