You can't possibly be serious comparing this to GB Cheeseheads. Anyway...

The number of people who complain about it is very small. The whole situation is small. If not for the threads on the Bulls Pen it would have been gone or never existed in 2007. Most of us just say -- "hey, if you like it - you do you". We had better head wear over the course of our football years-- the plastic viking horns were popular for a while. The hard hats with the horns were made pretty popular by Mutt and Art Jones et al. I think there was a fake inflatable cow head thing for a while that never really caught on. There was a guy who tried his best to get USF fans to partake in the Mr. 2 Bits cheer. There was the whole Tamplona thing that sort of died off. Remember the time when Grothe sported that Grohawk? We've had lots of attempts to get there but nothing has really stuck or spread-- nothing like the Cheeseheads.

I think most of us just want there to be more fans in the stands however they want to represent. If this war flamingo thing is your deal-- more power to you. No one is stopping you. I just don't see it having the impact some might think it has or will one day become. But the amount of people who are on either side of this issue seems way overblown by the supporters mostly.

Actually yes - I was seriously comparing the two.  From what I know the cheeseheads started with just a few people with styrofoam on their heads much like this has been.  No way was I implying the flamingo heads to be an established fixture (or even a significant presence) at USF athletics like the GB CH. Nor do I believe they will get to that point.  So if that’s where you think I was going, no.

But I’m sure there were at least a few people that grimaced when they first started seeing them as well.

  2. Do the Cheese Heads get this much heat? What’s the difference?

Neither is the mascot.  And “Packers” refers to meat packing - not cheese packing - I just checked.

Both are representative of the their region.

OK - team color.  Not a show stopper in my book.

I can’t believe people are bothered by a small, yes SMALL number of fans who want to do this.

I say, “Party on - thanks for coming!”

Perfect example of a fundamental flaw in too big of a segment of our "fan" base. It's not an FCS game or an FBS game. It's a USF game ....

Yes  And it’s posts like that that make me glad I have such a great group of family and friends that love to tailgate that it really doesn’t matter who is on the field - I’m going have a good time one way or the other.

  4. A lot of talk and worries about the new cards before the season started.  Anyone have any issues?

The process using the cards was seamless to me, but there was no one checking the door into the club near my section.

Any issue with those that sold or transferred?

It was strange not seeing anyone holding up fingers walking into an almost sold out game.

  5. If the answer to printing the tickets is no, I’d love to hear the reasoning behind it.  Can’t help but think that it has to do something with the partnership with TicketMaster, where it forces more accounts for them, which opens a lot more marketing doors and perhaps gives them a cut of the sales to others?  And does this in turn reduce the cost to USF for the whole ticket/processing to where they can now afford to send us a nice box?

Just really curious about this - especially when we all know the technology is there to print.

Any idea how the Club Access works?

Is it just visual or do they need to scan your card?

It says, “CLUB ACCESS” along the side of my cards, so I would say it’s still a visual check.

My friend who has Bucs cards tells me they don’t have to check tickets when going from the stands into the club because they have much better security at the bottom of the club sections.  So really only those that could be club seat holders would be in that area and go through the door.

As you know, nothing stops anyone from coming into the club sections at Bulls games, and there has to be a way to allow those that donate the right amount but choose to sit in “non-club” sections to get in.

John Lewis will be a busy, busy man.

Or maybe we have faith in Mike’s theory:

FYI - I am guessing the ability to print tickets on your account will still be there. I checked my account, and the print button is still there, just not turned on yet (same as past years). This is the way USF basketball did it at least the past year and I think the year before and it worked great.

If anyone can figure out how to print the tickets please let me know. Print was grayed out for me.

I just got an email from USF with .pdf guides for everything but printing the tickets.  At the bottom of the email it says to contact the 1-800-GOBULLS number with any questions.

Interesting that the print button is active for the parking passes though.

And it says right on the pamphlet that came with the tix that you can print them.

I’ll probably wind up calling them.
