  1. College football will never be saved until there is a nationwide restructuring.

CF needs to group the teams together so each division makes sense geographically and has some parity amongst the athletic budgets.

You could have 19 7-team divisions where each division champ gets an automatic spot in a 32-team playoff.

    19 auto-bids with 13 at-large spots. The highest ranked 16 auto-qualifiers could get a bye week.

That would be a fun sport to watch.

  2. UCF has had football a lot longer than USF. Them seeing us leap frog them into the Big East and beating them 4 in a row lit a fire under them and they started investing more in athletics and built an OCS.

Now we watched them win 6 in a row and leap frog us into a better conference, which has lit a fire under us to invest more in athletics and build an OCS.

With AAU status, we’ll fit in nicely with the new ACC.

The two schools have such an intertwined history at this point. There is bad blood. I wouldn’t mind never playing them again, unless it’s for a national championship in the playoffs. A real one! 😜

Better than Cincy and SMU (who have both beat us into the P4).

Cinci has had more success in both football and basketball, has a big market too, their own OCS. SMU bought their way in.

Had USF won the last 6 games against ucf, then we'd be in already. Just gotta get the stink of losing off of us, before the ACC members will accept us.

But that's all out of the window right now, isn't it, assuming basketball has the same "rules" as football ..... From an article posted in another thread:

Because after those 2 losses in court, there are no restrictions on the formation and foundation of NIL deals, and no restrictions on player movement.

Translation: When April 16 arrives, anyone can pay any player any amount of money, and any player can freely transfer to any other school — no matter how many times he has previously transferred.

and the portal is already open for basketball. no need to wait until april 16.

It turns out the AAC really wasn’t good at basketball this year and while we overachieved we also didn’t deserve NCAAT. The prognosticators were right to only project 1-2 teams from the AAC it turns out.

if we win 20+ games next year again we’re in, but this was a down/transitional year for the conference. It’s readily apparent unless you’re purely a USF homer.

I disagree. I think UAB lost a close game against a higher seeded opponent. They got lucky in the AAC tourny.

What doesn't make sense to me is why FAU got in over us... They were clearly overrated, losing to a tired Temple team and now out in the first round of the NCAAT. The AAC should be a 2-3 bid league, but the wrong team got sent, because of some recent name recognition from last year.
