Give some of our old players a shot. If we really can’t afford to go after a name let Q, Grothe, Auggie, and the boys get a crack at it. I bet they’d recruit like crazy and their teams would be super fired up

If we are giving former players a shot then why not Larry Scott. He’s been in staffs at big schools...was UM’s interim coach and went 4-2...on UF’s staff now. Or how about Marquel Blackwell. Bring Grothe in as an assistant position coach or QC coach. Get his coaching feet wet that way

I want to start by saying I simply cannot stand TDS but that’s a whole different story. However, this is good film review. For those saying KB is doing a terrible job, there probably isn’t a thing in the world that will change your mind, but this film says otherwise. The plays are there. Who is responsible for that? KB. The PLAYERS AREN’T DOING THEIR JOBS!! KB can’t get out there and catch for them. He can’t get out there and magically fix the offensive line. He can’t get out there and block for them. Don’t tell me for once second “our offense is bad so this all falls on him” because whoever recruited what’s on the field didn’t do THEIR job (and hint, it wasn’t KB).  The problem is that many of us thought he’d come in and fix every issue USF has on offense but in reality that’s like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Watch for yourself, or continue to be closed minded. Your choice.

If people would watch the video they would understand a little bit. The plays are there but the execution is not. Not sure if execution would be there for any style of offense this year...

  3. I was super excited when we hired Skip Holtz. I was indifferent about Charlie Strong...then the presser gave me an uneasy feeling when he basically said we would not be competing against the “Big 3” for recruits. The San Jose St. game in 2017 started and I immediately felt we made a mistake after seeing the offense.

I had happy thoughts that maybe he would do here what he did in Louisville but then realized he didn’t have Clint Hurtt.

I guess I was more disappointed with Holtz because his success brought him here. He was on the rise and failed. Strong was sub .500 at Texas and we brought him and most of that sub .500 staff here....never felt good About it

I've seen the posts titled.."I'm Done and I'm Not Done"       Doing a personal seasonal assessment(even with 3 games left) I figure "I'm starting over again"   Basically I've fizzled out on this season.  Yes the Horn's still fly out in the yard.   Sure always turn on that tube( no tubes anymore) on game day to watch the Bull's and yes, there is this small flicker in there that thinks there just might be..possibly..a chance we can win. Could we win 2 and get a bowl game?? 🙏🏻 ( yes children a "Miracle" could still happen 🏒🇺🇸 )  Oddly my wife and I take about any small positive from our games to high five..YEA!! we got a first down Let's have another beer.....Go Bull's !!!

So now, I look forward to all the possibilities that NEXT YEAR can bring because its what I (we) do as Bull's fans. I'm hoping to catch a high off our bball team this season whenever they might get their **** together. C'mon CBG we need you to deliver us football folk to the mountain of success.

Thats a good idea!!....we used to wait until the first USF TD to pop the first beer....maybe we should use first downs now.

  5. Charlie Strong has caused this environment. He rode the coattails of one recruiting class at UL. He regressed at Texas...He has regressed here. It’s just not W’s and L’s...it’s the whole package...the attitudes, the perceived lack of passion...the looks of confusion...the bad game decisions...the weak recruiting rankings...the confusing rambling at the podium...he has to go...USF does not have a choice now...Attendance is terrible...fans are more vocal now than ever....nobody is happy with the product. My assumption is a 4-8 season...he has gone 10-2 to 7-6 to 4-8.....I would rather pay him $7M+ to go then pay him $5M to be here. Hopefully the $7M can be paid in yearly installments.

  6. I know some people on here don’t care for the Daily Stampede but they have a guy in staff named Seth Varnadore. He used to coach football in HS and at some level in college I believe. On YouTube they post videos of him breaking down the schemes and game film.

