  1. tickets are still available for the game through ticketmaster. You can just have them emailed and print them out. You will not have any problem getting tickets at the game. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/02003ACF9809B8E8?artistid=836126&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=8
  2. Both are fine to stay at. You will find much more to do in harrisburg. If your coming from Baltimore the reason why i recomend harrisburg over altoona is that Altoona is a good hour out of your way. It a 3 hour drive to Altoona from BWI then 50 minutes to state college. Its about 1 hr 15 minutes to harrisburg from BWI then 1:45 minutes to state college from harrisburg.
  3. Harrisburg is a much bigger city with alot more to do. 2nd street in down town harrisburg has alot of clubs and is a bar area like you will find in many large cities. Alttona is more of a small town type place. While Altoona is closer to state college, it is a much longer drive from baltimore. Almost 3 hours compared to about 1:15 hour to harrisburg. If you leave early you can make it to state college in about 1:45 minutes.
  4. Why not just send out a flyer with the color to wear. since it would be impossible to hand out 100k t-shirts penn state just sends out messages of what color to wear for the game. they advertise it on the website and send out mass emails and coaches mention it in interviews. It pretty effective way of doing it at a low cost. Other schools have done fund raisers at games and sold shirts. People tend to be more willing to buy it knowing it going to a good source. They sell the shirts cheap, like $8 with all profits going to the United ect. It amazing how many more shirts you can sell when you say it for charity. Another way to get out alot of free shirts with your school's logo is have credit card company give them out for siging up for a credit card. People are suckers for free shirts, especially college students. as far as sponsors a good one to target are insurance companies. since state farm is an official sponsor of ABC college football they are advertised extensively during games. To counter that many isurance companies like to do promotions. For example nationwide past few years have handed out white penn state towels to all fans with PSU logo on one side and nationwide on the other.
  5. weather look clear for the game.  high 80 and low of 59.  Drainage is great on the field and if it is calling for raain they will tarp the field untill warm ups.  the field never really gets that torn up even in the heaviest rains. They protect it so much. No other events are held on the surface. School are not even allowed to have a walk through on the grass on the friday before the games.
  6. 1) Penn State 2) 48-3 3) 221 4) A. Jackson I still can not belive people are predict USF over 21 points, not a single team scored more then 21 and we return 9 starters from that defense and 2 other who had started previously. USF struggled last year just to score agains decent teams you played. I not saying USF can't win, but if they do it will be a 13-10 type of game.
  7. All the visiting fans are in one location. It is one block of tickets of the first few rows of 2 sections. But they are all ajoing each other.
  8. Baltimore is only about a 3 hour drive to state college. little more with traffic. If your driving it saturday morning I would leav no later then 8:30, unless you want to turn it into a 4 or 5 hour drive.
  9. The Big Ten requires all people to have tickets regardless of age. Infants do not belong at a football game. It is a hazard to them. Would you take a kid to a bar with loud noise and drunks? You are taking them to an enviroment with lots noice which at times can be enough to cause hearing damage. There are alot of drunks who don't know how to behave. Things can be thrown that could potential hurt a baby. A person carrying a baby could be bumped while negotiating a crowd. Is it worth risking your child's health. It also not fair to those around you. If you go to a game do you want a baby crying the whole game. Or a parent constantly getting up to take care of the baby. Or do you want have a bunch of bags invading your space.
  10. He was second team. Rice and Hali would be the starters.
  11. We are far from devastated by either loss of Chisely or Rubin. Chisely was a role player and would have been a back up. Most people were more mad about the stupidity of a 5th year senior being inelgible then the loss of a player. Rubin was a possesion type reciever and ad actually been beat out by the freshmen this spring. paterno said if he wanted to play this year he had alot of work to do. It is a lose, like any you prefer not to take. Connor is also a loss but fortunately we are very deep. He is not the best linebacker, Pozluzny is. This would be his first year as a starter and everyone was excited about his potential.
  12. All the rRight moves was a great movie staring Tom Cruise. It was filmed in Johnstown PA which is about an hour from state college.
  13. what has penn state won? 761 games 23 Bowl Games 38 Consensous All Americans 21 College Hall of Fame Members 4 NFL Hall of Fame Members have they won a b10 championship? 1994 when was their last NC? how many do they have? 14. One more thing, facing the field the odd seats are to the right of the aisle and the even seats are to the left(closer to the 50) of the aisle. The aisle runs down the middle of the section.
  15. Here a picture from your Seats: Below is the interactive seating chart for all sections: http://www.psu.edu/sports/football/stadium/seatingchart/index2.html
  16. Even a young team with that more team speed then any team in the Big Ten should have won alot more then 6 ames in a weak conference like CUSA. With that much team speed how does a d-1aa team stay with in 2 touchdowns of you. How do you lose to army with team speed like that? It either a case being very bad football players or very poorly coached. As for having 70 freshmen and sophmores is not a big deal. PSU has 65 this year. three classes make up the freshmen and sophmores.
  17. Keep in mind the wisconsin game we lost our starting Qb, backup Qb (robinson) who was also our leading reciever and best offensive weapon, both in the 1st quater. Robinson missed the next 4 games (minnesota, purdue, iowa and ohio state). That really hurt the offense.
  18. For staters there are fireworks at the staduim friday night. As for bars head down to college avenue and there are plenty to choose from. Some of the most popular ones are rathskellar, the Cafe and the crow bar.
  19. Our starting cornors are 6'1 and 6'2, and the safeties are 6'0 and 6'2. With the nickle back being 6'0 there not going to be a huge hieght difference.
  20. it not going to be a whole new offense but i think they will try to spread people out more, instead of always being in more TE oriented formations. I bet you see traditional formations 70% of the time.
  21. Penn State has not had a juco in probally 20 years. Joe beleives they are high risk situation. The few players Penn State does sign but do not qualify go the prep school route.
  22. There is a limit of 25 scholarships per year to a max of 85. You can only bring in 105 to camp, but after the first day of classes you can have an unlimited number of walk ons.
  23. Tickets are on sale at the link below. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/02003ACF9809B8E8?artistid=836126&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=8
  24. You are not allowed to give partial scholarships for D-1 football.
  25. They will be Big East Officials. Ussually the officiating crew is from the visiting schools conference.
