The season we made it to the NCAA tournament was a down year for almost every team in the Big East. That was an anomaly and a perfect scenario for the Bulls. That team also played with a lot of heart/ hard work and leadership in Ron Anderson Jr. and at times even Augustus Gilchrist. "Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard." That team just seemed to want it more than this one ever showed. Also, this isn't a down year for the conference. In 2012 you had UCONN, Pitt, and Villanova all in the bottom half of the conference. Our third place team, Notre Dame, even had 10 losses on the season. If you lower the level of the competition it's easier to meet in the middle and give the underdog a chance.

I'm simply mocking the repetitive things people say on this board to justify us losing in everything all the time when it matters. Being positive and willing the team to win doesn't actually make a team win. More money and better administration, coaches, and players do that. The girls played very good but they played just enough to be USF, not great. They played with heart but pretending everyone is satisfied with continued medocrity isn't acceptable. I won't bring this board down with anymore "poor attitude" but come on, some of the things said in these threads after ALMOST winning but losing again is laughable.

This team will struggle some next season with Orekova and McDonald gone and only 2 seniors on the whole team. Let's just say it now instead of waiting until the end of next season and get it over with, "we lost 2 seniors in McDonald and Orekova, we're young, this was a rebuilding year, we'll get 'em next season when Williams is a senior & a total of 5 seniors on the team! We'll make the tournament for sure in 2016!" "We're a baseball school!" "We're a softball school!" "We're a men's soccer school!" "We're a men's golf school!" "We're a football school!" Lol jk about that one. Always looking ahead to the future because no one knows what it feels like to fail in the future yet.

You're 100% correct. It's as simple as winning: if USF was 23-4 (11-3) right now with a #10 sitting next to our name on the television scoreboard, the Sundome would fill up to capacity, no doubt. It's all about winning. The cheesy little distractions ("entertainment") is only necessary to draw people out to a game for a losing team. I've never once turned on the tv to a game where the #10 team is playing in front of 2,000 fans at home, especially at a school that has little success on the court like USF. The dome would be packed if we could ever have a huge season like that. You think when Witchita State started their season last year that it was filled? NOPE. That Final Four run surely brought in the crowds and then having continued success this season as the new #2 team in the country has their place packed! People love to love a winner. Just win.
