  1. I'm not doubting there was something pathological about the exchange you're alluding to.
  2. Except you haven't heard a single word out of CWT denying any of this. In fact there's loads of evidence suggesting that everything Litton said is true. The Bulls DID use him as a de facto recruiter. There's plenty of evidence of that. I don't know how credibility can possibly come into it when there's no statement that you have to determine is true or not. If CWT steps up and says what Chase is saying isn't true, he really de-committed because he expected an offer from Florida, then so be it. Let's determine who is more credible. That hasn't happened. I'm willing to bet USF's response to hearing Litton say all this was just, "Well ****...I wish he would have let us know he wasn't as comfortable with the arrangement." Which is why I believe that what happened was just an error in communication, an unfortunate situation that needs to be learned from. But no. Everyone wants the kid to be the devil in this. They demand it because they like wearing t-shirts and cheering for touchdowns.
  3. You're just making stuff up now. The kid, thought he was gonna get a UF offer, he bailed without telling the coaches, Came back with some half assed apologies, got his offer pulled and is now trying to make up an alternative theory. How many times you gonna have to get bounced off that Turnip Truck Parrot?? The irony of this post is delicious.
  4. You know why I'm trying to empathize with Litton's point of view on all this? Because that's exactly what I would do if I were USF's coaches. And if you really think about things that way, certain things start to make sense. You get a kid all excited with talk of a "Tampa dynasty" and getting all the Tampa talent to stay here. He gets excited and he goes along with it. But then you start taking him for granted. Every phone call is about telling him to start putting pressure on this guy or this guy to come here. In the mean time, Tyler Harris is still coming to your recruiting events. You've still got an offer out there for Wanky Flowers. Both are out of town guys. What if Chase looks at that and starts thinking...man, they don't want me to QB for them, they just want me to help them bring in all the Tampa talent and then they'll still bring in some other QB they like better from Miami or Georgia. Bottom line if I'm the USF coaches I look at that situation thinking we need to learn a lesson from it.
  5. To me that stuff only corroborates what he is saying.
  6. Absolutely. I haven't said a single negative word about Tajee Fullwood's response. You don't hear me throwing out accusations of immaturity or conduct detrimental to the team (remember, for all we know Chase Litton could still be in play for USF). He's a 17 year old kid reacting emotionally to something. But let's not pretend his emotion-laden curse rampage reaction should be held up as the model of rational response to a complicated issue, either.
  7. If Litton is doing what they're asking him to do then of course he's looking like he's on board with that whole approach. But at some point you might get tired of it. As to ignoring the other side, first off I'm not trying to ignore it at all, we just don't have word one from anyone about the other side of the story so I don't know how I'm supposed to address a blank space on a page. Second, if you're sensing that I place a little more blame on the ADULTS involved in the situation...then you're correct. This is a results-based business. If they lose games on Saturday, no fan, no media, no advertiser or anyone else is going to say...well, that's OK...I mean that 17 year old kid that de-committed that could've helped you win this game was totally being immature. It's not your fault. That's not going to happen. You have to learn to handle people. You have to read them, empathize, and handle them the right way. And we're talking about 15, 16, 17 year old kids here. You have to understand their level and act accordingly. That's why you have to operate with a "customer is always right" attiude. If there was a miscommunication that sends Stanley Clerveaux on a twitter rampage promising that he's going to commit to whoever is playing USF and he's going to catch as many touchdowns as he can on you, what do you do? Do you cross your arms, get belligerant and say "It's not my fault that 17 year old kid is a MORON and got the wrong idea. Fine, go somewhere else, see if I care." Or do you be the adult in the situation, focus on what you could have done to prevent that miscommunication, and do what is best for your program and not what is best for your ego? If you want to know where I'm coming from on all this, that's where I'm coming from on all this.
  8. Yes the 17 year old kid going on a curse-laden twitter rampage is totally approaching this whole subject rationally. LMAO. Can't say I'm surprised you would say that though.
  9. Alright I can see that emotions are running way too high on this subject and neither rationality nor compassion are going to prevail so I'll go ahead and step out of this subject.
  10. It's been quite a while since I was 17, but I would think a 17-year old might be flattered that the team thinks so highly of me that they think others should feel the same way, and are saying, "come join us, and Chase Litton will be throwing TD passes to you for the next 4 years..." What kid would realistically not LOVE that? I feel what you're saying but that's not precisely what Chase is describing. He's saying that most of the time when the team was contacting him or calling him, they were telling him to help them recruit someone. That's a lot different. Simply put, he felt like he was being pimped.
  11. I'm an empathetic guy. I try not to cast judgment on people. I try to understand their point of view. Hence, I try and not be so quick or vicious in judgment. However there are people that I have almost zero respect for, because I have made every attempt to see their point of view and still come away feeling that they are selfish, shallow, delusional people. And it always surprises me when I end up feeling that way about someone, specifically because I make every effort to avoid that conclusion.
