  1. Everyone keeps saying that ponton will be good. He's had his moments, but inconsistent. Maybe just being a young player or maybe the inability to get enough carries to get into rhythym. Has Simpson got any carries out of the backfield?
  2. I am sure that USF and the BE are the final decisionmakers. However, if ABC/ESPN say they will only televise the game at 1:30 then that will most definitely factor into the decision. The option from ABC/ESPN is do you want it on TV, if not step aside, we have other games. Harsh, but reality. If we want to be bigtime then we need a huge crowd there regardless.
  3. Maybe they'll rank the UCFers #1. Who cares. Heck, going into this week a 6-3 Oklahoma was not ranked. Win 3 more this season and I'll be happy, whether we're ranked then or not. If we lose to UConn we do not deserve to be ranked.
  4. The only reason I even raise the issue (I agree its doubtful) is that Auburn and PSU fans probably thought the same of their guys.
  5. Any chance that PJ, who like Campbell and Robinson were criticized and maligned for much of their college careers, suddenly turns it around as a senior? It may be too early for this question as there are 4 games left in this season. Thought I would ask anyways.
  6. I have 4. Had mine since last year when I moved back to the this side of Florida (Down in Fort Myers). ;D
  7. For what it's worth, here is what the BCS website says: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Which Teams Are Eligible? The pool of eligible teams includes: 1. The teams ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings. These two teams will play in the BCS bowl hosting the national championship game. 2. To the extent that such teams do not qualify to play in the national championship game, the conference champions of the Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pacific-10 and Southeastern Conferences. These teams are guaranteed berths. 3. To the extent that any such team does not qualify to play in the national championship game, any Division I-A independent or team from Conference USA, the Mid-American, Mountain West , Sun Belt or Western Athletic Conference, will earn a guaranteed slot in one of the BCS bowl games should that team be ranked sixth or higher in the final BCS Standings. Should the number of teams meeting this criterion exceed the number of available slots in the BCS bowls after placement of teams in the national championship game and the six conference champions that are annually guaranteed berths, then the BCS bowls will fill any available slots by choosing from among all such teams that have met this criterion. 4. All other Division I-A teams that have won at least nine regular season games (not including wins in exempt games) and are ranked among the top 12 in the final BCS Standings are eligible for selection as an at-large team. The final BCS Standings will be released on Sunday, December 4. The conferences whose champions have a guaranteed annual berth in one of the BCS bowls are subject to review and possible loss of that guaranteed annual berth should the conference champion not have an average ranking of 12 or higher over a four-year period.
  8. It's not about playing better for bowls. It's all about traveling and putting people in seats. If we take 15K to Charlotte/Atlanta, then next time we do not get passed over.
  9. FortMyersBull, is there a bullsclub down here that gets together to watch games? Well at least when they are on TV, and I do not have to work.
  10. I'll give this one back as soon as PSU, Miami and Pitt give us their wins. Turnovers are part of football; some are stupid plays (see Teel's pass right to our DB) and others are pure we want the ball (Royal forcing a fumble). In short, if we do not turn the ball over, we have a chance with almost anyone.
  11. I only heard the game on the radio, but didn't Payton and Jackson have drive killing drops in the second half? Not to say PJ always puts the ball where he should, but after the first half PJ had, no excuse for WRs to drop passes, as the WRs should have been in rhythym.
  12. Maybe Hill can get the ball to the wideouts on something other than an end-around. I would love to see them get some of the younger WRs (I know they are all young) the ball, specifically Hester and Taurus Johnson. I think those guys in the slot could do some real damage in open space.
