  1. "I have heard great things about the young men in our program from a variety of people. I can't wait to meet with each one of them and to begin working together toward a Big East championship," Holtz said. "My goal is to graduate our players, to foster their personal development and to establish USF as one of the premier programs in the country."

  2. we need a Black coach that can identify with our players.

USF is Calvin McGees dream job, and he would do well.

No Head Coaching experience to my knowledge. USF must find someone who has been a head coach and know the elements needed to become a successful team.

How is no head coaching experience working out for Charlie Strong?

    Bingo....ding ding ding.

    or for moosechamp at uf

I'd rather a hungry coordinator than a retread with experience.

put me down for magee. i wanted him last time. he's help run 3 top 10 offenses under rich rod. has his masters from usf.

Magee sounds great because he worked at USF. But how many championship level teams has he worked for?

Muschamp coached under Saban at LSU where they won a national championship and Mack Brown at Texas where they participated in a few BCS games.

Stong coached under Lou Holtz at Notre Dame, and both Spurrier and Meyer a UF before accepting the Louisville HC job

The difference with Magee is he only worked Leavitt and Rodriguez.

USF as it stands now is not in the postion to take a chance on anyone that has not had or experienced proven success at a high level.

  3. For those who do not know Bill King does a radio show on SiriusXM 91 every morning between 6am - 9am Monday through Friday. On Monday's instead of special guests, he lets fans call in do the talking with some commentary on his part.

During the last hour of the show between 8 AM and 9 AM he issues out Bill's Balls of Steal (BOS) nominations. Typically the nominations go to players or teams that did well over the weekend. But occasionally fans call in and give out the suckiess BOS nominations.

You can hear a replay of the audio (10/8/2012 Hour 3 @ 39.00) if you sign up on the Bill is King (http://www.billisking.com/) site.(IT IS FREE)

    Here is the Story:

A Temple fan called to nominate the Temple Owls for their first Big East win over USF. After a quick pause Bill goes on this rant that the suckiess Balls of Steals goes to USF by asking "WHAT IN THE HELL HAS HAPPENED TO THAT PROGRAM?"

If you want a good laugh it is worth a sign up and listen.

  4. HELMET TOSS: Asked about the play in which QB B.J. Daniels had his helmet ripped off with enough force to fly across the field, Holtz didn't question the absence of a facemask penalty but said he was glad there wasn't any significant injury to his senior. "I think it's scary. It's really scary to have your helmet ripped off with that speed and velocity," Holtz said. "Thank goodness it came off. If it didn't, he could have been severely injured. I thought that's what all these new rules were in place to do, to protect the defenseless player."

  5. That was a big time missed call by the reps. The guys on SNY said it best there should have been a ref looking in that specific area for fouls like that. Either way a coach should have been all over it even if they only had the impression something was wrong.

Queue in Schiano (USF vs Rutgers 2007) 1:13 mark

Just to rub things a little bit more. Take it back to the 30 second mark and listen to what Stu Scott said about Ray Rice and the USF Defense. Have to admit Ray Rice was something special at Rutgers but apparently so was our defense.

Now think about how many RBs have run for 100 yards this year alone. :(
