Here are some facts: DW is our Athletic Director for the 2006-07 academic year. (eh) CJL is our head football coach for the 2006 season. Rod Smith is our offensive coordinator for the 2006 season. (Sorry some of you). CRM is our head basketball coach for the 2006-07 season. (Sorry all of us) Bob Huggins is not our head basketball coach for the 2006-07 season. (very sorry all of us) These are the facts and they are undisputed. :'(

Vardejo and OJ Mayo is like comparing apples to oranges. Not even in the same class. Whatever team OJ Mayo goes to , competes in a Final Four his freshman year. Lebron talks to the kid everyday and says he has all the potential in the world to be better than himself. Thats what we possibly pass up, when we pass on Huggins. Great move! No doubt we will be better next year than we are this year. But slow down with all the 5 wins in conference next year. We dont want to peak out at our maximum USF mediocre basketball squad. Lets be semi-garbage next year with 2-4 conference wins, then the year after we can be mediocre and get 5 wins. Then peak there and follow our wonderful basketball history.

Stetson, Bethune Cookman, Texas Corpus Crispy Cream, Jacksonville and Gaither High. Thats 5! oh wait you said Big East wins? With Mac, I think we can take Providence and Depaul and improve to 2-14 in the BE. Then the contract extention comes for the improvement.

When he recruits, players are going to ask. Who else do you have coming in? The answer is noone so we will get selfish recruits that will come here only because they know they have a great shot to play. Like David Seals.

Theres only one way to do that.  The fans like myself will be at the games no matter what.  Win or lose, we lose all the time so i ***** and whine and I am very critical.  Some of the best and most excited fans in this country are from Philly and they boo their teams all the time.  Its called tough love.  If we all sit around and praise a guy who goes 1-15 in a conference we are not gaining anything.  And for him to say "I had never once thought I wouldnt be here next year" is absurd.  Should have made a statement like I know my ass is on the line, I will do whatever it takes to make this team compete.  I would have gained a lot of respect from him.  But like I said he isnt the smoothest guy in the world.  Alau I wish for one day that our student section will be packed again and there be excitement in the dome, but until there is a product on the court I dont see it happening.  Noone goes to a movie if it bombs in the papers and writings, same thing goes for sports.  herm - very rational. Joe , you think we are the same person because you hear a couple of people saying that. Get your own opinion.  Do some research, read posts before you assume.  The only thing we have in common is we think Mac is not the right guy.  I guess smazza, Sherriff, Hawaii, herman, reuben, jewbull, ari are all the same guys. Trip, let me explain it for you. Not to get off topic.  Since I became a fan of USF in 1997 there has been many instances of why my disgust in our program continues to grow.  From getting us sooo close to the tourney with Seth and then blowing it late in seasons, to missing free throws, to getting stomped by UF, to the whole situation with Mac (i dont have to get into details, we know his problems) The UF statement was I was sitting in front of the UF crowd (with Ari too) and we were giving them **** all game. It was close at the half we were down by 2 i think and lost by like 20.  Then the UF fans chanted their tune in my ear and I had no rebuttal. We were mediocre then and garbage now, so I guess my statement does make no sense, we accept less than mediocracy. Im sorry your right it makes no sense. JewBull that was a great sign, I remember it well.

We were all over Teddy Dupay when UF came into town. Holding up signs saying "Bet on us Dupay" (during his gambling escapade). Calling Billy Donovan Eddie Munster. And Matt Bonner, Matt *****. Then they smoked us by 20 and we had to hear "Its great to be a florida gator". One of the defining moments of my disgust with our acceptance of mediocracy.

I want him to improve next year, then slightly improve the year after, then plateau but in a way where we have an injured player so we can forget about the terrible 6 seasons before, use that player as a scapegoat give him an extension and a raise then improve slightly again, maybe lose to UCONN by a few points, have calhoun say we played hard, feel great about that, then maybe make the BE tourney but once again miss the NIT and NCAA, lose in the 1st round of the BE tourney, then recruit some scholarship players kick them off the team, then be forced to play walkons and use them as the scapegoat for our loses. Perfect scenario. All along my boy Huggins and OJ Mayo are tearing it up at some school. I just pray he doesnt go to Rutgers. That would really suck for us.

