  1. Didn't see this posted anywhere yet but the women's BB team won their exhibition game last night losing PG Tristen Webb to injury. USF Women Open 05-06 Campaign With A Bittersweet Exhibition Rout Tampa, FL (November 9, 2005) – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team began its highly anticipated 2005-06 season in bittersweet fashion Wednesday night with a commanding 96-65 exhibition win over EA Sports at the Sun Dome. On one hand, the Bulls served up the second worst loss (31 points) for the all-star team made up of former major Division I players – with the only other worse loss being a 118-73 setback to preseason No. 1 Duke. On the other hand, however, USF lost its starting point guard, Tristen Webb (Stone Mountain, GA), for an undetermined period of time with a right knee injury, just one minute and 27 seconds into the contest. She will be evaluated further on Thursday and will undergo an MRI. “I’m really disappointed with Tristen getting hurt,†said USF head coach Jose Fernandez. “I mean, she really had a good off season, and a good spring and summer. We’ll just have to wait and see what the doctor’s have to say on Thursday.†The Bulls put the game out of reach quickly with a 13-0 run to start the game. EA Sports would fight its way back into the contest trailing by just five points, 21-16, with 8:02 left in the first half. USF, however, would then outscore its opposition 25-11 over the final eight minutes of the first half to take a 46-27 lead into the locker room at the intermission. The Bulls would blow the game open in the second half behind blistering shooting from the field. USF hit 54.5 percent (18-33) from the floor and 57.1 percent (4-7) from behind the threeâ€â€point arc en route to the win. It was USF’s trademark defense, however, that that was a major reason for victory. The Bulls forced EA Sports into 20 miscues which led to 24 points on the night. In addition, USF held EA Sports to just 34.5 percent (19-55) from the field and a dismal 26.3 percent (5-19) from behind the arc. The Bulls put six players in double figures, led by Rachael Sheats (Marietta, GA) with a game high 19 points. All-America candidate Jessica Dickson (Ocala, FL) added 13 points and Nalini Miller (Capital Heights, MD) and Jessica Jackson (Roswell, GA) each chipped in with 12 points apiece. In addition, Ezria Parsons (Bushnell, FL) recorded a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, and ChiChi Okpaleke (Tampa, FL) also recorded 10 points. Shantia Grace (Sarasota, FL) tallied nine points and handed out a game-high seven assists. “I think overall, that we shared the ball pretty well,†said Fernandez. “Our big goal was to have the best defensive performance out of any team that they have played to this point. We wanted to keep them to under 60 (points), we were five over. We averaged 12 turnovers per game last year and we had 10 tonight, so that was a positive.†The Bulls close out their 2005-06 exhibition schedule on Sunday at 2 p.m. when they face the Miami Sun in the Sun Dome. USF will open their regular season on Saturday, Nov. 19 when they face Texas-Arlington at 4 p.m. on the first day of the Image Depot Shootout at the Sun Dome. LaSalle and Tennessee-Martin with kick off the day at 2 p.m. On Nov. 20, the Bulls will take on Tennessee-Martin at 2 p.m. with LaSalle and Texas-Arlington butting heads at noon.

  3. ...But we just got some props from the announcers saying that we're gonna be a tough game for WV
  4. maybe, but its also what happens to PJ against a good team...
  5. I thought Hernandez (2nd string QB) was only gonna be out for one game
