If there was any "influencing" done, ie $$$$, it wasn't to screw USF, it was strictly to keep Weiner ... They probably raised his recruiting budget.

-------------------------

Exactly.  I can't believe the board is melting down over a high school coach that was briefly going to be a position coach.

The funny part is the posters on here melting down, and criticizing Weiner for being impulsive.  Talk about irony.

I'm not melting down but I think it was a **** move for him to do it. Unless CWT forced him to make a decision on the spot, you take whatever time you can to make a life move like this and be **** sure when you commit to it.

It's not about the $ with Coach Weiner, or the influence of Plant's "dad's club" (ridiculous to compare to USF donors). It's about the impact that he has on these kids lives. He couldn't walk away from it. Get over it, it's shocking, but at the end of the day it's our freaking WR's coach

NOTHING TO SEE HERE!

This ...

This situation is:

Great for Weiner from a PR standpoint - he has even more cred now that a university had offered him a job and I'm thinking he's probably getting something in return for staying.

Bad for USF from a PR standpoint - we get rejected by a HS coach and it's just one more injection of medicine in the ass that we're having difficulty hiring coaches and/or changing conferences. It's piss poor perception of USF.

Guys like Bull94 and Data seem to be in denial about the latter or at best, overlooking it.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I understand his reasons for going back, but don't make the decision to leave public and then undo it.

"Considering the number of Plant grads to the number of USF grads the Dad's club is probably more infulential than the Bull's Club."

See the point of the "RATIO" in my comment. Not so ridiculous is it?

I would guess there are far more USF grads than plant grads. you're comparing a high school with 2,200 students to a college with 36,000 undergraduates.

-------Whats he getting? The school district can't apy him more lol so unless a Plant parent paid for his house i don't think that's the case

-------We didn't get rejected. He accepted, worked for one day and quit.

perhaps the guy just loves his job. made the mistake of taking another job then had second thoughts. unbelievable that some of you think it's more than that.

Exactly. Of course it's not as influential 1 to 1. One would have to be WAY crazier than me to think that.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