I recommend watching it. You can see improvement....you can also see things that are wide open that the qb didn’t see...it can be rough at times but I think this offense can become something. Just go watch and listen to what he talks about. If anything it was awesome to see knowledgeable talk and detailed breakdown about USF football.

we bent over backwards to hire him. we gave him all the leverage.

hopefully we have learned our lesson. it never makes sense for us to overpay for a "name" .

hire someone who is young and wants to make a name for himself. don't have to break the bank and then if they get hired away due to success we get paid. if we have to fire them then it won't cost us a boatload.

The bad thing is the "we" that hired him are not here anymore and left a mess to deal with.

Strong is loyal to dogs and have seen signs of the team quitting already.

BJM should not be retained under any circumstance.

Roberts, Atterbury and Norman will get you fired, but yet Chuck keeps these dogs in the lineup.

For all of you that think Hampton is a NFL guy, I would say go get yourself checked out.

Bellamy is flying around...making a few freshmen mistakes, but dang at least he is giving us some effort.

McCloud was just dang awful the other day and that little attitude he showed on the sideline should put him back on the bench. If your leader is a quitter then the others will follow.

Maybe Barnett will come back and win us 7 or 8 more.

Too my personnel questions on this team and I just think that Strong is a **** idiot to keep playing a few of the dogs. I would not hire him at the next stop under no circumstance. Enjoy all the free money at Texas and USF.

It doesn't matter who the QB is...this team is not winning 7 or 8 MORE games this season. Drastic changes have to occur or this team is looking at 3-9 at best.

Who are we beating with the way this team is currently playing?

    UCONN: Probably

    BYU: NO

    Navy: NO

    ECU: Maybe

    Temple: NO

    Cincy: NO

    Memphis: NO

    UCF: NO

It’s really baffling that there are people who, 3 games in, have already decided that they don’t like him.

let’s put this all into perspective...

Bell comes in and changes the offense, which means that it’s completely new for the players. Of course we would start our same starter from last year, who actually had some success and college experience, rather than a freshman. It was figured out by game 2 that we need to go in a different direction than Barnett. A few of you said “there’s no way Blake will be benched, that’s how Strong operates. It’s Strong’s guy and he’ll ride with him the whole season.” Yeah, no. I get it if Bell hasn’t been successful in the past regardless if it wasn’t at the FBS level or if he’s been here for a year and we’ve seen no progress. I get that we played and FCS team and we scored a lot against an easier opponent. But come on now, let things play out. Put the pitch forks away, take a few deep breaths, and try to enjoy football.

    PREACH!!

I've read every response on here and I believe you're the only one that gets it. Houston is four games into the season and Holgerson already sees the overall big picture of starting 1-3 when you're a non-P5 school. Not only can he coach, he can also sell kids on the bigger picture. King ISN'T getting drafted this year. He's played for three different coaches already in his four years. Why NOT get one more year under Holgerson so he can get more acclimated to the system. If Houston turns out to be as good as advertised under Holgerson, Houston is contending next season and is stacked with seniors. King has the opportunity to showcase his talents with the entire world watching next season when Houston gets the G5 entry into a New Years bowl game against a top P5 program. Talk about a player buying into the system.

So this is kind of like the USF 2004 CUSA season where CJL made the decision to play tons of Freshmen, knowing they were going to take their lumps, for the 2005 jump into the Big East.

Though I wonder if this hurts recruiting in the long run...apparently they have a huge list of players sitting this season out due to transfer rules

Something has to change with the Oline. I don’t have confidence they will though as they think they had a good game against sc state. No running back over 70 yards in a game this year. Putrid. I see linemen blocking the same guy and forgetting their assignments. We need to zone block

They are trying to zone block...the new blocking scheme is part of the problem

Those are the helmets we made in 2008 and stored at my Tampa Palms apartment and not the athletic facility (to keep them as a surprise to players).  They did make their debut at the 2008 Magic Jack Bowl.  The original white helmets were dark green logos and a single green stripe.  I remember Taurus Johnson's face when he walked back in from warm ups and saw all those hanging in the locker room haha.  Good times.

Cool story! Taurus Johnson...One of my all time favorite Bulls!!
