  1. L'ville is, to me, the best road trip in the current Big East. Great bars, restaurants and distilleries in Lexington to L'ville corridor. Got to Keeneland race track over in Lexington. Their fans are about as good as you can get as a visiting fan. Did our pre and post game tailgating inside at a bar/restaurant in the area. Got to meet Pasco Bull from the Board. As we handed our ticket to be scanned I got a "hope you win" from the gal scanning. She was from Tampa.

After the game and walking back to the hotel had some good conversations with good wishes from their fans. Told them to rep the Big East well.

Including player and coaches families we probably had 150 - 175 people in our sections.

The game was exciting. Obviously disappointed with the results, but for those who say our team sucks, you couldn't tell it by the L'ville fans afterwards. Had more than one say they were lucky to win and that we had a good team. One told me that that was the most people they had stay until the end of the game all year. An older guy asked if we had a good trip and thanked us for coming up.

Looking forward to new destinations with San Diego, Houston, Dallas, Memphis and Boise. But it will be tough to beat this trip especially since you can drive there.

Glad you had a good trip Rick. Louisville is a fun town. I've had great trips to most Big East games, Pittsburgh, Rutgers via the Big Apple and UConn with Bristol particularly stand out. The road experience is always a big part of the fun (particularly with this team).

  2. I think with the new facility and team, folks should be excited and we may have more turn out for the opening basketball game than for upcoming football games. That would take a crowd of, oh say, 5,000, give or take.

that is highly unlikely - I think our lowest ever turnout for a home football game was about 17K (actual people through the gates)

no way we have less than 10K for any football game-- way too many diehard alumni and students who are football crazy. It's about opportunities-- we have SIX home football games this year-- three left. there are what--- 15 or so home basketball contests.

sorry if you did not mean that literally or possibly from a percentage capacity standpoint

The sarcasm was implied if not explicit.

  3. The radio show was about what you would expect, nothing more or less. The team hasn't given up and has a great attitude, seniors are rallying the team, we can right the ship, second season starts now, etc., etc.

As for the level of fan discourse, fans are generally at their worst when their team is either winning a lot or losing a lot. i would take some of the obnoxious front-running bastads for a change, however.

  4. Louisville is a great trip for everyone but the team. Last time we had a blast up there (not counting the game, of course).

Hey Silverbull, we did win last trip up here, in OT. so the whole trip was a blast.

    Already on our way up.

I wasn't clear, my bad. I was speaking of my last trip to Louisville in 2008, not the team's last trip. That was when Grothe was tossing the ball to the other guys, not BJ. Anyway, have a good visit to the Ville Rick.

  5. Brian Kelly is the real deal...ND D was lights out

Some solid coaches have come through the BE

Yeah no kidding. What a physical game.

As much as I despise the Irish since last year they have rocketed forward while we have plummeted faster and farther than Felix Baumgartner.

  6. Still proud; still wearing USF polos at work. True fans are forged during trying football times like this.

If failure is the forge for fans then we should all be Iron Bulls!

I'll keep wearing the colors, showing up for games and events, cheering and donating. I clearly have a problem.
