  1. You said "Jenna" and they said "who??" they must have been Sundolls...they have quite a few new people on their team and I don't know many of them this yr.  Sorry again about the cell phone incident...by the time I realized I had forgotten it, it was too late to turn around and I woulda gotten in a LOT of trouble for being late to the game (ie extra up downs and monsters with the football coaches  during our 6:30 boot camps)...thanks for your loyalty guys!!
  2. Hey guys! Thanks sooooo very much for your support yesterday in purchasing our calendars! WE had 600 yesterday and sold ALL of them!!! You all were amazing and we really enjoyed coming out and tailgating with you all. Sorry I was not able to call anyone on their cell phones when we went out to tailgate- I accidentally left my cell phone on top of the fridge in my apartment, came home from the game with 13 missed calls...YIKES! Needless to say, if anyone still needs calendars, let me know. We're also still looking for sponsors, so if anybody needs a tax writeoff and wants to contribute to a REALLY good cause, let me know Thanks again for your support. The fans were so great last night!!! I had some a great time meeting so many of you! Keep up that Bulls spirit and see you all next week!!
  3. This situation downright sickens me.... Obviously there's some hatred brewing among various Bull-supporting groups. I think it's jealousy but WHO HONESTLY CARES?! I blame it on the Jen Sterger "I'm a celebrity in the stands" trend. Too many fans out there are acting in terms of self-interest, but I do NOT believe that is the case with the Beef Studs or the Student Bulls Club. They've made it cool to show school spirit, to be proud of USF. So what if they only come to football games? That's their deal, that's the sport they like. We all have different ways of expressing our school spirit. The important thing is that it's there. But what good are we to our team when we are divided??? Last I checked, when you divide an arena in half, the yelling isn't nearly as loud as when it's all clustered together, yelling and screaming in unison. We are only harming the team when we separate ourselves. So next game I issue EVERYONE a challenge. Make 5 new friends in the stands. Go over and introduce yourself to 5 new people. It's easy. People are NOT gonna want to come to these games when you've got organizations fighting over who's the "premier fanbase of USF"....do you all even realize how petty this is?? I personally have friends in the Beef Studs and the SBC...I love both organizations and I COMMEND them for their tireless efforts to increase school spirit. But really, increasing that spirit will do us NO GOOD if we cannot be united!
  4. That's the whole point of doing the wave...to distract the other team.  We are carefully instructed that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are we to be leading cheers when the team is on offense, and we are to get everyone noisy as heck when the other team has the ball. Make sense??? yeahhhhh And thanks for the compliments regarding the cheerleaders! We had a girl blow out her knee, tear her ACL on our last practice before the game, so we had a TON of switching around to do, putting in alternates and what not. So we appreciate that!!!
  5. ::sigh:: I can't wait to have a little Bulls boy of my own!!
  6. The fans were great- students, parents, alumni....you all rocked! HOT- you guys were hott hott hott too! Sounded great and really kept everyone pumped even when things started off rough in the beginning. But I agree about the student section. They get better and better every year. See, a lot of people think the students don't care but they DO! We had our annual Roundup pep rally the other night and we had an EXCELLENT turnout! Got Coach Leavitt and President Genshaft onstage with us, the Beefstuds (they actually taught the fight song and did so CORRECTLY this year! woo hoo!!) But not just that- a big issue in the past was a lot of the students living on campus didn't have transportation to the games. Not sure how long they've been busing students to games, but this was the first time I had ever heard of it, so obviously if it HAS been going on, not many people were informed about it.
  7. Thanks guys!! Not too fond of the online image but the ones in the paper came out much, much better! But as long as the squad got mentioned and they chose to put USF on the cover, then I'm happy
  8. hehe no buy one from me, or at least one of the CHEERLEADERS!! hahaha....and yes we will be selling the calendars at the game. If you want you can email me your contact info and or I can email you my cell # so we can arrange a pickup. And MatRat- glad you liked it so much! This year should be even better! =)
  9. And what's wrong with Mass Communications??? I happen to be a journalism student.
  10. It's cool, Andy, no worries!! And my boyfriend is not Michael Bush...sorry to disappoint! As far as being a "money chaser"...won't do that either. I have one of the highest GPAs in my program at school and just completed a very prestigious summer internship In other words, I don't need a man to support me =)
  11. ^^Haha nah he's good people. Normally I am unwilling to compromise on such things at outfitting my future children in Cardinal red, but in a way ya gotta feel bad for the PIMP SLAPPING THAT TOOK PLACE LAST FALL ON OUR HOME TURF AGAINST LOUISVILLE! hehehe... ;D He always gets mad when I remind him of that though so very rarely do I mention it, but it was my defense the last time he ragged on my Red Sox for getting beaten so badly by the Yankees! ^Are you saying I'd deliberately get myself pregnant out of wedlock so my child could have NFL player genes? As much as I love football, I think NOT! I am no jersey chaser!!!
