1. The only way possible I am NOT a season ticket holder is if I am physically unable to attend. If you want big things for this university, you have to realize attendance matters. For the players, for the advertisers, for the conference, etc. Scale back your investment, sure, but put a body in a seat (or standing!).
2. One of the most painful things about this season is the avoidable nature of these losses. We have not been blown out. We have been papercut to death. There is low hanging fruit in firing Cosh, and we do nothing. It's appalling.

the ONLY reason I am not on board with this is because it may turn off recruits. That being said, I'm all on board with people communicating their feelings/passion about this team. I'd rather you be there with a bag than be apathetic.

Wow... How can Holtz sleep at night with those numbers and with no changes. Unreal.

Its one thing to do the wrong thing, its perplexing to say the wrong thing on top of it all. Holtz, you are the ultimate leader of this team. This is not their problem, its your problem.
Ill go as far as to say good for them for having the balls to show a little passion and be sick of the losses, unlike "coach" Holtz.

the conference opponents we have played thus far have a combined record of 12-3. Even taking out the wins against us, that's a 9-3 record.
Correction: 8-4. Still demonstrates same concept.

The three teams we have left to play - Cincy, UConn, Pitt - have a combined record of 2-7.
Can we take comfort in the fact that we've played the best of the Big East? Can we look at the record of the remaining teams and have hope that we can indeed beat these teams?

Excellent points

Woolard has already said Skip's evaluation will come at the end of the season

Excellent. Wishing best of luck to them up in conn

Nothing wrong with that. Yes some guy was unleashing on players and that would be better directed to coaches but I get it... we are all frustrated.
Maybe I am mistaken but I saw Holtz and a fan make extended eye contact as the fan unleashed words I couldnt hear. The booing and shouting was pretty audible. Never seen anything like it at RayJay.

What do we do?
****.
This is appalling.
Anyone who left early missed Holtz getting booed badly as he left the field. Highlight of my night.

Im about to be taken to the hospital. Or arrested. ****.

Its a little late to do this for tonights game, plus there are a few homecoming events already, but NEXT home game, November 3 vs UConn, would anyone here be interested in swinging by an official Bulls Pen tailgate meetup?
We are all the most passionate, not to mention hottest, bulls fans... I think this could be a blast!
If there is enough interest, I can start an official thread after tonight to designate location and contributions.

Was the hat retired before last season began? Because last season sucked too. Aside from the ND win, its been downhill ever since.
2010 was the last hatted season

im so pissed with this defense. im tired of pointing blame, just ******* fix it

figures the GT guy would be the first to comment in the "calling all nerds" post
The thick purple line and dotted red lines look to be the reasons we are losing. Doesn't appear to have to do with the rushing game on either side of the ball.

I am considering wearing a white tee with "HM101" on the back to the SU game, though even your average BP user might not immediately assume that is a BP user name

The attached PDF contains passing and rushing stats from all games this season except the scrimmage against UTC.
I’m not sure what I was trying to dig up. I suppose just general trends in defensive/offensive efficiency. Here are the main conclusions:
Our rushing defense seems to be just fine
1. Opponents’ rushing yards per attempt has been slightly trending downward, though still above the symbolic 3.3
2. On the other hand, rushing attempts per TD also appears to be trending down, though less convincingly (conceptually, opponents score more with less rush attempts)
3. We are about even with our opponents, if not improving, as evidenced by the # of yards they gain per attempt vs our yards/att
Our passing defense has gotten significantly worse as the season goes on
1. Passing attempts / TD has dropped significantly, from about 40 to about 12. Meaning every 12 passing attempts generates a TD. Ouch.
2. Passing yards per ATTEMPT has gone UP. Just a passing attempt in the UL game averaged over 10 yards, or a FIRST DOWN PER ATTEMPT (it’s 7.5ish over the season)
3. Their passing yards vs attempts is increasing versus ours.
Switching to offense, our rushing game is consistent, but passing efficiency is getting worse
1. Rush yds/Attempt is about flat, where as Pass yds/attempt has noticeably dropped.
2. It’s really just the last 3 games (FSU, Tem, UL) where our opponents have better pass yds/attempt than we do. In the first 3, that figure was negative, meaning we were out-passing them per attempt
Again, just trying to dissect what’s going on. Looks like our rushing defense and offense is acceptable, but our ability to defend the pass has gone from bad to worse, and we are losing the ability to move the ball in the passing game.
KEYS TO THE SEASON:
1. FIX THE SECONDARY.
2. UP OUR YDS/ATT. This means land passes in the 5-10 yard range and let our speed extend the play

After the comments made by the College Game day people, I can not think of any reason The Big East would want anything with ESPN
Which were?
Skip can stay another year if....

That is simply not our pitch, and at the end of the day, none of that matters. Look at the classes Charlie Strong was able to bring to UL, a bottom-feeder in a school known for basketball. I'm not a recruiter, I don't know how he did it, but he brought in some amazing commits.
