That Memphis game was highly uncharacteristic of Memphis and it was in the bounce house. As for the sack numbers,  have they played any defenses known for getting after the quarterback?

Houston is not the team we knew and respected from years prior. Now Notre Dame is legit this year, but I believe Navy plays the knights before Navy and ND meet. So ND vs NAVY could be a top 25 showdown.

Or you could give credit that maybe it was the defensive line and home field advantage that rattled him? A beatdown like that is not luck.

    USF just opened up The Villages;

how does the student environment compare at both schools (Even without our OCS)

current USF students can give an update but I heard that there still isn't much open late night or on weekends

UCF has a a pretty active campus even at night and in the immediate area. Which makes it frustrating that we don't sell out the Football stadium more often bc there is definitely enough people all over Campus tailgating to fill up that Stadium. Burger U is great and Gringos Locos(late night Mexican restaurant in Downtown Orlando open till 3am) is opening a location On Campus in Knight Plaza near the Basketball Arena.

    california is oregon's pipeline

the florida thing  will never last longterm

which is why him stacking his staff with all Florida recruiters is a huge risk. He even has David Kelly in a paid position up there. It might work for his first one or two classes but distance & a middle of the pack record will close that up real quick.

UCF isn't in any position to match a top P5 program.

    ofcourse not

and about Frost, I have no idea if he would bolt after Year 2 if his home state comes calling but most of his interviews ever since taking the UCF job he always stresses how much he loves being in a fertile recruiting ground.

I always thought if he won big at UCF he would privately prefer a California or Arizona Pac12 school. All signs indicate he and his wife like living in Orlando and that if he left I think he'd like the fit more on the West Coast vs a Big10 school that has to recruit against Harbaugh and Meyer.

The difference between Frost and Taggart is the relationship with the Athletic Director which might buy us at least 1 more season.

  5. UCF had better attendance in CUSA.....

Students are becoming more and more less passionate about College Football, even at SEC Programs like Georgia student attendance has become an issue.

There are current UCF Students that will pick a Saturday Orlando City game over UCF. There are also a lot of fans that heard for  4+ years  that Conference Realignment was inevitable and yet the Program sits here on the outside looking in. I'm assuming that is the case at USF as well especially with the small taste of it during the BE days.

    Some excerpts from JK ....

My favorite part is where Joey creatively substituted "polarizing" for "bat **** crazy" ...

When asked a follow-up question, Frost threw in this polarizing proclamation: "Orlando's the best college town in this state."

from the objective perspective of college aged people Orlando has a good argument. It's definitely one of the factors in UCF's explosion in enrollment and growth. It has a really nice environment by Campus and if you add the Eastern Valencia students and even Rollins that is a lot of students in that part of Orlando. Frost has traveled to a lot of Campuses around the country & he loves what he has at UCF.

nope...it's concrete covered in blue plastic. (it might be aluminum under the plastic, not sure)

this is the best image I could find, of course, the seats shown have now been converted to chairback seats. (but that at least shows what they look like)

Been to the Liberty Bowl and liked the setup.

UCF will be adding more chairback seats with cupholders this offseason. Stadium will up to near 5K chairback seats near the 50 yard line.

oh please don't put me in that company & if you have seen my pasts posts I was not the biggest O'leary fan so that alone should separate me from him/her

This is not unlike the years that Holtz and Taggart joined us in December. If you recall, Holtz was able to flip Terrance Mitchell from FSU. Taggart didn't close huge, but he laid the foundation for the very strong 2014 class at that time. It will be very interesting to see how Strong finishes. Keeping King will help in the Bay area and Corey Bell should pay dividends in South Florida. While the other members of the staff have some prior ties to Florida, it's difficult to know if any have current relationships with the class of 2017 in Florida and I'm not certain how many recruits from the state of Texas are going to be willing to consider USF.

But I will say this, I think that we were on track for USF to have it's lowest rated class in the Taggart era. I'm not sure why. We had the best season ever and didn't have a lot of staff turnover, but there didn't seem to be a lot of buzz. There is increased buzz now and it appears that we will have a lot of high 3 and low 4 star recruits coming in for visits. I'm confident that this class will finish stronger with Strong than we would have with Taggart.

And his class last year wasn't that great. You take away the rating bump by Soloman(think that was his name) who Georgia & just about every SEC/ACC wouldn't touch bc of his incident & the class average dips even more. It seems like after the first 2 classes Recruiting declined under him.