  12. Aww that's sweet of you to give your boss one! My parents gave em to all their co-workers too hehe. And I just PMed ya!
  13. I'm not entirely sure what this is about, but having worked for 2 media outlets in this market, I understand everyone's frustration with Leavitt's lack of media cooperation at times. It's a shame to blow off these media outlets in "outer ring areas," particularly when we have the #2 rated high school football team in the NATION (according to Sport's Illustrated's high school football preview) out of Lakeland! We NEED those recruits desperately!!
  14. Nothing wrong with it at all! Once I marry and plan to have a child, I know the very first thing my mother will buy that baby- either a USF cheerleader outfit or a USF football jersey...no two ways around it! The same goes for when my sister and her husband have a child- that baby will get all sorts of USF gear from Auntie Jenna =) ***It should also be noted that a current U of L football player and good friend of mine has expressed a strong desire to marry me one day but I told him that if it ever happens, our child will NEVER wear Cardinal red unless accompanied by appropriate USF clothing and spirit items! hehe
  15. ^^^It was great meeting you as well! It's so nice to be able to put a face to a name on these boards! I really respect what the Bull Backers do and you all have NO IDEA how much it means to have your support down on that field. I know us cheerleaders appreciate it, and you all KNOW the football team does too! We have such a young school, and our football team is really still in its infancy. That's one of the great things about USF is the fact that we're creating tradition. We may lead you all in the cheers on the field; the football team may be the ones taking center stage on saturday night, but the Bulls Alumni and organizations like the BULL BACKERS are the ones leading us in creating our tradition. So a big thanks to you guys for taking such pride in your alma mater to keep coming back and supporting it. You guys are setting the example for us students to follow once we graduate. So again, thank you!! For orders, if you guys could email me with your name and a way to get ahold of you and where I could possibly meet you to give you the calendar, or an address to send it to, that'd be great. Once again my email is jennamitcheson@hotmail.com. And ARagingBull- I know our coaches got each member of the spirit squad a copy of your CD so we can practice...it's good stuff so we definitely can put the word out!! =) Also on an update on sponsorships- E.T. was so kind to make a donation, and I just got a check from Smoothie King! WOO HOO! So E.T. gets a big pat on the back, and for all of you locals, make sure to stop by the Smoothie King on Fowler and let Earl the owner (who sponsors several other Bulls teams) know that we appreciate his support!! =)
  16. Hey guys...the USF Spirit Squads Calendars are in!! We'll have them ready to sell for the McNeese State game. If you're interested in purchasing one for $10 you can place an order with me now and I can give it to you personally at the game or I can have someone give it to you. The cheerleaders will be arriving at 3:30 to warm-up, so if you'd like I can meet you prior. This is a HUGE part of our fundraising so we'd appreciate your support greatly! Also, if you'd like autographs, let me know. You can post on here if you're interested, or you can email me at jennamitcheson@hotmail.com. Thanks a bunch and can't wait to see everyone Saturday!! =)
  17. Thank God. As a former WFTS full-time employee I can't even tell you how upset I was that they weren't gonna show the USF game considering the station has a USF BULLS JERSEY in the lobby with "28" on it. Glad they turned things around though!
  18. WAY TO SCREW THINGS UP GUYS!!! This makes me sooo mad
  19. I find it amusing and all too, just not when that type of trashy get-up is representing MY school. It happened last year as well....apparently some people don't realize that they are not the SUNSATIONS from miami!!! *giggles*
  20. Your son was THE cutest!! He was so fun to watch when we were cheering...the girls just loved him! Did you get any more pics of us with him today? Jim- Calendars weren't ready yet My guess, and please don't quote me on this, is that there was probably a need for some "airbrushing" and photoshopping of certain pictures, but certainly not the cheerleaders' pictures since all of ours except one picture are in uniform But yes I will definitely reserve some for you and for anyone else!! We had a pretty good turnout this year at tryouts so for all-girl we took 26 girls when a full squad is considered 20. For coed the numbers were pretty much the same from last year. We normally take more than enough girls on all-girl due to the fact that 1) cheerleading is a contact sport, people get hurt, especially when nationals come around and we're practicing 4 hrs a day, every day. 2) Some people can't handle the demands of practice and trying to balance that with school and quit....we had 2 quit just this week so we're already down to 24. We'll be holding a fall tryout too to pick up more girls. We like to be able to pull from a large group of girls so we can put the best group possible on the mat for nationals.
