Ok- as probably the only die hard 49ers fan on the board I will entertain this one.....

here are a few things to consider:

• 49ers are without Crabtree and Manningham.  Vernon Davis has played sparingly due to injury
• Seattle is the best defense in the league.
• the Colts did a great job of keeping the 49ers off the field.  Time of possession was very lopsided.
• Kap threw for over 400 yards in week 1
• my personal opinion is that Kap is also running scared.  He doesn't run nearly as often as he should and when he does run he slides way too early.

I think you will see the Power Run 49ers offense come back in week 4 (they really haven't played this way all year and that is their bread and butter).  Once the Power RUnning game gets going, it will open things up for Kap.

I'd wager to be Mother Trib goes to this format in the next 6mths to a year... then who are you going to complain about? Newspapers have been moving to all digital format for years... eventually they were going to expect you to pay for the info. 

I pay for it already, every time I see another car ad on the site.

 

You realize that those banner ads you see are being purchased for anywhere from $0.50 to $6 per every 1,000 ads (depending upon placement, campaign size, etc)

So even if you viewed 1,000 banner ads the amount you are "paying" is about 6 bucks at most.  Newspaper companies are trading print dollars for digital pennies and it has really hurt their revenue.

People have paid for the newspaper for over 100 years.  No one complained.  Digital has changed everything.  If the content is worth it, people will pay.  Look at sites like Rivals or 247.  They charge for their content.  

Obviously as people have pointed out on this thread, there are several "work arounds" to not pay.

 

 

The Times is a world class paper IMO, if their business model warrants a paywall to keep the quality of the content, its probably worth it.  There arent many products worth getting nickled and dimed for, but for me this is certainly one of them.

If you dig back into their threads, both committed after the CWT hiring, but both had us in their top three before the season started. 

which means I give CWT credit for recruiting them.  There have been PLENTY of kids that have had USF in their top 3 and not end up here.

It would get in the way of the "Enroll in 18 credit hours this semester and You get to play 1 QTR at the QB position for the football team"

So is Andre Davis going to sit?

doubt it.  I imagine it will be something that CWT addressed during practice as a team.  I would imagine that he is on a short leash tho

Leavitt obviously was the defensive mastermind behind those early teams.  Look at what he is going with the LB unit of my beloved SF 49ers.  

The guy knows how to coach a defense.  It won't be long before he is a DC in the NFL

The fact that McMurphy is still able to break news about our team makes me sick to my stomach.

Actually- it was Alex Perlman that had it on twitter first.  I follow both of them, and Alex had it first.  It was probably announced to the press at the same time.

It was an awful game for Floyd - but defense lost that game.  Gave up way too many big plays.  Floyd did look like the worst D1 QB I have ever seen - but that doesn't mean it wasn't aberration.

ummmm...Floyd gave up 14 points himself.  and we could not move the ball at all during the 1st half, defense was gassed.

defense isn't completely off the hook but Floyd sure as heck isn't either.  He has no business being our starting QB

people can make as many random posts as they want and i can call out what i want to call out.  no one has to listen to me or agree with me.  THAT is the beauty of this board.  

i just don't find a joke in this QB situation.  if others do?  cool, just not my way of dealing with this.  if i see a problem i dont joke about it for attention.

i click on almost every new thread when i am checking the boards.  

i'm upset because at first i thought it was true (i am one of the few who actually remember coming here to learn things that weren't available elsewhere)

and he was clearly looking for attention with that.  

finally---i would be completely disappointed with CWT if he starts Floyd after seeing what i saw during the McNeese St game.  

I'm not sensitive by any means but I don't feel like this is the time or place to be making 'cute' jokes about our situation.  there are A LOT of fans who put in  A LOT of time, energy, and money into supporting this program and it is sickening to see what has happened to it in the last 3 years.  I want CWT to fix it.  Starting Matt Floyd in this game tomorrow is a coward move to me.  Eveld proved with his play last week and proved with his experience in road games at Miami and elsewhere that he is best suited to handle it.

if we are going to just try and "build for next year" then let White play.  Floyd has zero up side to me.  

yea i should have added the footnote that i know the white helmets werent around in the penn st days.  i meant white paints, white jerseys.  

but voodoo 5 was the Rod Smith double reverse while we were on our own 10 yard line in Happy Valley....right?  or am i USF brain dead after all the disappointments?  

i dont enjoy long seasons of terrible play and no effort to get better.  floyd has proved he isn't going to make it here.  he should transfer out and enjoy his football playing days elsewhere.  sorry if im harsh to the kid but not everyone can be a hero

WHO CARES ABOUT BENCH"S REDSHIRT???? if we need this guy's senior year of eligibility we should just ask to be put back into FCS.

this is a VERY sensitive subject for a lot of us fans who are still evaluating our head coach.

i do not doubt that CWT and his staff will be able to recruit....i just hope to see some ability to coach during the games

what the hell are you talking about?  are you trying to be "funny" by saying MSU=McNesse State University?

im hoping that atmosphere gets our guys fired up and our weak performance last week gives MSU some sense of cockiness 

I just want to see our team fight a little bit and give MSU a good game.  win or lose- I just want to play a great game

if Matt Floyd starts at QB tomorrow I am pretty sure I will throw up.
