We gotta get Battie the ball more

What do you call Timmy's performance today? I'd call it blowing it 100%

Downvoted for pointing out that we need to swap QBs? McClain has held onto the ball way too long, and missed every throw he's made outside of the Atkins drop... Why does Fortin not deserve a shot?

Time to try a new QB please

As somebody who used to play QB at an extremely low level and my extensive madden play, McClain needs to be swapped for somebody. Scott is playing for his job and his QB is not even looking down field. He thinks he can shake everybody. Bro you are a QB. Calm your feet and read the defense.

Sure, pay him and the rest of his staff for the next few years? Who do we hire then? Orgeron, would not come here.
Maybe we can bring Kerwin Bell in as HC.
We are regressing. Winless seasons are not acceptable. Winning 2 games is not acceptable when 1 of them is an FCS team. He is not the guy for this job. The right guy for this job gets 3 wins this year MINIMUM. Keep being ok with 1-2 wins a year. That is complete bull **** IMO

I see zero players worth anything on this team. McClain playing like he thinks hes superman. The safeties are bad. The DLine is soft. The only reasonable thing I can think of is fire Scott. I'm sorry but it needs to be done.

HILL WHERE ARE YOU MAN? Come on, the man got beat, and the safety is nowhere to be found. That isn't on the coordinator, that is a mental lapse
-
I just started watching these last 2 Timmy passes, and they have both looked pretty bad. Crazy score to start the game
-
in 1 hour, we decide if we need to fire scott, or get hyped about next season..... There is no way we keep scott if he loses this game, right guys???
-
I said 4 wins before the season. I'm guessing 3 right now. I think we find a way to lose against UCF.
1. QB is looking slightly more improved each game. I'm not going to be too optimistic. He could always regress, he could transfer, ect.. but overall he's better than anybody could expect for a freshman. He looks like if he was having a great night, he could take over games. Hopefully that game is vs UCF.
2. Offensive talent does look better. I'm talking Battie, Weaver mostly. They have the most potential.
3. Grier is a good player, and Boyles is right there. Too bad they are both seniors, so hate to say it but next year looks really rough for defense. This year looks really rough for the defense too

Brian Battie being the best player on the team

He was rolling on the defender, so he seemed to get past the goal line. I don't know if we have a good enough view to overturn this though

Interesting that Marsh is over Fortin. That's a good sign I think? Fortin seemed like he doesn't have chemistry w receivers, so he doesn't have trust to throw so he takes too much pressure. He's got some throwing ability, so I hope Marsh can prove equal or better play a few weeks into the season vs ECU. I really have low expectations for USF so I doubt he can disappoint.

Honest question for those of you who hate on Taggart for not showing loyalty to USF... why would he be loyal to a university that shows no loyalty to its own coaches??
For the thousandth time, you can justify firing Leavitt all you want, but don't be shocked when other coaches see how we treated him.
It 100% played a factor into him leaving.

The kicker is our best player. Lol. Take the lead. Weird timing for a fake. But at least we can't complain that he's too conservative anymore.

How are we using the term "people"?
If you're referring to USF fans, casual or die hard, I would assume a measure of awareness regarding the schedule. If you're referring to Joe Donut, with absolutely no interest in USF whatsoever - I don't know why they would wonder if USF has a game.
Face it, interest in USF football has plummeted. There's probably a more diplomatic way to say that, but since I'm not running for office, I'll just use that term. We can gnaw the reasons for that until the cows come home, but if you're not interested in the product, you're just not interested. Who's playin' this weekend? Georgia? 'Bama? Ohio State? Oklahoma? Oh yea, USF is also playing [insert here]. Oh, it's a bye week? How can you tell? I know, I know, that was mean, and probably could have gone unsaid, but in a moment of weakness...
So, I can't argue that interest in USF football has waned considerably, and we all know - oh yes we do - what will cure that little issue, don't we!?
I assume you mean winning will cure the interest issue.
Or just hire Jim Leavitt again. Either way

I've watched about half of each game outside of none of FAMU. USF football is boring, and the ray jay is boring. Its really hard to get into this team. We need an OCS and an average team at minimum now.

Why do you think this and what is your expectation for this year? 7 wins?
I expected 5 wins pre season. Now I expect only 2 wins because maybe they can beat Tulsa or Temple. Its doubtful we win both though. What are your expectations right now?
-
I just appreciate all the winning he did here. Its amazing how people can hate on that
-
Hes a guy who could easily get good playing time somewhere. I just saw Peyton Barber getting snaps. Marlon will find his way back on the field

i think it was a combination of on the field and demotion. The latter years of Skip/early years of Willie and playing teams a lot of people had barely heard of. Maybe things would have been different if Skip was able to have elevated us a bit over where CJL left off. CSH had some name ooc wins and maybe if he had been a more serious contender in conference, even though a conference with less notoriety, interest may have been maintained. We'll never know ...
So we are going to pretend firing Jim in that manner had no affect on the interest in our program?

Who's wondering? There's so many other major sports in the area, plus they follow the college teams they grew up rooting for, there's no interest in watching USF v Tulane/Tulsa/etal ....
We killed the interest trips... I was living around the country between 2011-2016 and when I mentioned being a USF fan, you would be so surprised how many people knew of the mad man Jim Leavitt... the angry guy doing sprints, and thought it was awesome how fast he raised this program's status. Multiple people asked "What ever happend to them?? I haven't heard of them in awhile!"
Having a symbolic coach like that... the Gary Paterson of TCU... Bowden of FSU... Peterson of BSU....
Iconic coaches and identities resonate with people... But the pea brains at USF spit on Jim Leavitt and changed our uniforms so often that our squad was unrecognizable from the limitless potential teams of 2007-2010.

The only bright side of the whole game was Timmy McClain looking athletic with a nice arm.
Are we expecting anything vs Florida? Are we satisfied with 7 points? Are we satisfied holding them below 50? The benchmark of improvement seems to be showing up to the game at all. I don't know what to look for or what to watch for.. It really is going to be a pathetic year.

Then they should leave and never come back. The university as an institution is always greater than ANY person. He tried to influence an investigation and that goes beyond anything trivial. I know you support him no matter what, there are many on this board who do, but there are also many who do not. That’s the way it will always be and more importantly it’s irrelevant now. This program needs to look forward not backward. And yes that may mean having the right leadership but I am willing to give Kelly a benefit of a doubt…but it is his mess now.
If that is the mindset, then stop wondering why the Tampa natives don't support the team. It is because the university doesn't care what you've contributed, and isn't focused on winning. Optics are more important.

Sean Atkins is so bad. We should use Weaver Brinkman and Battie more.
