  1. The only two areas that concerned me, and really need to be shored up are punting, and the running backs.  The stats are deceiving but we need Plancher back and Ponton too.  The other guys are just managable 1-A backs, and Erskin I thought was a joke by our staff.

I am a bit worried about the O-Line as well. Depth and performance. Any youth on the horizon that I don't know about?

  2. Eagles

In addition to Fraley, the Eagles sent fullback Josh Parry to Seattle for an undisclosed pick in the 2008 draft. They also cut veteran wide receivers Jabar Gaffney and Darnerien McCants.

Safety/return specialist J.R. Reed, who cut the back of his knee last year while jumping over a fence and damaged a nerve that affects the use of his lower leg and foot, was released, along with cornerback Matt Ware.

  3. The D was awesome. It took them a quarter (where they didn't give up much) to figure out the offense and then they shut them down. Until Burnetts BIG hit they were playing a little flat - emotionless - but they were still stiffling. I love the defense.

    usfgrad84 you love the D?

  4. The Cowboys reminded me of my beloved Bulls a few years back, except bigger and probably better. Just too much depth on the other sideline. I told my friend as much before the USF burst. Thanks for the good game. Great team, good luck the rest of the year.

  5. smazza, that was just BM's opinion and probably wasn't how CJL saw things. He was the only one that didn't sound exstatic about Grothe playing well.

"Matt did a great job," Leavitt said. "We all saw that."

This sounds like he is begrudgingly admitting it.

At least he is talking to the media again. Last night on the radio CJL was like a Tommy Gun with excuses: Ratta-Young, Tatta-inexperienced, Tat-loyalty! I would have prefered the blackout resuming.

  6. I loved Watson too. I was really nervous until he got the ball and got into the flow.

What was up with  this guy? More "loyalty?"

Last night: ERSKIN,Colby 5-5 and that was a fumble (his) at the goal line. Lucky ruling saved the opportunity for a TD.

  7. I am so excited about the youth on this team that I have to temper my own expectations for these guys.

I'll let you guys gush more about Grothe, its enough to say that he is a QB. Its been a long time since we had one of those. He has touch and he has arm strength and most importantly he knows how to win.

    Playmaker! Great hands!

  8. Wow USF has a QB, a real can throw the ball far and/or with touch QB. I will suffer through any freshman mistakes gladly. I am so happy about this that I cannot put it into words.

"After that my guess is that you will never hear from PJ again. The greatest trick that MG ever pulled was convincing the world PJ did not exist. And like that... he is gone."

    :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

  9. We won and boy am I happy about that.

Young or not, we certainly are well coached. The game went smoothly and with few mental or diciplinary errors to be found, especially on special teams. Who coaches special teams?

I predict a 12-0 season. I am glad that we have finally gotten a handle on the stupid penalties.  Thats what I love about this team, they may make a mistake once but they learn from it and never make it again.

On a serious note, the Bulls have copious speed and talent.
