I believe> Anyone can join the Alumni Assoc now...Which I find a bit odd but hey...their trying to build their numbers..but now membership is also free???  Hmm...besides my Life membership cost I did, there were years of paying member dues..?? Many strange things going on. Not many alumni members for the number of people that graduated from good old USF...

The membership change isn't about building the reported membership count. It's about being clear that USFAA works for all alumni, not just those who pay into it. As someone who has run one of the USFAA chapters, I've seen first-hand that engagement is hurt by the perception that you need to be a dues-paying member to take part in any official USFAA activities. In reality, we were hosting activities for all alumni and friends of USF regardless of their membership status.

This no-fee membership is the model the most alumni associations are moving towards and has been a trend over the last decade or so.

official USF accounts wouldn’t be tweeting about this unless there was a plan behind the scenes to start fundraising…I’d hope

Law, Kelly, Scott, and Weatherford all spoke today. Weatherford is the most important of that group to make such a statement because his board has control on whether or not such a project can happen. This is the first I've heard of the BOT being in support of an OCS.

I also heard on TOS that Currall basically hamstrung the IPF building until it was 100% funded. **** fool move if true. We needed that a year ago.

While I wasn't a huge fan of Currall, I'll defend him a bit here. That was a de facto state wide policy going back to Genshaft's last year. The state university system has been tough on large projects the last few years and several projects across the state have been held up. Having all of the funds from donations allows the project to move forward.

  4. When we were all digital in 2019, the Ticketmaster app would log you out between the walk from the parking lot to the gates. While iPhone users were able to save tickets to their phones, the same functionality wasn't available on Android until half way through the season.

What's worse is when you have several tickets in your account that need to be shared with other people. Transferring is just a couple taps away but then there's the hidden cost of getting the receiver setup to actually accept and use the tickets. The last 10-15 minutes of our tailgate is dedicated to tech support.

Understood, that’s why I didn’t say “USF” soccer. It looks like that sport has a lot Thursday games ncaa wise.

That's the case right now but is set to change in the next couple years. Coaches (including ours) have been working on getting the sport to run year round rather than over one semester. Once that's done, teams will play a game a week and two games a week will become a rarity. Of course, this will mean more conflicts with Saturday football.

Why go “all in” now? If we are left out of realignment we won’t need these fancy facilities - the money would be better used fo field a decent coaching staff for the next several years or so until the wheel starts turning again.

Getting coaches on board is a recruiting game similar to players. Without demonstrating investment in facilities, no promising coach is going to come on board.

Couldn't find anything specific for college (although sure it's out there) but it looks like it doesn't matter when in the game the red card is given, it's a minimum 1 game suspension that accompanies the ejection.

That's correct. With her reaction after the ejection, I wouldn't be surprised to see her get more than one game too.

The red card is frustrating because it seemed like a clear offsides which means play should've been stopped before the foul occurred. I didn't have a great angle but Darek Sharp tweeted the same thought.

Also I can't find the home slate anywhere online. I know we have 9 conference home games, does anyone have the full list of ooc home games?

The full schedule hasn't been released yet but there's someone who tracks scheduling across D1 who has the following OOC home games for us. No clue on whether or not the Auburn game will be included.

    • 11/9 - Bethune Cookman
    • 11/13 - Georgia Southern
    • 11/15 - North Carolina A&T
    • 11/24 - Hampton
    • 12/3 - South Carolina State
    • 12/14 - Austin Peay
    • 12/29 - Mississippi Valley State

Regardless if it’s exhibition, not beating two lower level athletic programs is not a good sign and should not be brushed off so easily.

We had similar experiences in the Kiefer years. One notable example is when we lost an exhibition to Jacksonville the year we made an Elite Eight run.

We're a ways off from having a team like that again but the team isn't as far down as these two performances would suggest.

They've played two exhibitions, losing to Univ. of Tampa and tying St. Leo. These dudes need to get their you-know-what together. What has happened to this program?

Exhibitions don't tell us much about the team and they don't count toward the record for a reason. The entire squad was rotated at least once during this match. Butehorn's probably looking for the right combination of players.
