It's right there on the USF Traditions website. We have doomed since our we embraced our first mascot. As we all know from Exodus 32 and that epic Charlton Heston flick The Ten Commmandments, the Lord has a real issue with golden bovine. From the way I remember the story, he planned to kill all the fans of the Golden Cow but some of the true zealots (I think they were called the Levitts, or something to that effect) ended up offing a whole bunch of the others -- I would estimate about half of the season ticket holders. I think that explains USF's athletic issues about as well as anything I have seen suggested. And with that, I prophesy that we may be wandering around lost in the desert for a while longer.
"And the Lord plagued the people, because they made the calf...."
-- Exodus 32:35
How the Bulls Were Born
With many different early name suggestions, the “Golden Brahman” was selected as the official mascot of USF in November 1962.
Nah, we threw down the vanity of that golden brahman and renamed to "Bulls", whose blood atoned for the sins of the people often. If there wasn't enough blood spilled on that field Friday to make up for any arrogance or football idol worship, we're not doing the repenting thing right. Of course that would mean more blood in Atlanta.

Just find a way to get him in the game

Our USF BULLS have one thing in common when we are good: a dual threat QB.
KB's spread-first O should be very compatible, and while McCloud looks pretty mobile, BB's legs are pretty good when he uses them. Just didn't look like we had designs to use him that way.

It's not ethical for raising young men. I'd agree...he should say 5 mins before game he suspended himself for the GT game.
We would probably win>he sucks the life out of this team
You sure it was CCS and not the DC? I agree though it looked poorly faked--bad decision whoever made it.

KB looked a lot like CWT did in the McNeese game--stunned, frustrated, disgusted, beaten. I'll agree he's the one that takes the main responsibility for the goose egg, but just like the McNeese game, we had a MAJOR problem in execution out there. It turned around okay for us with CWT (who brings a Boise St chuckle...), so let's take a deep breath and let KB & CCS try to find some motivation for our guys. I hope they'll find some for me too...;)
So your best hope is 2.5 years of losing as we try over and over to make something work that won’t and then on the cusp of being shown the door a complete 180 in systems just so we can have one decent year and the coach jumps at the first chance to head out?
Nope. My hope is that KB's "something" WILL work, and that he can get the kids motivated enough to execute it.
It was humbling to say the least, but extrapolating our future from that game is really not a fair take. That said, if I knew we'd get back to the strength we had in CWT's last year (and the first with CCS, talent-wise), then yeah I'd probably be willing to invest a couple of years in the learning process. Problem is, most people have probably already decided not to invest any more in even THIS year. Pity, the team needs support now more than ever.

Yeah, it's bad. While I think we all expected a L (except for CaliBull), I don't think anyone expected such a curb-stomping on our home field. I would have considered anything less than a 2-touchdown loss like a win. We have a steep climb to make out of this hole.

Hoping this isn't like Willie's first season, when we were waiting for the offense to click, which never happened throughout that season.
Well, I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. Going into the game we were reported to be strong on heart, but we clearly didn't have much--confidence tanked pretty quickly. It takes time and good execution in a game situation to build back up, so I'm breaking out the generator and my dry food supplies 'cause hurricane Wisconsin just knocked the power out!

I really like CJL, but you'd be crazy to bet against this chica.

Not completely sure what to make of the "had to take some things out" comment
It sounds like a coach, adapting to the skill sets of his players.
I know we aren't exactly used to that lol
It could be. At this point I'm probably just hyper-sensitive to little things that make me think the kids aren't grasping the system or the system is confusing. Good news is we have a system complicated enough that the coach had to throttle back for the first game or two. Looking forward to seeing more than HB dive, HB dive, incomplete, punt.

I'll be absolutely chill until the ball gets kicked. I then become bizarro-me and usually have to issue a post-game apology or two.

Playing and scoring fast? Sounds like a CCS nightmare.
It's a concern for any D-coordinator with thin areas. Quick scoring keeps the D out there longer, which is not a big deal if we score at will. If we don't and our D gets gassed from a run-heavy Wiscy, it will be a loooong game for us.

would love to see an early pick6 to sap their morale. I hope our DBs make good decisions and fly.

KB = affable guy. Not completely sure what to make of the "had to take some things out" comment, but hopefully it's what he said and he wants to make it comfortable for our 1st year offense. We've seen our guys confused before, but I want to think this guy will have them ready to pop. Like that he's drilling them on reads and formations constantly, man I hope our guys are as ready as our coordinators are saying. Officially getting excited now.

I'd go with the O--our best chance to get some energy in the crowd early.
Start McCloud!!!!

By watching, he's a good passer (really has a heck of an arm)...when he's not pressing. Stat includes all the many drops we had last year and looks like we're continuing that tradition this year. Anyone see the one zing'd pass to Wilcox on the sideline? Wilcox tried but was like a HS player staring at his first 100mph fast-ball. Not sure he even got fingers on it before it was past him.
I dunno, he just doesn't seem to have a feel for the evolving game--it's a head thing to me, maybe he still just thinks too much--this is like his 8th offense to learn (or something crazy like that). He has shown some heart, skill, attitude, leadership--sometimes--but he needs that QF quality of being able to forget junk and get the team to move on. I really root for the kid. If he figured this stuff out, he could have snaps at the next-level. From the minute they gave him the 5-star tag and started him at 'bama, he's had a LOT to prove and maybe that's got a lot to do with it.