  12. Well that explains it. To me that's a lesson learned for this coaching staff. They were obviously a little too zealous in how they used Litton to try and lure in all the other kids around the area. People don't imagine how tough a position that can be for anyone, let alone a 17 year old kid. If you've got respect for the decision making process and how all these kids need to do what is best for them and their futures, yet you've got the team you committed to essentially pimping you out to try and convince them to make a life altering decision...I would be pretty conflicted too. I would feel a bit used. There's an insensitivity when you put a kid in that kind of position. It's like a parent asking their kid "why don't you talk to all your little friends and see if their parents need an insurance agent, here give them my card". Not everyone is comfortable with being turned from athlete into car salesman. Essentially when Chase de-committed, he was telling them...I'm not doing this for you anymore. I may end up there, if you still want me, but I'm not going to keep being pimped by you guys all year like this.
  13. I would be a little disappointed if we grabbed Joc Ellison and closed up the position to where we're not accepting Ryeshene Bronson. But stylistically speaking, it would actually be a real nice mixture to accept all three. Bronson right now is only a 4.55 to 4.60 kind of guy but part of that is training. He's naturally fast and needs to be polished to get faster. His game is still a lot about quickness and speed. Clerveaux has a power game. He's a catch in traffic kind of guy that needs to work on his routes a little more. Joc Ellison is your prototypical slot player.
  14. I'm not sure I understand what McGough's dad is trying to say though. Why would Chase Litton feel "pressure" to de-commit from USF because some people in UF were floating rumors that he was going to de-commit? That would be like if at my office I caught wind that there's a rumor floating around that I'm going to quit, and so I said to myself "Well ****, I guess I've got to quit." It doesn't pass the smell test.
  15. I consider him a DEEP project as a quarterback though and you'd have to bring him along pretty slow. I'd love to have him but he's got to be like a 1-B to a 1-A that you feel more confident about, like a Chase Litton or Tyler Harris. Will say this though, Bulls picked up a receiver that would probably jive well with Wanky Flowers. Stanley Clerveaux is great at coming down with contested balls in traffic and when Wanky breaks the pocket he's going to be going deep a lot and asking his receiver to tag his route deep and then come down with the contested football.
  16. Either this staff knows what it's doing, or we just have unusually similar tastes...because many of these smaller level recruits are guys I had come to view as strongly underrated. Speaking about Stanley Clerveaux, Nick Nataro, Chris Jones, Michael Galati and Chase Litton (yes, he still counts even though he de-committed). I wasn't so hot on the Bruno Reagan commit when people thought he was an OL because I thought he should be a DT and then I heard that's exactly what they're going to do with him, play him at DT. These guys and I are just on a remarkably similar wavelength this recruiting season. Doesn't mean they're right. Doesn't mean I'm right. Just an odd coincidence.
  17. I really like the look of Chris Jones and Devin Abraham among the DB class.
  18. I'm gonna try and pull up some of my other comments about him from the past so that I don't have to type out like a whole new thing about why I like him. 6/28/2013 6/28/2013 7/5/2013 I could swear I've posted more. But I've definitely looked at a lot of the guy's tape off HUDL. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/406466/#highlights/43399408 I even took one of my draft tricks and looked for film that was chosen for highlights of his QB and RB so that I could get a good look at Galati on an every down basis when he wasn't supposed to be a highlight. The dude just plain checked out. Very solid player. This is the HUDL highlight page of the team's primary RB. It might as well be a Michael Galati highlight reel. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1438907/#highlights/52549581 This was (thus far) the best offensive lineman's tape that I'd seen among guys connected with South Florida.
  19. Well I think USF is going to take two WRs, could be wrong but I believe I had heard that was their intention. I like Holland and all but Ryeshene is on another level from a talent standpoint, if he's got his head straight on his shoulders.
  20. Wow, these guys are picking up my favorites left and right! And this one was an obscure one, too.
  21. Well according to Singer's sources the hold up was just that Willie T hadn't even got a chance to look at him yet. I'll take that at face value. It happens. They cleared it up and once they did it appears he got a commitable offer. Not sure why we'd assume that Kendrick Holland was more desirable to the Bulls than Stanley Clerveaux. The tape doesn't necessarily suggest it.
  22. Inappropriate attitude to be displaying about a 17 year old kid, IMO.
  23. The "other QBs could come in" argument is true for any school he would have signed with. As for who else they have at the position, I doubt they have anyone that Asiantii needs to be worried about. Aside from Woulard, they have three Freshman, one redshirt Sophomore (Hundley) and one Senior. The Senior is obviously a non-factor. Mike Fafaul is an unrated type of recruit. Jerry Neuheisel got there because of daddy but was a low ranked recruit. T.J. Millweard is the toughest competition, but not on par with Woulard. You were saying he made a curious decision. I was attempting to give some clarity since you were confused as to why it would be a desirable spot for Woulard.
  24. Thought it was a pretty smart decision. He heads to a school with a former pro coach running a pro style system in an offense-oriented conference. Brett Hundley has the eye of many NFL scouts. That guy could be gone after 2013. I know people don't think so, but I'm hearing whispers that he's thought of highly enough by scouts that if he puts together a great year this year, that could happen. I think Woulard knows he's not sitting the bench for more than one year, two years tops. He's not sitting for three years, that's for sure. And you look at the Pac-12 right now...Oregon loses Chip Kelly and USC is heading into a downward spiral. UCLA could find themselves primarily battling Stanford for dominance in that conference, and traditionally Stanford is not a dominant Pac team. There's got to be some thought that the Harbaugh/Luck magic will wear off there, eventually.
