Why would they give their concession profits to the players when they can simply dupe the fans into paying them so they can keep all the money. I think everyone is on the same page, no problem with the kids getting paid but why are the ones making all the money off of them not paying them.  This model is so ****** up that it has no choice but to collapse into a heaping pile of ****.

Hell yeah! I think it will eventually get resolved by crashing. Until then I’m gonna continue to eat tons  & drink up as much whiskey to help USF. Go Bulls!!!

    Same.

Part of my desire for a even playing field and court.

if it just comes down to who can empty the most out of their bank accounts, we have to understand that this is not sustainable and it’s just plain insane.  NIL has turned into asking fans for more money with no stake (or earnings) in the business.

Once that OCS opens I’m planning on buying tons of concessions. And if they want to add some of that to the NIL then I’m fine with it. As long as I get to eat I won’t get too hangry!!

Didn't he bring in 9 new guys last year? So really less turnover next year.

That is true! That is probably one of the reasons that he told us USF fans to RELAX lol. I’m hyped about next season as I’m glad USF was able to keep CAAR for another season.

My comments aren't about the players that aren't here, it's about where the game is headed.  If you don't like professional sports, it should concern you.

Yeah I hear you.  I started off liking professional sports back in the 80’s then started liking college sports around the 90’s. Started to pay less attention to pro sports for some time but then came back to it. However I only pay attention to the home town teams now. So I will watch Bucs, Rays, Bolts, USF, Rowdies. Any other team I have to put money on it to keep my interest.

True.  I don't think players will regret taking the money, but the grass isn't always greener and sometimes it's better to be the big fish in a small pond.  I do players realize their mistake later on (I know some girls who have transferred colleges for basketball and none are happy-- equal or less playing time, credits not transferring, not close-knit with other players, etc.  All of them have transferred multiple times and it just becomes ridiculous and none of them have the credits to actually graduate.  They've screwed themselves.)

They say money can be the root of all evil…….

Upon further review, if you donated specifically to one of the players who bailed, I do understand feeling "used" in that regard ....

And on the positive side I do believe we should feel thankful for having the players actually suiting up for USF. All of your support has helped USF make that possible. USF had good seasons in most of their athletic programs so I believe USF fans & supporter should get some credit imo. I went to the USF softball game yesterday after the Spring Game and looked like a great crowd there to watch USF beat Wichita St. Good to see the support.

If usf invested in football  with Leavitt coaching usf at its peak, built an ipf, an ocs, and hired a solid replacement we would not be here.

Who was in charge of usf and neglect athletics since 2011 until she retired?

With all that said at least we can all agree that USF football & mens hoops are both on the right track now. They were pretty lost before but now they have found themselves out of the dumpster fires. Timing is everything so I do believe USF is better off in the ACC over the west coast conference known as the big 12.

I have 4 kids between the age of 17-21 so I have looked at a lot of schools in Florida.  My wife and I discouraged USF due to it being too close to home.  If I was being honest, another reason was the lack of student life on (no OCS) and off - no night life or college town shops or restaurants.  You step off campus and you are in suitcase city or temple terrace.

With the AAU status, new dorms, new stadium and the new development that comes with it USF is shaping up to be a near perfect school (I am happy to list why I feel that way).  That is with or without an ACC invite.

Heck yeah! Pretty much spot on. One of the main reasons for me wanting and hoping USF would get an OCS. It should develop and grow the town around USF. Going to be interesting watching it all develop.

This is how I've always felt. I actually live near USF and I hate driving to Ray Jay.  It's a great stadium, no doubt, but it's a professional stadium dedicated to the bucs and we are guests there.

That OCS is going to be great for your GameDay commute now. Looking forward to seeing the town build up around the USF football program which will be very cool.

I want to believe that.  Probably no such thing as a guarantee.  My guess is the big 12 cited that as a reason for not calling us up last time.  Still a gamble, but it worked for the city of st. Pete way back when they built a baseball stadium without a team. USF is too great of a university to not have an on campus stadium, though.  The stadium + AAU is huge game changer for our university.

Well said. Let’s say all these power conferences eventually fall apart and basically college football starts a huge overhaul. I don’t think we see USF being left out of that when that happens. Basically we are probably going to see the P2 cause this major restructuring to happen. The NFL will create the super league which will include about 80 schools which will get basically all the NFL prospects and help develop them for the professionals imo.

It would be quite a shock if arrangements were made to build the stadium without complete confidence in a “move up.”

Bingo! I believe remember you or someone else bringing up this point a while ago which I do believe is a great point. Probably one of the main reasons that I do believe USF is going to be invited to the ACC. Just too many clues going on.

They don't want to pay the price and want to whine about it to get their way . Problem is if fsu or Clemson were in the sec neither have a championship in the last 20 years.  They got In by beating acc schedules not SEC schedules.

Exactly, basically they are chasing the money of the SEC/Big Ten imo. ACC has been good to both FSU & Clemson imo. I hope they leave ASAP as that opens up a spot for USF.
