I doubt it would be true academic/GPA issues because that usually gets you suspended for a semester/until the GPA is back where it needs to be.  This sounds to me like it was more likely violation of a team academic rule rather than eligibility related issue.  I think it would be more  like violating a team rule for class and/or study hall attendance.

Yeah I posted earlier in the thread that it felt like a skipping summer class situation. But even still, if true, don’t you want your QB to have that first one in and last one out type of dedication to their craft? School is part of that craft. Not saying the BK isn’t a good QB or couldn’t be a great a QB. Just saying, it’s a little concerning if during your most important summer ever, you decide to sleep in or take a trip to the beach instead of class.

S/O to jk with a use of a double negative.

The Cleveland Indians owe part of their 7-4 defeat to the Cincinnati RedsTuesday to a miscommunication between manager Terry Francona and pitching coach Carl Willis.

According to The Athletic's Zack Meisel, Francona intended to bring Oliver Perez into the game in the ninth inning, only for Willis to mistakenly call Dan Otero down from the bullpen:

  3. USF BASEBALL SUMMER BALL UPDATE

TAMPA, Fla., JULY 9, 2018 – Summer ball leagues are rolling on into July, and a fifth USF baseball player has joined a roster.

Junior second baseman JD Dutka (Suwanee, Ga.) is playing in the Sunbelt League for the Norcross Astros, though he has not yet appeared in any games.

Sophomore righty Carson Ragsdale (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) appeared in two games out of the bullpen last week for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League. He pitched 2.2 innings, allowing one run with a combined four strikeouts. Ragsdale is fourth on the team with a 1.14 ERA in 15.2 innings. He has 27 strikeouts to eight walks.

Junior Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) played in six games for the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League last week. Genord finished with a run scored, a homer and five RBI. He went 2-for-4 with a run scored, his third home run of the summer and three RBI on Sunday against the Albany Dutchmen.

Redshirt freshman catcher Jake Sullivan (Tampa) played in just one game last week for the Savannah Bananas of the Coastal Plain League. Redshirt sophomore lefty Connor Eason(Chesapeake, Va.) did not appear in any games last week for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League. Junior Kyle Phillips (Orlando) will also be competing this summer in the Florida League.

"The New York Yankees are hunting for an ace who can help them win their 28th World Series championship. Per numerous reports, they've stalked just about every big name in the wild.

Then there's the not-so-big-name ace who's also just the guy the Yankees need: Blake Snell."

The article says that it would take a Chris Sale like package to make it happen. What would you take in order to ship of a talent like Blake Snell. I say lets start with Justice Sheffield and Miguel Andujar and talk from there. It would probably take Clint Frazier and maybe one more lower prospect as well.

Hopefully one, or more, of the pitchers back out. It's a travesty it didn't work out for Snell to be there.

It really is. I don't like that no pitchers are on the ballot for the final vote but since Verlander has already been replaced by Bauer we gotta hope the Sale will want the break going into his seventh selection. The rest are still new to the experience and will probably want to soak it up.
