It's not a, "college town", but the bars around there do have a lot of college kids go, especially Knight Library.
+1 UCF has a nice mix where it's not quite like a land grant college town but East Orlando is separated enough in its little corner of Metro Orlando where it feels like it

it depends what you want. Staying Downtown will be more expensive and require more driving on gameday but is great for bar hopping. The UCF area would be cheaper and is more of suburban setup but you still have solid options to eat/drink pre and post game(Bar Louie, World of Beer). Knight Library, Stagger Inn, & Knights Pub are the bars most current students go to. If you decide to stay by UCF and want to do minimal driving the DoubleTree UCF/Eeast Orlando is the best bet. If you decide to stay Downtown I'd recommend the Embassy Suites on Pine Street.

He may not leave, but, there could be an agreement to announce it before the end of the year... early signing period and all, it makes sense for UF to want to have it out there to keep recruits.
Also, I don't think Taggart leaving Oregon hurts them too bad, they would immediately hire Chip Kelly and the fans would rejoice. Taggart would be a blip on their radar.
Yeah he'll still be on the sideline but the distraction will spiral out of control & the fanbase is going to be demoralized and angry
I wouldn't be surprised if they lose to SMU Saturday

It's gonna be Frost bud, just a matter of time before it comes out.
I know the threat is real and it would really ruin this season for me.
We'll know for sure soon thought bc UF sources can't keep their mouths shut. If Frost refuses to sign the new contract that is going to be offered then he's gone.

Frost is now the overwhelming betting favorite at most online books that are offering odds....pretty quick move in just one day.
if someone is willing to gamble on coaching carousel...
I think it would be tempting to Taggart but don't think he leaves Oregon

This thread just gave me an idea. How about in our coaching contracts, we put a clause that if the coach gets hired to a P5 school, a 4-game, home and home series has to be scheduled, with the first game at USF? Brilliant, huh?
I'd prefer a big financial penalty. It screws over the fans of USF and UCF & the Players.
-
their fans are thirsty for Frost...would be the worst case scenario, if he leaves I'd rather he go out of State

I'm leaning more towards Texas. Bridgwater and Clint Hurt were the main reasons for success at Louisville.
Time will tell...
O'leary outcoached him and you all know he's not a schematic genius

You haven't watched UCF this year if you think USF has superior athletes. A slight edge? Possibly but outside of QB with Flowers UCF could have the edge at anyone looking at it objectively, especially at the WR position.

We did play them in 2007...
I am kind of shocked that a UCF fan would step into that one.

First time both teams are good the same season.

I didn't forget about Taggart but I think it's more painful for Houston fans for him to stay In State

I feel terrible for the Houston fanbase. They are the most recent example of Texas and College Football Politics causing them to lose their Coach and incredible Program Momentum.
I'm afraid the same story may happen to UCF.

Me feelings exactly. If UCF is only going to lose one game this season, let it be to us. If they are going to lose 2, go ahead and make it 3 (Navy, SMU, USF???), but, honestly, I'm not seeing it. So let's go ahead and have us a little Black Friday, undefeated, Top 12 showdown in their rusted out, prison yard, looking stadium.
we'll see how Navy goes but I think most of our fans are actually more worried about SMU. Our Run Defense is supposed to be good despite a little bit of sloppy play the last few games but there has been signs that the pass defense can be exposed with an accurate passer. Getting Clarke back after the Navy game(6 game suspension) will help bc he most likely replaces Moore at corner who gets picked on.

not gonna lie Navy has me worried. I want the team to get up double digits fast like the last few games, if not it's going to be one of those sweat it out till the clock runs 0. Teams like Navy like to take the air out of the ball in time of possession

Okay, if you go to the game, to actually watch the game, field level seating sucks, you really can't see what's going on, especially when they're on the end zone opposite of you.
yeah I'm not a fan of that view either when you are a paying customer and don't get in free

