I also ... I think Scott is a lock to have a seat on the bus! Hear him talk? He has a passion for USF football.

Shannon at DC would be a coupe.

Offenseive staff needs help. Is Hargreaves the ST coach? Whoever the ST coach was needs to go.

Who coached the DE? He should be out too.

Would say Woodie from WKU will be on staff, for sure!

So I see that the assistant coach pool is $1.9 million, up from $1.85 according to this article (http://www.tampabay....last-years-pace).

Fitch - $280,000

Patrick - $170,000

Scott - $170,000

Smith - $210,000 DB Coach - this guy should have his LinkedIn account ready.

Vass - $190,000

Hargreaves - $190,000

Shankweiler - $185,000

Cosh - $325,000 (I threw up in my mouth typing this)

Pathon - $80,000

It would be great if the assistants pool went up by $325,000 after next season, because we won't have to pay Cosh anymore. Also, won't we be off the hook for Leavitt after next season also?

Durkin looks like he could be ready to step up to DC. If we somehow can't afford to pickup Shannon, we should still be able to afford him. Which would be more of a risk (lack of a pedigree/resume to support investment), but wouldn't be too bad.

Another 24/7 guy thought out a legitimate staff for Taggart, with legitimate numbers and everything, but it wouldn't be fair to share it here! :P

I'll shiz my piz if we can pick up Durkin or Shannon. The guys over at the UF board are worried enough to make a thread out of it, many of them thinking we can't afford Durkin (he's pulling in 340k at UF).

Whats the UF board?

The assistant pool was going to increase to 1.9 million for this year any way.

Taggart is going to bring in Blackwell and Woodie. Those guys are in the position much like Taggart where they can get a substantial pay increase, to compensation that is very fair for their experience, and still be making less than their former counterparts here. You can start them "low," probably 140 or less. KP and Scott look likely to remain, and probably at similar or slight pay raises. No reason to pay a TE coach 190k or a lame DB coach 210K or a guy who coaches only half the D Line 190K.

Also, last years salaries also only total up to 1.8, so I think you can find another 150-200k to spend just by bringing in a couple younger coaches and using the rest of the money that wasn't utilized last year ( or we don't know how it was used, as it was allocated after the article was published).

The question is USF prepared to buy Cosh out or are they handicapping Taggart with that salary?

I didnt know Shannon's defenses were so good.

During Shannon's six years as UM's defensive coordinator, his defenses ranked as follows in total defense nationally:

2001 – 6th 2002 – 7th 2003 – 2nd 2004 – 28th 2005 – 4th 2006 – 7th

I wonder who will be OC since he said USF will deploy an offense that isn't usually seen in college ball, it will be like Stanford or the 49ers.
