  1. And there is this:

ESPN Events has announced that the 2023 Bahamas Bowl will be played at Jerry Richardson Stadium on the campus of UNC Charlotte due to ongoing renovations at...

Talk about your changing landscape of college football.  Who knew I could make a trip to the Bahamas by car in only an hour from my Hickory home?

Maybe the typical USF student would be more inclined to “like sports” if we had a decent football team who played on campus and a basketball team that made the tournament more than once every 20 or so years.  If we are relevant, students will be there.  I think these articles are just written by people who genuinely have no interest in sports even at their own alma mater.  It’s happening, so they need to stop whining and get with the program.

I think in the modern mindset this is just the next logical extension of NIL.  Pay to play and then pay to watch them play.

Sorry to say but I had a dream/nightmare last night about that.  Despite not making it most times the game went into OT. The other team got the ball first and didn't score. So of course USF gets the ball, gets down to the 2 yard line and on 4th down he didn't kick the FG but went for it and didn't make it.  We went 4 possessions each in OT and didn't score and that's when I woke up.

Huh.  I dreamed of Sofia Vergera.  That bourbon ain't doing you no good!

Are you kidding?  It's Sofia who is dreaming of Cousin Reeeeky!  She's got some 'splainin' to do.

  4. Apparently, per this Oracle op piece, won't need a large student section and better provide free concessions.

A roaring stadium of rowdy fans, fascinating lectures packed to the brim with eager young minds and lively homecoming events: a picture of the campus experience...

I remember when I worked my way through school, lived in a travel trailer with my roommate and cooked all our meals to survive on the cheap.  Of course, in those days we walked uphill to and from campus in the snow....

USF isn't going to the SEC guys. ACC when FSU leaves, if we make the CFP in the next few years, MAYBE the B1G gives us a look (if FSU goes to SEC), and of course the B12 SHOULD be interested but who knows, we aren't as additive to them unless we win our conference multiple times.

Focus on winning, build + sell out stadium, and 5-8 years from now we will see how well we did.

I agree. Be careful not to fall I do the delusion of grandeur trap. Realistically I believe USF to the ACC has the best chance at happening compared to other rumors. Maybe the big 12 if the ACC raids them of a few schools and ACC doesn’t want another Florida school. The big ten a lot of crazy events would have to happen but it is not impossible. SEC is not an option. Besides I don’t think USF is even close to a good fit for those schools.

Some here seem to dream of a return to former "glory," so maybe...

I need a bye week myself. Im going to enjoy those 5hrs next Saturday.

Yes, but I'm not sure I like my odds for next Saturday.  I returned from my daughter's straight sets win in their first round of the NC state high school volleyball tournament (where I also won a 50/50 raffle) to find my Bulls and Noles both had comeback wins.  I think I may have used up all my luck in one weekend.

They can call it what they want.

Last years team would not have come back once UConn went up 21-10.

I think folks are a little too sensitive and in denial.  While I do admire that the team hung in there and came back, for those who say "there are no ugly wins," I would send them a tape of that game.  It was not a case study in the art of football by either team, the coaches or the refs.  Still, a win is a win, and hopefully the Bulls will build off of it.

  8. Rice dismantled Tulsa last night.  Don't know if that bodes well for the Bulls or if teams have now just figured us out.

Also flipped over to watch Jordan McCloud lead JMU to another win, this time over Marshall.   More power to him, but it seems I can't turn on a game without seeing some ex-Bull player or coach having success elsewhere.

That **** Rutgers game! Bunch of corruption going on in Piscataway NJ during that game.

The image of that rat **** Schiano sprinting down the sideline to yell at the refs with his stupid 🤬 playsheet flapping around behind him is forever burned in my memory and what I associate with the letters IFP.

In the era now where the Bush Push, Tush Push or Brotherly Shove (or whatever you want to call it) is legal, I would like to revisit the legitimacy of "Illegal forward propulsion."

You really have to love the title of the article.  I haven't read the article yet, but that title.  Wow.  Could you imagine if someone had told you back in July that there would be an Oracle article entitled "USF working to prevent another blowout loss this weekend" in mid October?  When will we stop sucking?

Yes, that is not exactly the standard that we want to set going into any game.

BTW even in our "glory" years we were losing to programs like UAB, FAU and UConn

Not trying to be contrarian, but I really do wonder what qualifies as USF's "glory" years.

Prior to this year we had lost to UAB once by 3 points in 2003, when we went 7-4 and were in the middle of the pack in CUSA, and beat them by 25 in 2004 when we were 4-7 and near the bottom of CUSA.

And before this year we lost to FAU once by 18 points when we went 2-10 and near the bottom of the American, but that year we did at least beat UConn.

I wouldn't call any of those our "glory" years, though I'm not sure myself what I would consider truly "glorious" about any of our past seasons.  Some were pretty good, but it always seemed there was at least one agonizing memory in each.
