  1. I think primarily Twitter is where Chase is feeling the brunt of the "haters". And I have zero doubt that they're there. Just in this thread there are plenty people hating all over the place instead of understanding that a 17 year old kid is having a hard time making a decision that will seriously influence the rest of his life.
  2. If the bottom line to come out of all this is that the Bulls snag Tyler Harris instead of Chase Litton, I'm fine with it. I had those guys as the top pro passing prospects for the Bulls. And if you believe me, I actually had Harris ahead of Litton by a hair. But I don't think people should be turning on and completely hating Litton. He could have handled this better but at the same time, this is pretty **** common. What was the saying? Verbal commitments aren't worth the paper they're NOT printed on? Guy could still be in play for South Florida and I for one would be happy to have him, although my focus would be on Tyler Harris first, only because Litton seems really up in the air right now.
  3. I just don't think Michigan State is all that great this year. I think when we beat Notre Dame in 2011, the Irish were better than Michigan State is in 2013. I guess you could say USF is worse because of the QB situation and that's fair, but I think USF still has a history of starting well. I dunno. Maybe it's just me. I view a 3-0 start as actually doable.
  4. I think he's said outright publicly before that he doesn't plan to commit until partway through the season. Think he even said he wants to see how certain teams play. Essentially it implied to me that he wants to see if the Willie Taggart hype is going to translate on the field or not. No pressure or anything, lol. If the Bulls can upset Michigan State and go 3-0 to start out then if I were the coaches I would use the upcoming bye week and a wave of positive sentiment to lean pretty hard on Vincent and get him to commit before the team faces a tough stretch that includes Miami, Cincinnati and Louisville.
  5. Is true. I definitely looked at him and kept seeing T.Y. Hilton pop into my head.
  6. Let's not go there. Every draft pick in the history of the NFL has felt disrespected by the teams that didn't take them and they feel motivated to show them what a mistake they made, and there's ALWAYS one or two teams in particular that for whatever reason the player really thought he'd go there and he feels the sting and starts talking about making them pay. Every draft pick ever...except for #1 overall picks. From Barry Sanders to Dan Marino to Warren Sapp to you name him. So let's not act like just because a kid is upset the team he wanted didn't want him back, he's all the sudden a locker room cancer. He has a right to be upset.
  7. Wish List: Ryeshene Bronson, Stanley Clerveaux, Kendrick Holland, Lawrence Lee, Will Dawkins, Trevon Lee Consolations: Kenric Young, Jocqui Ellison, Gabe McClary, Emanuel Beal, Johnnie Dixon The Rest: Jarry Williams, Garrett Johnson, Raheem Harvey, Derrick Ingram, Kendrick Edwards, Krenwick Sanders
  8. Bloody hell. He committed to Missouri. Was one of my favorites from among WRs talked about on here...right up there with Ryeshene Bronson, Kendrick Holland and Stanley Clerveaux.
  9. I see Vincent Jackson as a potential opportunity. He's obviously an excellent prospect and has offers from all over the place. Just about every team in the country would like to easily waltz into the Tampa area and pluck talents like he and George Campbell away, like Florida did with Vernon Hargreaves (just like about every other major team in the country tried to do). If you strip a Vincent Jackson away from those teams I think you're sending them a message, that there's now a wall around the Tampa Bay area and it's not going to be easy to penetrate that wall. Pat Hill did something similar at Fresno State.
  10. Have you talked to Stanley Clerveaux about his misunderstanding with USF? I know he blew up about it at first and then some time later said on twitter that he just got off the phone with coaches and they explained the source of the misunderstanding and everything is "ALL good"...but I'm just wondering if everything being "ALL good" means he's still targeting USF as his top school or if they've decided to part ways on good terms.
  11. That's a lot of DBs if they also pick up Mazzi Wilkins. Already they're stretching it.
  12. I agree with that. Avoiding having to play against Michael Dyer would rank VERY low amongst Charlie Strong's reasons for bringing Michael Dyer aboard at Louisville. Which means, it might be an idea that actually crosses his mind at some point, but it will probably be immediately dismissed as a reason to do it or not do it. He would focus on the right reasons.
  13. You could probably say this about Charlie Strong as well but Willie Taggart's recommendation carries weight in certain circles within the NFL. Not just from a talent standpoint but from a character standpoint. If Dyer came to South Florida and impressed Willie off the field to where he got Willie's recommendation, that would help him accomplish his #1 goal of rehabbing his reputation. Everyone knows the kid's got talent. The NFL doesn't currently think he's capable of keeping his nose clean.
  14. He's already committed to South Florida once. He did so for a reason. His brother may have convinced him he decided too soon but it would be plain dumb IMO to not consider South Florida to still be in the mix, unless something happened to sour the relationship (a la Clerveaux).
  15. Wow. That guy's tape as a corner is very impressive. That's a nice find. Wonder why he's so underfollowed.
  16. They're always somewhat battle tested. There's always competition. Question is who did they battle with, who did they beat? I don't know how interested I am in someone that wins battles against Mike White and Steven Bench. But I'm interested in the man that can beat Chase Litton or Tyler Harris.
  17. That's true. Immediately after committing he got a couple of his homies to commit and so that would make it all the harder for him to reneg on it just because they got another QB for him to compete with. He would just have to put everything he had into winning the competition...and that could be scary because Litton's a very talented young man. Slam home the proper motivation and you could get a good player.
  18. That's just ridiculous, especially to infer it from an off the cuff Twitter remark. Kid is obviously a supreme competitor or he wouldn't be where he is. Last year he was pissed when he didn't get to lead Team Tampa ahead of Pete Dinovo. Doesn't sound like someone shrinking from competition, sounds like someone aching to get on the field and compete. Didn't he quit the team over that situation? Hah, yeah actually he did. But he apologized to his teammates for it and has talked about it publicly before as being a big mistake on his part. That's probably the best evidence for an assertion that he would reneg on the Bulls should they also snag Tyler Harris...as opposed to an ambiguous twitter comment.
  19. That statement could also be interpreted to mean that he may have to hurry up and commit as the available spots are disappearing. Very true. And that's exactly what happened.
  20. I don't recall him saying that. I recall him remarking that he was surprised, and then he congratulated the Bulls and Flowers.
  21. If Harris committed I don't know if Litton would stay committed. It looked like Litton was going to look elsewhere when Flowers committed to us. Flowers left then Litton immediately hopped aboard. I don't think he's a fan of competition, especially from a comparable QB. I'm not sure I really see any basis for this. What exactly made you think he had scratched USF off the list when Wanky Flowers committed? All indications are the Flowers episode actually sped Litton up on his timeline. You could say that's because Flowers decommitted, but Flowers isn't really out of the picture even now. He may have pulled off his initial commitment because of his brother, but he's still got USF on the mind and hasn't committed anywhere else.
  22. Wow. That's really cool that he's still considering USF pretty strongly. A while ago I sat down and took a look at all of the quarterbacks that had been talked about around here as potential recruits. I never in a million years thought USF would get both Tyler Harris and Chase Litton because they're too similar in quality and style...but they were the top two quarterbacks in my eyes. And that included guys like Sean White and Michael O'Connor, Wanky Flowers and Alin Edouard. What a coup it would be to pull both guys in. I love Chase Litton but I like Tyler Harris just as much. Reminds me of Jay Cutler.
