I don't really recall if they put the lyrics up or not. For some reason, I have it in my head that they do put them up, but they're still going for a world record compression performance. I really do think it's a joke, meant in the humorous, not sarcastic, sense of the word. Why else would anyone rip through that song so fast? It's not an accident. I find it....odd, but I've reached a point where not everything associated with USF sports is a sacred cow. What if, that particular behavior, is viewed by some as 'tradition'...could that be?

I would use the word "sing" loosely.

 

The entire thing is embarrassing on so many levels.   We're a few performances away from having to intervene and put this wounded beast down.

How's this for an idea?  Athletics needs to select one random student each game. If they can sing the fight song correctly and at the right pace, they will be given two courtside seats (so they can bring a friend) for that game (along with some food and drink vouchers).

I don't mind the band playing the fight song right before the game, but the singing needs to stop. It is seriously pathetic. They go twice as fast as it's supposed to be. Towards the end, each member is at a different point in the song, it just sounds like crap. 
Yet another thing our band is terrible at

That's silly...why in the world would they do that? Their main job is to play the fight song. Correctly. Just dumb.
