  1. Big Luke, I am too late, but I was a recruiter for a year in NYC, the biggest market there is, and I was always told that when a company has to lose you to offer more money, that can be a red flag. Why would they not put more stock in you to keep you happy and not have to even resort to this. It always about taking care of your own, didnt jimbo teach you anything!
  2. That is one of the better posts that I have seen on this message board. Greg Frey is a stand up guy. He has been so loyal for so long, but you must move to excel. Leavitt has moved around a good amount himself and of course he is not moving now. If you had the chance to start from stratch as leavitt has been able to, why would you get rid of it. This is no way Frey and Leavitts program, it Leavitts and its his baby. What ever success comes from here is directly related to him and nobody else can really say that. (schnellenberger, but lets be for real.)
  3. Much better change, hey, A F'ing GA takes over the Oline. That sounds like what we always do. Next up, two assistant HS coaches. I can't wait. Yeah, they might turn into good coaches or just end up with a few more Hobbie's. Yes!!!!!!!!
  4. One thing Leavitt has always done since the beginning is celebrate a victory on the night of the game. He dances after every win no matter how significant because he know how hard everyone works for victories. Some are a little toned down, but I am sure that was one of his best and wish I could have been in there to see that one.
  5. If you call Jeff down in the equipment room in the USF facility, he does all the ordering for everything athletics
  6. We are one of the game changing performances of the YEAR and won the weekly. There were also two BE teams in the Sportscenter Bowl Championship series and they didnt even have an ACC team on the board. I do understand that there is not a lot of news going on in college football or with us right this minute, but do you guys have to complain about ever **** thing. There is not a bigger USF fan than myself even though I dont post as much as some of the others on this site.
  7. This is not good considering the troubles all of the other schools are having. I guess they can offer the same thing we can. PLAY EARLY
  8. ET, You ask who at Tackle. It should be Levi Newton. For three strong years he held down the Right Tackle position and Derrick Sarosi was only the second guy in school history to start every game in his career at Left Tackle. I do understand that Jones gets the nod, but Levi should definetely gets the other side since he is still in the NFL. Injuries is the only thing holding him out right now. Carothers and Davis were the other two guards with miller rotating in and out on both sides and Herron at center who only missed 4 games in his history due to a knee injury in the beginning of his career.
  9. Danny Verpale was a frosh all american as well. He was after Nicholas.
  10. Most replays come from the both. Coaches have the option of challanging only once and a loss of time out will result in a call that is not overturned. Also, in terms of the Ian Randolph play, Leavitt is on the opposite side of the field and can not see that. I know the coaches in the both have some access to montiors, but it is still a rough one. If WVU goes down and scores late, you will need all the timeouts you can get. I do like how we have conserved our timeouts much better this year. I remember in years past we would burn all of our timeouts by the end of the third and 90% of them were do to being misaligned on defense or special teams.
  11. Here is what ECU talks about on their messege board. OT - Greg from The Wiggles may quit the group -- cBad Wed Nov 29 2006 9:18:34 AM Hate to hear that.....my son is a Wiggles addict at the moment... -- Capital Pirate Wed Nov 29 2006 9:36:06 AM No clue who they are but says they grossed $39 million last year! ** -- SwissPirate Wed Nov 29 2006 9:21:06 AM They are bigger than the Beatles for the 5 and under crowd ** -- bcp Wed Nov 29 2006 9:31:01 AM No 5 and unders yet....... -- SwissPirate Wed Nov 29 2006 9:32:19 AM
  12. Every big time school is like that with the trash talking from the fans. I've been in some stadiums in the south where the father is telling his 7 year old son what to say, and lets just say they are a bunch of 4 letter words. Hostile crowds are not just ones that scream really loud when you score or get a turnover, it is about being in the other teams heads the entire time. When we played Arkansas, the fans were just calling out every player on the sideline in some way shape or form.
  13. Its got to be another failed drug test. There is no other explaination.
  14. I was also told that yesterday on Mike and the Mad dog, which is an AM talk show in the NYC market, Mike Fransesca was talking about us in detail. He said in the next 5 years we will be in the top 10 and if the big 3 dont watch out, they are going to lose a lot of recruits to us. They are affilated with WFAN 660, but I dont know if you can find it on one of their podcasts, but it is worth a shot
  15. I was at Beef's as well, and it was a heart breaker. But remember ECU is the better team and should be in the BE instead of us. Isn't that what the folks in Greensville believe
  16. There is simply nothing else to do in Ann Arbor, MI or Happy Valley, PA. When you compete with Pro teams (no matter how good or bad) and other activities that you can do in the city, its always going to be tuff. Miami, even in its hayday, couldnt sell out the games against rutgers, temple, or any of those other Big East teams that were not doing good at the time, but a Michigan has sold out every game for the last 15 years, something like that. It is not because Michigan doesnt play bad teams, its that THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO DO. You can even look at small town high school teams in the south as well.
  17. Easy on the Verpaele(s). I know both well on and off the field. Kevin was a true leader and did what ever you asked of him. He could read an offense inside and out and even would play QB for the scout team when we played teams like Bowling Green when Harris was there and Kevin was a starter for our team. He may have not been the most gifted athlete in the speed part, but he made up for it in so many way. Danny is almost a CC of his brother as well. He is younger, but he still has that element of reading offenses. We are an aggresive defense and that can be in your favor, but it can cause you to get beat on trip plays as well as the long ball. Also, who would we put there instead.
  18. IMO the critics are the country. I dont think anybody has ever said is he for real or not too much. It is more about USF as a whole. No matter what we've done, 9-2 in 02/going to a bowl game in our first year in the BE, we've never really had anyone talk about us. We have had ESPN Gameday pick Army over us. I realize that they were in Army for a specific reason and they were probably just playing along with the atmosphere, but still. Last week was the first time that I have ever heard us mentioned as a tuff team in either of the conferences BE/CUSA. We have been picked to finish under .500 almost every year in existance and we've done it once. So it is not so much of the critics, it is more about not having anyone talk about you at all and you are one of the leaders in the country in terms of yards and the record is not that bad either
  19. It is great that the Big East is doing well. It means we will be able to compete for the National Championship for the next few years at least, as long as the BE keeps up. This year though, we could be on the outside looking in as a qualified bowl team if we finish 6-6, 7-5. We only get 5 bowl games and Notre Dame is probably not making a BCS with a roadie at USC and a few other tuff tasks ahead and they will get a Big East birth, probably sending them to the #3 spot behind Louisville and WVU and that is as long as the two of them keep winning. Just be careful what we wish for with the success of the Big East for this year anyways. We just need to keep winning and it continues this weekend on National Televsion.
  20. 2004 - at there place - lose game, which I believe started the downward spiral of that season. Dont let it happen again because if you do, the rest of the season can be an uphill battle that you dont want to deal with, especially with the momentum that we are gaining. Hopefully we are getting back to the dominating second half seasons that we were acustom to.
  21. Frank has been playing sparingly on the Oline and is on a few special teams. He is supposed to get some quality playing time this week against the Jets. Hope he is able to prove that he belongs this weekend. I hear everyone from the oline coach on up are very impressed with him. Good Luck Frank
  22. I got an update about Frank. He said it was just a bad stinger. He was flying back to Detroit late yesterday. I also heard that the guy who hit him, was next to him in the hospital. You know it takes a whole lot of power to knock that big guy over.
