I am a 49ers fan so I follow all their beat writers and people are raving about Lynch.  Saying he could be the steal of the draft at a 5th round pick.

Bowl game or bust for me this year.  We need to show improvement and I know we will but 4-8 won't cut it for me this year.  

Houston has the potential to be very strong in any conference.

let the best QB play...i don't care if its a true freshman.  we need the guy who is going to give this team the best chance to win this season.  We can't worry about what will happen 4 or 5 years from now.  Taggart will have plenty of time to get someone else in.  I've never understood that logic of our fans who worry about redshirts.....

i saw an Greg mention on twitter that Mark was about to start a job at an advertising company in Wesley Chapel when he got the call from bucs.

Anyone know where he was going to work?  I am curious, I work in the ad industry and only a handful of possibilities where it might be.

Yep- my bad.  I'll use Monday morning as an excuse.  Even as I typed it out multiple times it looks weird.  I even said to myself, I wonder if people are going to think this is a basketball topic and I never remembered having any confusion with SJ when he was here about it meaning Shooting Guard or something.

oh well....but yes, none the less...it is still good for SJ Green

I didn't realize that SG Green is playing in the CFL and is teammates with Chad Johnson.  But Chad tweeted the other day how he is learning so much from SG Green about the way the game is played north of the board from a WRs perspective.

I thought that was pretty cool and congrats to SG Green for still getting a paycheck playing the game.

are we still wasting our time recruiting guys that will never set foot on campus because they get drafted too high? 

it has more to do with the players we had i think.  we never recruited big strong guys...which is why we always got destroyed by the power running teams in the Big East.  Guys like Mims and Lynch are outside pass rush guys.  Bench Press is more of a DT thing.  And look at the past 4 or 5 years, total reps on bench is a very poor indicator of NFL success.

But if it makes you feel better, Terrell McClain had 29 reps a few years ago.  

The same people who are down playing the importance of this recruiting class are the same people who would be screaming for CWT's head if we were like 80th or behind UCF.

UCF just had their most amazing season in their history and one of the best seasons of any non-P5 (BCS) program EVER and they had the 73rd rated class.  We have the 39th ranked class.

Enjoy it.  Does it mean we are promised a bowl game next year?  no, but it sure as heck helps our chances and shows that high school kids are buying into what CWT is selling.

Several members of this class turned down big schools including FSU, Georgia, and more.  

Louisville, Texas A&M, UF, LSU, Georgia. Just to name a few. If he's wanting to stay in California my sleeper to get him would be Fresno State to replace Derek Carr.

UF has last year's starter returning from injury, Georgia has a proven back up who come in for Murray  when he was hurt.

Only reason I'm not sold on him is while USC did run a more pro-style offense, that I'm sure he could adapt to here at USF, he'd be a one and done. 

Max has 2 years of eligibility.  

there are plenty that I think would be "off the list"  not even schools with returning starters but schools with a highly touted recruit who has been in the system for a year or 2.  

I imagine Max wants to go somewhere that is a slam dunk for him to be the most talented QB on the roster.  

I know we have a lot of folks on the board here who love to do some research....so does anyone want to provide a quick list of all the Power 5 Schools that have a question mark at Starting QB.  It would be interesting to see just how much competition we have for this guy.  

He will obviously go somewhere that he pretty much a lock to start.  

Max Wittek is transferring from USC and will be immediately eligible!

expect to see a ton of JuCo kids come in this off season.  we should bounce back but this game tonight could be ugly.  

I really believe that next year is when we find out what we've really got in a coach.  

I don't expect any 10-2 type season or anything but we need to see improvement.  If our offense is still stalling like this then I think CWT will be on a short leash which furthers the point that if Doug has missed with back to back coaching hires for the football team then he needs to go (regardless of any other non-football success he has been a part of)

I have faith in CWT and I think he has an idea how to fix it but the storm is so bad right now that there is nothing we can do.  Defense is playing better and playing with a lot more freshman, which is a good sign for next year.

One thing that Holtz was never able to do is DEVELOP talent.  At a program of our level, we need to DEVELOP talent.  It won't just show up at our doorstep like it does to Bama, FSU, and others.  

Leavitt was great at developing players.  Taggart has a wrap for being able to do so.  Let's see what he can do with an offseason with the team and a full chance to recruit.  

We will see if history can repeat itself.

I think we need it.  We need a new mentality here and CWT is obviously going to play those that fit the mold.
