The leftover players are not talented enough to be coached imo. I saw some of the most unathletic players on the field for USF ever yesterday. I may not be a professional scout, but there is no NFL talent here.

There's almost no AAC talent here. And you could argue not much more FBS level talent. It's just the stark reality.

He actually looks worse than last year which is sort of troubling.  But yeah dude should never play here again unless all the other on roster are unable to take a snap.

If that happens you have a contest and pull one of the students out of the stands rather than put McCloud back in, or anyone on the roster who's been behind center and can hand the ball off.

    sure-- losing is disappointing.

    This season has stunk.

Has it been an ideal way to start with the enormous amount of stuff going on from a pandemic standpoint--- for everyone but especially a team that is trying to fix SO MANY problems? Hell no.

No one is going to argue with the OP that this has not been a pain in the arse for all the fans. But ultimately-- what is the point of this thread?

Making sure the coaches are held accountable? ALWAYS SHOULD BE

Getting better players on the team? Yes please.

But to not even give a coach the benefit of a single year before going crazy about it -- that seems both pointless and ineffective. Comparing him to CCS is pointless-- CCS inherited what appeared to be a working/winning squad. CJS came into a complete sheet show. Stop believing the "we have so much talent" lies being fed by peoples general expectations.

And understand this-- I have no answers. There are no simple answers. The OP wants us to somehow make this some ultimate thread to blame the coaches--- fine-- they are to blame. So should some of our fans as well-- the ones who every season show up with outlandish expectations. Sure-- we want to be competitive. WE ARE NOT COMPETITIVE AT ALL. That is not going to change any faster than the lack of winning. It will be a bumpy ride--- but the best part of that is that once we have truly reached rock bottom, odds are we will start to improve.

So enough with the grandstanding and huge gestures. Just be a fan and try to get through this. WE can't do much more --- unless one of you is some sort of HUGE DONOR that has some say in how things are run. And if you are -- get to work you slackarse! CUz none of us has any say or pull with how things are run PERIOD. All the well written posts in the world are not going to fix jack SQUAT!

My only knock on the coaching staff is the love affair with McCloud. Maybe they aren't facing reality of both his talent and the fact that the season is a write off. I can understand they think he might give us the best chance to win but that doesn't matter anymore. He's not the future. Develop someone else.

I thought yesterday was the first time this team had quit on CJS. But, now I think that would've had to start to quit.

And please STOP with the covid excuse. Yes, we had 13 players out. What? Are we the only team that can't field a decent team? I know depth is a problem, but this BS is ridiculous.

I told my wife on the way home last night that the ONLY good thing about this team is that I don't even get mad anymore.

Houston had 12 players out.  We probably have less than 5 first string AAC players on the roster. Even with a full roster the talent just isn't there.

I saw give Fortin, Smith, and Marsh each playing time for the rest of the year. Dollison and Battie look goof for freshmen. We really need to hit  portal hard for talent in this order: OL,DL,LB,DB, WR, RB, TE, and QB. I would love to find a stud QB to transfer her but I doubt we will.

Battie and Dollison will be epic eventually.
I don't care who is injured, the season was long dead, so even if CJS thinks McCloud gives us the best chance to win he needs to go with Marsh if the other two are injured to build for the future. Though I'm not sure any QB on the roster is the future, but if we are going to have Marsh around, give him the remaining games if Fortin isn't able to play.

On the D side, I don't see anything along the lines of Dollison and Battie.

So much for my prediction that this would be a close game that goes down to the wire. Boy was I wrong.  I just thought we would build off the momentum of playing pretty well against Memphis.  This team is so fragile and mostly consistently bad.

We have ALOT of work to do.  Ready for Basketball!

Had Noah been quarterback it might have been competitive.

    No...90% suck ass

The denial is strong with some. We have a handful of middle of the road players who can "compete" at the mid level of the conference but it is a blatant fact that CCS left us with players who are not at the level of AAC football. Or maybe even CUSA level.

Stop lol...Johnson is better then McCloud and would have started today...he actually brings life to the offense...this is significant...him not starting sucked the life out of the offense before the ball was even kicked off...according to your logic we should have had a similar performance on offense last week but we didn't...because...drum roll...we had a better qb back there

The incessant use of McCloud, who is demonstrably not talented enough for this level, especially with this O-line mystifies me. It's my one knock on the coaching staff.
