Coach A was hired 1 year before Coach B, has made the regional tournament once (2017 his first year), went 0-2 in that tournament, has 0 conference titles and the school was moving into the Big 12 and did not just hire a new FB and MBB coach

Coach B was hired 1 year after Coach A (so they are getting the same number of years), has made the regional tournament twice (2018 his first year (went 1-2) and then again in 2021 (went 3-1 and won the regional advancing to the super regional - only time in school history), has 1 conference title, and school was staying in the aac and had just hired a new FB coach and MBB coach.

And now we know the rest of the story

Your loyalty is commendable. Still, Coach B needs things to turn in his favor pretty soon.

  2. I know we just destroyed a bad Marist team over the weekend, but I have so little confidence that this is going to be the turnaround year Billy Mohl needs. I hope I’m very wrong, because he seems to be a good man, but my gut tells me we’ll be making a change this summer.

The “arm farm” has lost all its crop and I didn’t expect at this point we’d still be seeing him running out guys like Tanner Mink and Austin Grause. Those dudes have had enough innings to show they can or can’t do it.

CBS College basketball analyst were saying he will have to opportunity if he wants to.
I don’t think he would leave because we are going to have everyone back minus Placer. If he did leave he would be leaving some players out to dry, because I think the second time you transfer you have to sit out a year and that would mean Youngblood, stroud, Jennings would probably be force to stay at USF their final year.

He’ll probably need a raise - and just for once, I’d like to see a guy not chase the next shiny thing. You can accomplish big goals at USF, make a bunch of money, be beloved, and live in a great area.

Been hearing tickets are going fast for the final home game of the season against Tulane. Hopefully that one sells out to give this team many thanks!

I HATE to have to miss it! I’ve had a blast at every game that I’ve been to this season. It’s not the same old South Florida!

  5. Watched Friday’s game and the first game of today’s DH. So tell me this, what is the tasty treat the first base coach gives our baserunners when they get a hit? Scooby snack for a hit? Watch for it when you see a game: the coach takes the baserunner’s elbow pads, gloves, etc. and hands the runner something that he puts in his mouth.

That's because those conferences are drastically better than us.  Stick us in the SEC, Big 12  and we're struggling to be .500 as well.  There's going to be upsets in the tournament and occassionally teams from smaller conferences that are better than those teams and/or get hot at the right time/  But by and large at least half the Big 12 would roll through our conference and the rest of the non P6 conferences

So you’ve accepted the propaganda. I haven’t. I’ve watched TONS of college hoops this season. I don’t believe that the gap is as big as they’d like you to believe. Case in point, UCF is 4-9 in the Big 12 with wins vs. Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas, and 4 losses by 6 points or less, and 7 losses by 11 points or less (two by 2 points). I’ve watched several of their games. We’d beat them by double digits this year.

If the ACC top tier teams get poached the ACC will get a huge ESPN haircut and will likely go by way of the P12 and no longer be a power conference.........

Say FSU, Clemson, Virginia and North Carolina exit. I’m certain I’m in the minority because everyone has dreams of grandeur, but as a fan I’d be plenty happy playing in a football/hoops league with Duke, N.C. State, Wake Forest, Pitt, BC, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, WVU, Cincy, Tulane, Memphis . . . even Oviedo - whether it’s considered “power” or not.

Some of the Power conferences will get 8-9 at large bids..........

Right, I was listening to the ESPN talking heads last night saying that Kentucky is no lower than an 8 seed in the tournament no matter what happens the rest of the way. Really? They could hypothetically finish 18-14 (they won’t, but could) and they’re STILL in the tournament and at least an 8 seed?

They say the Big 12 will get 9 teams - even though they only have 5 right now that are more than one game over .500 in the league. And they mentioned Cincy (16-10, 5-8) as a possible bubble team.

Every year, they get so enamored with one league that’s supposed to be so incredible. They give them a bunch of at-large bids and they end up losing to Saint Peter’s, Loyola, and FAU.

  9. If the remaining ACC guys are smart, they’ll have a plan to raid the Big 12 - not the other way around. I have to believe that WVU, Cincy and Oviedo CC would prefer playing back east if the situation was right. Add us, Tulane and Memphis with whoever is left in the ACC and you have a league that fits us really well - despite cutting a few corners on the academic profile (mostly WVU and Memphis). Trade Cal and Stanford wherever.

I can still remember Jose bemoaning the NET in the Hardwood Club when they were ready to transition to it. He said that this will ruin the game and favor the power leagues. Looks like he was spot on.

EVERYTHING favors the money . . . er, power leagues.

Who’s arguing this?  CAAR clearly went away from the threes.  A good number of those misses came as we lost a ten point lead. He came out in second half to get back to pounding the paint.

He didn’t just shrug his shoulders and take the L as part of being a three point shooting team (99% of basketball teams).

He TOTALLY misses our point and keeps saying the same thing over and over - NO ONE is saying we should change our philosophy and stop shooting threes. AGAIN, the point being made is, when you’re having an off shooting night like we had, the last thing we needed down the stretch was 3-point shots from Sam Hines and Brandon Stroud. That’s truly what drove me nuts at that point in the game.

  12. I know we’re all pointing at the Big Dance, but if we don’t finish strong and/or win the AAC tournament, how are we feeling if we don’t make the NIT - which is a distinct possibility with our ranking? This team not playing in EITHER of those tournaments would be an absolute crime.
