Wow, the cliff was steep between last year and this one.

I didn't even know Wilcox was considering leaving for his final year of eligibility. I hope we can get to the point where our better players don't even think about bailing--Strong has more work to do.
Glad to hear BB is playing well to start--I hope he can keep the head game together and set the talent free. He really seems to have a high ceiling...if he wants to.

Not really caring about the Lightning org's motivation, just care that they're interested in helping us do what it takes to reach the next level. I agree with a prior poster that advice from the group that has helped elevate the Lightning's status so high is something USF can't ignore, and I'd love to see us invest in their top 3 ideas, to start. It doesn't initially have to be all or nothing--handle it in phases and see how it works out.
As to the "why" OP, that vid's a good summary. We do this to build the program and garner interest from fans & recruits. If we did nothing post-season, we definitely finish losers. Now they have a little momentum and a resume builder, and if they win, even more so.

One of the scrappiest players I've seen with a USF jersey. Does not give up, I'm proud for him.

Think jet sweeps, screens and end arounds. They want him in space.
Has to be this. Don't see him being a 50/50-ball possession guy.

Masiello has sucked since then.
i recognize. couldn't have had a lousier showing than antigua tho, no?
Thankfully we'll never know. It's not a test worth performing.

finishing top 3 wouldn't have even been in the conversation at the start of the season*. These guys are fighters, proud fan.
* i-told-ya-so types notwithstanding...

It was all Gilbert's fault...;)

Good story. She sounds like a pretty strong scorer, hope she gets even better here!

In another thread, we have four pages of arguing about whether or not we should talk about where a former player is transferring to. I don't get the sense anyone is "pissed off" about a TDS article, but we're **** sure going to tear it apart and argue over it. It's what we do.
...and tear each other apart in the process too. We're sooo good at bringing these things to a personal level. Mad skills.

Man, the vast improvement over last year (and the 2 years before that) is gift enough for me, but would love to see them scrap their way into NIT. Gregory looks to be a keeper for USF.

What the heck is all this logical talk? Clearly Battle & McCloud had great talent coming out of HS, and they'd be a better fit for USF's offense!!!
/sarcasm. I hope BB has a breakout year with the new offense. I share concerns about the O line, hope the coaching change there makes a big difference.

So...I'm looking at the jersey colors and thinking, "why is he playing for the west?" Great pick!

Just hope the kid gets back to full speed again. Hate seeing any big-talent player get knocked out early in their career.

Never. Is it because it’s cross court, skipping all the other players?

Winning (especially a big game) is a drug, and it's fun to see them get high on it. What a different team, love it!

I thought if an AAC team went undefeated they were the national champions?
Man I can't even feel comfortable making fun of them anymore after two very enviable seasons, the last one with a new coach.
Don't get me wrong--I will, but I won't feel comfortable...

Loving this team's heart. I hope they stay gritty down the conference stretch. It's a long road...Go Bulls!
-
Right or wrong, my logic is get the IPF first to attract & motivate the players in hopes they'll build more camaraderie, practice more, play better, get more W's, and attract more fans...then go build the OCS and amp up the environment.

Logic dictates that we cant hope they lose just so we can win. What's that make us?
A rival.
I feel "win" anytime they take the loss.

Not unless you're 15. Didn't know about Publix until we moved down here.
I could erase a load of problems I caused if I was 15 again...but I probably would have created even more to take their place lol

****...the Publix comment is well worn on this thread( and it seemed so creative) how about Kerwin is registering for Spring classes...
Believe I was first. The rest are copy cats.
Well-worn insertion long before this thread was born.
...but it's possible CR introduced it way back then, too, before I was born...

One question, what if fCWT was still here, would these same kids be tossed like they have been?
Only if they got formally caught--so...qualified "yes". CCS seems more proactive.
Great article from McKenzie MIlton on leg injury and recovery

Maturity far beyond his years, love the realistic attitude--not too positive, not negative, not in a tremendous hurry, and CLEARLY trying to learn all about the technical side of the injury and recovery. That's cool. Whatever happens, I think he'll be fine if he can keep the bigger life picture in front of him. I hope to see him on Sundays, I'll root for him.
