You really should check out that forum sometimes. The comedy gold there is off the charts.

You get comments like "the AAC is nothing unless UCF is in an up year".

The god complex their fans demonstrate on a daily basis is the stuff that could be taught in an upper level Psych class.

At least the Board has a sense of humor

not every post over there should be taken literally

The frustrating thing for Strong has to be the thought of watching Herman be successful with his players in a year he would've been effective with them. Heck that may be a reason to come back and coach for USF. Might as well take advantage of another coach's great players! And build on it on Texas' dime!

so he's going to pull a Tony Dungy

gameday coaching is part of being a next level coach and if Herman wins 10 games in Season 1 there is no guarantee the same happens if Strong was still on the sideline in Austin

I think if any scout tells Mack that he is a 3rd round lock he is gone. Too easy to go and get that money. He reminds me of a larger change of pace back like Sproles, Giovani Bernard, or Chris Sims. If he's projected anything later than the 4th round he should come back. It would be tough to go early and get no guaranteed money.

but with RBs the late round grade might not matter as much as other positions. GMs are devaluing the position and there have been recent drafts where they didn't take 1 RB the entire first round, so even a 5th round grade it might be worth to go now and work on that next contract if he ends up good enough.

The Degree argument is that he can always come back and finish it later. Bortles still has about a semester of credits left, if he doesn't improve and is out of the league in a year or 2 I don't think he'll regret the millions made off his rookie signing bonus deal

I sure did. The question wasn't who is the better team, but rather who has more talent. Roster to roster, Oregon has more talent.

that Freshman QB they put in once the season was lost is really talented, he beat a ranked Utah

if Taggart doesn't get a stronghold in Southern California he's going to fail, I just don't think the FL pipeline is going to bring enough out West to 'out talent' others in the PAC.

I believe the conference has no rules about it.  Eight AAC teams sell beer at their fb games

ucf just added a "beer section" where you can drink beer only in that area.

Since USF sells beer at other sports events, and fans are used to it at RayJay, I don't see that changing.

there's a chance they are going to allow beer sales for the entire stadium next season. The AD is considering it but no final decision yet.

That place looks pretty good. Better than Ucf at least. Some people are dreaming too big with the pics of Oregon's stadium...that ain't happening. SMU would be a great model to use.

know it's the popular move to bash UCF's stadium but it's not as bad as you all make it out to be. And it's gotten a lot better with the improvements the last 2 seasons, specifically the sounds system with the HD board that got put in this season.

Also realize that the internal structures of Minnesota, FAU, and Doak are very similar's to UCF's stadium. Complete Facades on Day 1 are very expensive when you are on an AAC Budget

    Let's go 40k...

nicer than UCF (and our tailgates will be better)

keep our home winning % extremely high

baby steps. If there is one thing UCF has been consistent with, it's awesome tailgates.

But didn't Skip Holtz say the same thing about an OCS when he was at USF?

Some of you are beyond help.

A 25K stadium?  Are you serious.  We averaged 37K this year.  Most MAC and Sun Belt programs have bigger stadiums than 25K.

25K might as well be the Idaho Kibbie Dome.

Have you forgotten that we averaged 50K over the course of 4 years and over 40K over the course of 10 years while in Big East.

Yeah, that will look great come Big 12 expansion time (and it will come again at some point).  Do you really listen to yourselves.  UCF has a 45K stadium and our attendance was BETTER than theirs this year.  Yes, better.  Look it up.  They only averaged 35K announced this year.

after what happened in 2015 that should be expected. Attendance this season was anomaly though, just about every season at the OCS was near 40k average

Student Attendance is not an automatic anymore and it's becoming an issue at Programs across the country

I don't understand this logic. Miami shares it's stadium with the Dolphins.

It would be awesome if somehow we could build a real stadium on campus, but until something compatible to RJS (or the Doak or the Swamp) is possible I don't see the emergency.

And Miami has not won anything of significance since leaving the Orange Bowl.

0 ACC Titles. They are a Tropical Pitt at this point.

I'm as worried about FAU and FIU as Miami, Florida, and FSU are about us. We're smack in the middle.

even though Butch is the bigger name in South Florida I think Kiffin might be the one to take a few that USF or UCF might one. FIU is a dump. FAU has poured a lot of money into their campus recently and it's in a really nice location with an improving collegiate atmosphere

Not sure what the argument about Austin vs Tampa is.. media markets? If you're talking about quality of living there is no contest. I think you'd be very hard pressed to find anyone preferring to live in Tampa. That is unless you're:

    A. From New York and prefer to be around other New Yorkers

    B. Are super wealthy and own a boat

    C. Only listen to rap music.

I've lived in both Tampa (6 years) and Austin (3 years). So just my opinion.

yeah I've visited only once and loved it. I have a friend from UCF that moved to Austin and he liked Orlando a lot but said Austin blows it away. It just has an amazing environment and livability/quality of life.

Austin is bigger than Tampa.  932,000 in Austin versus 346,000 in Tampa.  The Tampa Bay area is bigger.  2.975 million in the Tampa Bay Metro region, but Austin's Metro region is just over 2 million.  So this area is bigger, but it's not as dramatic a difference as you'd think.  It's pretty close in size to the Orlando Metro region.

the Mayors of Orlando and Tampa are actually trying to be more like Austin. It's definitely one of the coolest cities east of the Rockies, tons of California transplants. Great food, downtown, and live music scene with 2 huge Music Festivals per year
