  1. Heh, Walt switched to Trick Daddy's "Tuck Ya Ice" this weekend, and Friday night requested that we change it back to the Spanish one because he didn't get a hit. ... After he had several hits the next two days, I don't think we'll need to worry about that one. //I think Chuck would be proud to know his song has touched someone..
  2. I wonder if that takes in to account the bleachers that were removed before the season began, and/or standing room now available.
  3. Actually, the gentleman I heard (from marketing and event mgmt I believe) threw out the number 2300. :shrugs: I know I get a seat at least!
  4. From what I heard today, I believe there is ~850 in general seating, and 1000+ are expected down the first base line and elsewhere. Should be interesting...
  5. Angelberger - "bergy" "angel" Bilardello - "billy" Cardieri - "cardy" Cleveland - "chuck" "cleve" and "big shooter" (not sure how someone came up with that one ;-) ) Consolmagno - "conso" Delaney - "dell" Lau - "la la" "lausy (lousy)" Lewis - "d lew" Maruszak - "maz" "AD" "addy" Otero - "OT" "danny o" Quevedo - "Q" "matty q" Rowe - "row row" Sanford - "red" Taborelli - "tabs" Thomas - "DT" //Those are the ones that came to mind.
  6. Q is getting the starting nod for tomorrow's game.
  7. Quite a question. Depends on how badly we want this win, especially to show some people around the state who the new force to be reckoned with is... I firmly believe any member of our staff would be pumped to go Tuesday night with the Gators in town, and the atmosphere sure to be at the Red. Of course, I don't get a vote in this matter, being a lowly walk-on reliever and all
  8. Good question - I do not believe we as a team have been told. I heard a vague rumor Danny O would pull double duty and throw Tues/Sun this week, but that seems like an outside shot to me. I would look for Quevedo, who has been throwing real well, to get the nod.
  9. Actually, we let the starting pitcher select which uniform he wishes to wear Delaney chose that one, as did DT the previous night. The only hats we have been given at this time are the ones we wear with everything as well as an extremely similar 'practice' version. I will keep an eye out for the green mesh version, though...
  10. Jaspers have been to the Regionals three of the past four years (if I remember correctly) and only lost one starting position player from last years team who beat Nebraska in the Regionals. It's still early in the year for them, so I wouldn't take them lightly. Great win, nonetheless.
  11. Daniel Thomas is scheduled to start.
  12. Danny Otero throws a CG 4H shutout, continually pumping the zone all night long. Brandon Daniels had a 2RBI hit, and Josh Le'Roy had the other RBI for the Bulls. Great team win, great pitching performance.
  13. Tough loss. Stetson hit real well, and we just couldn't make the pitches tonight. We get them twice more this year, so revenge is o' so sweet.
  14. Good question, I'm not sure myself. I'll ask.
  15. The white one was one worn last year, while the green (2) were new ones this season. I wasn't on the squad last year, but that's what I have been told.
  16. /Side note: James Rowe is starting versus Stetson tomorrow, but may or may not be the same who starts against UF the following week. Currently, our rotation has not been set in stone.
  17. Saturday's was a returner from last year, so will have the same flaws.
  18. I don't think we've had a post-game baseball thread without someone suggesting the basketball coach take lessons, be fired, be replaced by CLP, et al....
  19. Stetson is a very solid team, and is up there with the best in the state for sure.
  20. Back to back strong performances by freshman righties out of the pen. Props to Sanford for pumping strikes and keeping us in it. Clutch hit by Dex, and solid relief by Lau and Yuri. Davis pitched well, but had a tough break. Great team W.
  21. From what I remember, it was a good showing attendance-wise... but I saw a small exodus of people as the night went along, particularly when up a few runs. I'm sure the temperature didn't help things much.
  22. 12-7 Bulls. Another W, although not the prettiest. Q and Lau threw real well and kept us in there after a solid 5IP start by DT. Defense was shaky, but Quevedo showed a load of guts by getting through it. 1pm first pitch tomorrow, come out and show your support!
  23. Not the most graceful nor beautiful win, but a W is a W. Gotta get the job done in the late innings, especially against good teams like JU.
