  1. wow thats hilarious. a smart man once said, "if you're not cheatin', you're not tryin'." although i guess its not really cheating if its the rule. that should be changed by this weekend im sure.
  2. sitting in section 210, im obviously not STANDING the entire game. i completely understand that its not the student section where i normally sit...or stand actually. however if someone even once tells me to sit down when i see it feasible to stand and holla, then theyre gonna get an earful from me just like the pitt fan did on saturday. i agree 100% with Wooly that if you wanna watch an entire football game and not expect fans to stand up and cheer, then go to Beef's and watch it there, its a lot cheaper!
  3. listen to the nerve of THESE 2 people....i was in section 210 on saturday, and i had a couple of pitt fans sitting behind me. of course, im standing most of the game, especially during key situations. they had the freaking nerve to tell me to sit down because they couldnt see. i turned around, looked at them and laughed, "are you serious? first off, if you cant see then stand up dammit, secondly, ur pitt fans...this is our house not yours. i dont go to your house and start flippin channels on the remote, because its YOUR house, your tv..same rule applies here." it was one of the funniest things ive ever seen an oposing fan do or say at an away game.
  4. there was this little thing called the world series on last night...that prob actracted a few viewers away from our game.
  5.  C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT Matt Grothe 11/21 51 2.4 0 1 Pat Julmiste 8/15 80 5.3 1 0 not saying there should be a change, just dont think theres any need for that comment.  Pat prevented the shutout, with a great catch by S J Green and the amp hill TD catch. As for some of you other guys...Grothe had a terrible game and hopefully will rebound next game, but dont just say its not his fault and start blaming the coaches.  I dont think 3rd and 19 QB draw was a good call, but execution from the players just wasnt there either.  fumbles, interception, drops, bad plays from randolph (who btw made some great plays and hopefully will also rebound). oh, and 35 yards of penalties wasnt a big deal (cincy had 40) i disagree.  i think the 3rd and 19 was a terrible call.  if youve got your mind set on running the ball on 3rd and long for a few yards, knowing youre going to be punting on the next down..hand the ball off to a RB!!  dont let your qb take a **** hit like that.
  6. i agree. poorest of the week bar none. i was at the clemson gt game over the weekend, and a hostile environment is def a understatement. ive never been to a louder stadium. it was amazing...add in that i got a picture with my arm around herbstreit and it couldnt have gotten much better.
  7. still wouldve lost by 15 had there not been a safety...so pretty much a moot point anyways.
  8. you SHOULD coach scared when you're on your own 1/2 yard line. thats prob the scariest situation for an offense. the only way to 100% prevent a safety in that situation is to sneak it. i have very rarely seen any football team anywhere hand the ball off to a rb that deep in their own zone. u have to give yourself a yard or 2 cushion to THEN be able to hand the ball off. when have you EVER seen a qb sneak go for negative yards...prob never. how often do you see rbs get tackled for a loss...very often. just way too risky of a call. so yes, i am 100% blaming the coaching staff for making that call. i guess you and i will just agree to disagree in this situation. as far as the execution goes, yes it was very poor...but i noticed way too many key situations where questionable play calls were made. im not normally the type of fan to put the blame on a coaching staff, but the players can only work with what they are given...and they werent given much to work with yesterday.
  9. of course you have to expect the line to hold up in a situation like that...its their job. but on the same note, in case the line does break down, you simply cant afford to call anything other than a sneak in that situation.
  10. yes i CAN blame the coaches for that call. even if the o-line would have folded like it did, at least with a sneak matt would have gotten back to the line of scrimage. no one else to blame but the coaches there in my opinion. i realize swing passes have been effective all season, but it seemed there were about twice as many as normal ran...and in key situations. every so often on third down, you have to get a receiver to run a route past the first down marker.
  11. i vote for #2...if you know youre gonna run it, hand it off to a back. although matts a great runner, a rb 9 times out of 10 knows how to protect the ball better!
  12. i feel it all started to go down hill very early. imo, ANYTHING other than a qb sneak when you are on your own 1/2 yard line is a bad call. i couldn't believe they didn't sneak that ball on first down...and it cost them a safety. also, calling a qb draw on 3rd and 24 was HORRIBLE. if youve made your mind up that youre just gonna give up that posession and run the ball, then run it with your **** rb! although matt is a great runner, a rb will def hold onto the ball better, its his freaking job. that fumble cost us a subsequent td. and most obviously, the fake punt call on your own side of the field....wow. enough said. i seriously couldnt believe how bad the play calling was in this game. swing pass after swing pass after swing pass.
  13. front row at college gameday in clemson...wearing my bulls gear of course!
  14. do you see what you've created Puc??!!?? everyone wants to be like you when they grow up.
  15. all i remember is the one great tackle he made in the backfield for a 5 yard loss. im not sure if he played a whole lot more though, didnt hear his name called a bunch.
  16. smazza, just because you type the most, certainly doesn't mean you have anything good to say. you babble, plain and simple.
  17. smazza, have you ever noticed how EVERYONE on this entire board thinks you are a complete idiot?
  18. my entire problem with smazza is that he contradicts himself so much in the garbage that he posts....if you take a look at the recruiting and prospects board, he bitches constantly on there about how CJL and usf never recruit quality players from the state of fl...then he basically tries to tell voss not to come here just because he most likely will redshirt and not play for a couple years. smazza is a complete jackass who stirs up controversy just to stir it. out of those 40,000 posts i could count on one hand the number of logical thoughts that have come across his peanut sized brain.
  19. yeah i def like the moneyline for UF (+2.0). they seem unstoppable at this point in the season. that is, once i can get the freakin' moneyline to open up on my site.
  20. in response to smazza's whole "leavitt should own lakeland recruits" thing, he obviously doesnt know how the whole recruiting process works. at this point, kids that committ to school like uf, fsu, or miami are plain and simply a HELL of a lot more likely to make it to the next level. kids arent necessarily gonna go to usf just because leavitt has a good relationship with them...they are first and foremost concerned with having the best chance to be set up financially for the rest of their lives. at this point in usfs young football career, they have yet to establish themselves as a contender for anything, much less a national title. the big 3 are nationally ranked EVERY year at the beginning of the season. lets see, would i rather play on national TV in front of 70,000+ people every game, or on espnU in front of 30,000? its not even a question of which makes more logical sense. just look how "average" fsu and miami have been the last couple years, and still how player after player get drafted to the nfl. until usf has a few consecutive VERY solid seasons, we will still be the little retarted brother of the big 3.
  21. in addition to DB, Bilal also played WR last year....its crazy man, every since i graduated that school puts out stud running back after stud running back. I've seen him play every game this year. He has unbelievably explosive speed....ive seen very few RBs hit the hole faster than him. once he breaks it, its pretty much lights out. ive only seen him get caught from behind 1 time all season. what i would like to see more than anything is Roger Frazier, Matts favorite high school target, finally get the grades to play here. he was on the doorstep of being with us, his grades stopped him however last year. he was at hutchinson community college last year, and led the nation for JUCO in all purpose yards. not sure where he is now however. anyone know?
  22. thats kind of an obvious statement....im pretty sure he was implying that we'll be favorites in both of those games. we could lose to lakeland highschool if we didn't "show up".
  23. Sorry, but a reply of "We ran out of bullets" to the question "Why did you shoot him 68 times?" indicates that the police were not interested in finding and brining a suspect to justice, but were out for blood. WHAT THAT PIECE OF GARBAGE RECIEVED WAS JUSTICE. HE DESERVED NOTHING LESS THAN WHAT HE GOT.
