  1. 1. Men's bball never got any love from USF Athletics; everything was football (I'm not saying that it was the wrong move).

    2. Stan, before he was fired, finally got the facilities that he desperately needed.

    3. Then, USF got snake bit twice, with hiring what's his name without a degree, and then threw money at somebody who didn't do anything with the program but made it worse. As you recall, we really didn't have an AD at the time; he was just getting the job.

    4. Men's bball was left in shambles and ashes after what's his name was fired. Thank goodness the NCAA didn't take a hammer to us for the violations. I guess we had nothing that they could take away! This past season was just a season of filling the roster and getting started again after the dumpster was put out.

    5. Men's bball needs us!   <---------------------Please don't give up on the program.

"It's (an) unbelievable situation for me, and I think it will be a rewarding experience," Dollar said in the statement.

"I'm looking forward to seeing my family on a regular basis and high school teammates and guys I competed against growing up, and high school and AAU coaches who I know both from when I was playing and my career as a college coach."

That, right, there is the why.

    Good luck, Mr. Dollar!

All great on my end. 13-0, national champs*!

But no really. The USF season was kind of a mixed bag, at least from my outside perspective. Fell short of preseason expectations since many had USF going undefeated but ended with 2 losses instead. And it sucks even more when your rival has the season you were supposed to have. But it still added another 10 win top 25 season to your resume, now in back to back seasons.

From a purely unbiased take, I hated that Nebraska took your coach. It made both Florida schools look "small." Furthermore, it belittled the season for your team and made the great USF-UCF game as a battle between "lesser teams." How good is a season when another school comes in and takes a coach away -right a their celebratory moment during a big game? Look, anyone can say anything about loyalty (to Nebraska) and all of that when a coach leaves. But it comes down to money. Frost would not have gone to the corn fields for less money!

  4. What's your final stand on this past football season? Let's say it's ten years from now and someone asks about 2017. What do you tell the person?

    My take is this:

Could have been one of the best seasons at USF. We had so much offensive talent, including the best-ever QB at USF and some great RBs. When Ca$h went to Oregon, it all went downhill from there... We all thought Strong and his staff would just come in, tweak, and it's instant success. Nope! The defense improved but that was all. We had no business losing to Houston. The UCF game was a great game. We just got snake bit at the end. Great bowl win. Good season, I would say. Fun year. What an awesome bunch of seniors and guys who rebuilt USF from the bottom up; they put USF back on the map.

TAMPA — On the mid-November night when USF honored its 23 seniors with a pregame ceremony on the Raymond James Stadium field, only 22 participated.

Nose tackle Deadrin Senat, who had been without a parent more than two years, didn’t want to engage in such a familial moment with a proxy. So on a night of pageantry, pomp and recognition, he chose to go unrecognized.

"I couldn’t walk in with my parents, (and) I felt like nobody can replace them," Senat said.

  7. I'm going to look at this season as the culmination of the last four years.

We really stunk badly four years ago. And it seemed like football was in the ICU.

It took a long time to climb out, two years to be exact. All the stuff with Mike White at the helm (I meant how he was utilized badly, etc.) and all the hand clapping before the snaps. Yikes!

We had a good year last season, and then we lost the head coach. Enter a new head coach and many new assistants.

By all standards from four years ago, we had a good season again.

The program is much, much better than where it was four years ago.

And we got to witness some really special players; they and the other guys rebuilt USF football.

    Go Bulls!