Actually the attendance issues at UCF are more REVENUE based.
The AD changed the ticket and STH program to be maximize REVENUE rather than fill the stadium with Cheap or FREE tickets. More Premium seats, Cabana and other Clubs.
So the lower attendance (still in mid to upper 30k) likely is benefiting the program even more than a FULL HOUSE, Time will tell if this was a wise move or not but that seems to be in play at this time.
yep that is the current debate UCF fans are having that are a little frustrated with the team ranked and not having complete sellouts. UCF tickets are expensive for the conference we are in but the AD White thinks Revenue #s are more important to pitch to P5 leagues in the future, hence the $22K field level cabanas.

What were McShay's reasons for suggesting that he stay? Obviously there is less pressure and expectation at UCF but would be surprised that anyone would suggest that it's a better opportunity than Nebraska. Regardless of whether it's UCF or any of the other G5 schools, seems like it would be hard to make a solid argument for sticking around in the current environment where there is a clear divide.

Case in point Willie.
Willie did not have a good relationship with your Athletic Director and some of your Boosters. There were talks a full year before he took the Oregon job and I think if that relationship was better he might have stayed at USF longer and waited for a job in the South(like Tennessee) which I thought he would be a better fit for anyway.
I know your fans will root for anything that you think hurts our Program but to be honest it's not good for either Program if we keep having this coaching turnover. It will create apathy. Although not likely I hope both Strong and Frost are still at both schools in 3 years

Were any of those HC jobs at a P5 school? If so, were they offering him more money than he received at UCF?
Frost is a young coach and just reaching his prime.
If he is looking at some point to become a P5 HC at Nebraska or some other traditional football power, he needs to strike when the iron is hot, just like Taggart.
Those kinds of opportunities don't come around all that often.
Since some people seem to be in the mood to make predictions today, I'll do one of my own:
IF UCF is undefeated and wins the AAC championship, he won't be coaching them in their bowl game. He will be off to some P5 school.
I could be wrong.
However, I don't think there are many coaches like Jim Leavitt who will turn down a really big time offer.
USF was JL's "baby" and it is relatively easy to understand why he turned down BAMA!
Frost was offered the Colorado State, Syracuse, and possibly the Maryland job. Turned them all down for 0-12 UCF when that coaching carousel had a record number of openings. The Maryland offer wasn't confirmed but his parents let it slip in an interview they did for a Nebraska newspaper that he was in the mix there. There were also reports that Frost told some of his former teammates and coaches that he was eyeing the UCF opening for years. Todd McShay said today that he thinks Frost should stay at UCF vs going to Nebraska.

Has Gameday ever gone to an off-campus stadium that wasn't a bowl game?
maybe Miami a long time ago? I'm sure they try to avoid it. It makes it harder to draw a good crowd when you don't have students stumbling over from their dorm in the AM
UCF's Memory Mall is perfect for College Gameday

If you really think Dr Hitt would risk the safety of over 30K fans , he would never take that gamble. It's a long term concern , not immediate

I feel much better now that Ambien put some text in a really large font. So I hope the engineers that stated it was safe have a lot of insurance just in case UCF has to go after them on November 25th. I also hope these are not the engineers that are part of the original lawsuit.
USF, please put my tickets for this game as close to the first row as possible.
GO BULLS!
sorry about that. assumed the size was auto adjusted.

You get what you pay for. This is why my philosophy on important things is "buy once, cry once"
Have you been to a game at UCF during the last 2 seasons with the upgrades?
It's actually a comfortable place to watch a game with more spacious concourses compared to the other college stadiums in State, the Swamp is like a maze of tunnels getting to the different sections. But if USF fans don't want to travel for a game that might have a New Years Day Bowl on the line we'll take it

I forgot about that weekend being Thanksgiving weekend. I'd definitely stay Downtown. The UCF Area will be a little more dead than usual
If the teams played this weekend for example there would be way more of an atmosphere on the East side of town.