No way do we get 5 conference wins.  For all you new viewers of big east basketball it is the most respected and competitive conference.  These teams do not get worse so we must get MUCH better.  With the 2 commitss we got coming in and the other 8 or 9 recruits  we have on the pipeline, and the injured players coming back we will still not be much improved.  Especially with our 2 best players leaving.  Our best recruits are 3 star, 3 star players sit onthe the 12th spot of UConns bench.  I dont car how good of an X and O guy Mac is, if you cannot recruit in the Big east your season is over before it even starts. Didnt Woolard say he would exaluate Mac "shortly" after the season.  What is there to evaluate shouldnt this guy be fired by now. ÂÂ

actually i was giving usf props for beating gtown, when they beat duke. The comment about you guys thinking we are better than duke was a alittle wise crack. sorry bully

What do you expect the guy to say? Come on you guys are hilarious. The guy isnt a soar winner. What do you expect him to say. If we played all out like we did in the 1st 8 minutes we could have blown them out. Should he have said Mac is a bum and fire him. Calhoun does not want Huggins and OJ MAyo going to USF and spanking the **** oout of UCONN and either do you guys. Puzzling Im glad he gave a reference from Dave Leitao. If Dave knows hes a great coach he must be. UCONN could have blown us out by 40 if they wanted. Should of gave Calhoun some truth serum before that press conference.

More people def want to can him. This site is not a fair assessment of what the USF community feels. Like bullsman said thousands of fans have had it a few years ago. Thats why we never see them. Mac had a great win last night but the win gave us bad publicity as well. I heard all night USFs first conference win all year. Thats the most publicity w got all year, except for the whole huggins thing. But like Trip says and publicity is good publicity, not in this case and especially not for recruiting. Mac needs to improve greatly on his recruiting this year. He has to have names come in here to lure other recruits, something Huggins would do immediately, right now I dont think Mac has what it takes to recruit int he BE. Way to get one conference win though. Hey Georgetown beat Duke and we beat Georgetown, does this mean we are better than Duke? Probably to some of you guys.

Actually visiting him in between appointments, where I mad e signifigant commission. Guess how much of that will go towards USF adn season tix for the bball team. @o.oo

Its funny, I was talking to my father today and we were reading the paper.  My father and I are from NYC, one of the largest sports markets and medias in the world.  He, doesnt know anything about USF, but lets face it noone from up there does, and noones outside of Florida really does.  Why would they? We make 0 noise, with the exception of football (lately) and soccer.  The ironic part was he was pumped up about how he heard Huggins might be coming down here.  I then explained our AD is a loser and so is our coach and our university and it will never happen.  I then explained how our coach has had 3 straight losing seasons (2 in CUSA) with 6 total conference wins and not a single win in BE play, which he knew because he watches BE bball, also the main reason he thought Huggins would be down here.  He then asked me, Well if not huggins who is going to coach next year?  I told him the same coach we have had the last three years.  The face he made was priceless, it spoke a million words.  It was like shocked, suprised, disgusted all wrapped up in one expression.  No where in the world would this happen.  Just wanted to throw in a completely unbiased situation.  The majority of the callers to Tampa radio stations were pro-huggins because they are like the rrest of the world.  Only our certain minority of fans seem to be pleased with such poor performance and excuses.  Another point while I am at it.  Mac made a quote in the St Pete Times it went like this.  "Initially, I didnt believe it.  I thought it was a joke. On one hand, I still think its a joke"  " I was happy with the statement that Doug made, but honestly, there was never a moment I thought I wasnt going to be here next year"  Well Robert, if you thought that you were right, this university will keep you for another 8 years just keep losing.  You never have to worry about job seccurity.  Perfect fit, loser university for a loser guy.  How can you not question your job security if you lose 3 seasons in a row.  To me that is the most disrespectful comment I ever heard.  If it were me or another respectable coach in the NCAA,  our comments would have been something like this, Hey I know the rumors are out there and they deserve to be, I am not getting my job done, but believe me I will do whatever it takes to turn this thing around. But he isnt the smoothest guy in the world, we can tell that by the way he recruits.  ONLY AT USF! (believe me ONLY at USF) herm -  :'(

Talk about skewing what the man said. Mike you know what he meant, he won 2 road games in conference play. Does that sound any better? If you add those 2 other wins its 4 in three years, that is still pathetic. Garbage, Scrub squad, etc, etc, etc.

Sorry TyBull my selective memory would not allow to remember we lost to Bethune Cookman in our house, so yes they are better than us right now. Hold on, lets think about that .............(thinking)..........we lost to BCC!!! WOW!! You know what you guys are right, you convinced me, I know I have been stubborn for a long time bu we should keep him for one more year, maybe extend his contract for another 6 years.
