I don't trust the people who make decisions for USF Athletics (big cheese people).
USF fired Stan Heath, made an offer to a guy without his degree, and then hired a guy who made the men's bball program even worse than our bad times. That's three awful moves in a row.
I think there was a search committee and all of that for the post-firing of Stan Heath.
Sooo... now, I watch and I wait. I trust nothing! Nothing!

Right now, I'll settle for an improvement on what's his name who left for Utah.
USF has never, ever taken risks with hires (on paper). I don't see that changing right now.

Here's your answer on Jurich:
Quote"No dirty laundry. That's important…" Sutton said. "To do anything to undermine (USF's status as a preeminent university) would be crazy. We're going to be in a position where we're going to do the right thing for the right reasons, and that's what we're going to do."

This AD search is just like a football or men's bball coaching search!
Newbie to the AD job. Right now, we don't need that, like football didn't need an unproven assistant taking over.
Another AD from a major program. Utah took what's his name from us...
A retread hire --Hey, Texas, thanks, again! Retreads always come with baggage. But they are cheaper! They need to be cheaper or sponsored.
-
My only concern with Jurich is his name and current reputation with college football's big wheels. Where does he stand now? Do most coaches, ADs and presidents believe he ran a shady operation at Louisville?
It's all about who you know (that has money and power) in NCAA football.
If there's a dark cloud over him, we don't need that.
I have no idea; I didn't follow things that closely with how it all played out at Louisville.
Let's say a P5 slot opens up in the future and Jurich is the AD. And one of the presidents says, "I'm not voting for South Florida because of you know who."
Again, I'm speculating! I have no idea.

The arrow points to LSU first!
"USF's stand is we accepted him based on his LSU transcript. He did need a lot of tutoring, though."

We basically need to hire somebody the USF Athletics budget can't afford. The person would then bring in more money than the department pays him/her -by many folds.
If we go cheap, it's going to be a yawn-hire.

All I can say is I'm glad that we aren't in search of a football coach or a men's bball coach this time of the year. Amen.
If you told me after what's his name took the extension that we'd be searching for a new AD, I'd say, "very unlikely." But here we are.
Football and Basketball commits back out; players transfer; coaches take other jobs; and AD's go for bigger money.
Maybe the only true, 100% Bull at USF Athletics is Rocky!

I don't want to be negative. But the only thing I know for sure about the upcoming season is our signature play: HB dive.

Please check to see if the person has his/her degree in hand before making the offer.

I watch them all. There are diamonds in every rough. How can one make a 2017 highlight video without the McCants Knight drag?
I've watched the 2017 UCF game several times. Each to his own, but that was a whale of a football game and a hell of a performance by Q. That game is a classic.
I want to see it again. But I haven't found enough strength to do it. Losing --especially to them-- makes it really tough to bear, again. I might go years before watching that game again, and I know it was a great game.

Buddy is a solid 325 too. Dont see much baby fat on him. He shall get many late offers from the upper echelon of the P5
I bet he works out, too.

Curious, do you Bulls re-watch games when USF lost? I can't do it. The pain is too much. For example, I want to see the USF - Buttgers game where we got it stolen from us, but I can't do. And I didn't even watch the game when it was live; I listened on the radio while driving at the time.
-
I "made" the shirt because it seems like I'm always hoping the bball would turn the corner at some point -maybe "next season"? I've been feeling this way since the Dobras and Co. days.
I've only been rewarded once since. And then USF went and fired the coach. To do what? Hire a guy with no degree and then hire another guy who made the program even worse than our average bad years. At the lowest point we had how many players on the roster and no prospects for incoming talent?
I don't even know if we are even at the place where Stan left the program when he was fired.
Tell me the dark empress runs a good show... Right!

Curious, the scrub schools from the P5 conferences (respective to the either or both of the 2 sports they stink at), are they paying football and men's bball coaches the same as the other P5 teams that win consistently?
Those schools are getting a lot of cash. I'm wondering if they are spending it on sports or just hoarding it up for other purposes.

This is a tough time of the year with no football.

My problem with ADs taking other AD jobs is that --the person is supposed to represent the entire athletics department. They do the hiring and all of that. When the big cheese signs an extension and then takes another gig, that just says to me there's no trust whatsoever: dollars, baby!
Mark Harlan is dead to me.

The A.D. has to be able to do more in order to run an athletic department properly. We all loved Lee Roy, but he made one hire during his tenure - Robert McCullum. I can't forgive him for that one.
We all thought he was the worst --actually, he was light years ahead of what's his name that was just fired! New lows... Yay!

We need an AD who's not one that left another AD-related job elsewhere. USF was built from people who love the university. Joe or Mary from an AD-related job from another university just doesn't seem like the right timing for this hire. We need funding and leadership that bring USF and Tampa together.

My only thought is this: people make decisions based on their feelings. He's decided to come back to USF after many years, which means he has good feelings about the place. He probably didn't need the money (speculation).
Sooo, that warms my Bull heart. I hate people in important Bull positions who do it for the money and say, "Go Bulls!" mostly because of the paycheck.
This looks to be an improvement on what's his name @Utah. Hey, he got the seal of approval from LRS and that's good enough for me.
