Congratulations Gators on a good year.

I think what this Gator Championship has to offer is perspective. Kinda the same thing I felt when the Buc won the Super Bowl.

The Gators are the 05-06 college basketball national championship . . . . so? (off the top of your head, who won in 2003) They are still Gators. The world in Gainsville did not end in some orgasmic event, in the end it was just another basketball game. They will get some copius press coverage for about a week and then its spring football time again and the basketball team is second fiddle again.

I think we enjoyed our win against GU as much as most UF fans will enjoy this championship. There are about 30 basketball games a year and 12 football games. When it comes down to it just enjoy each game for what it is and remember that no matter how big/important it feels at the time the feeling, good or bad, will soon pass. It really is the journey not the destination.

I just noticed that today and I thought it was pretty amazing. What ever happened to Gary SJ, Howie, CoolBull, SoCal, Mike G and the rest of the heavy users that used to add interesting content/conversation too?

There used to be enough fans around to make 3 forums work, but now when USF is bigger and better than ever and online blogs are exploding its crickets. Are the majority of posters on the other southfloridabulls forums or have they gone forever? I've missed a lot I guess.

smazza was the only person who responded to my original e-mail and asked how I was doing now. I was impressed. Sorry I didn't respond Steve, still thinking about that question.

Thanks guys, sorry again for the whole fiasco. You have all been magnanimous and I appreciate that tremendously even though I do not deserve it.

Didn't think I would post anything but I had to tell you guys that it meant a lot to me to see the welcoming comments. I will return to lurking now.

Malcolm Glazer

Even amid all the smoke surrounding the potential purchase of the Los Angeles Dodgers by the Glazer family, which owns the Tampa Bay Bucs and would have to make some move with the NFL franchise to come into compliance with league cross-ownership rules, it's still a long shot that the Super Bowl champions will change hands. But adding to the foggy shroud of what might become of the Bucs, should Malcolm Glazer get the Dodgers, is this tidbit: Former San Francisco 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo Jr., who lives in the Tampa area and has long been rumored to be interested in the Bucs, has recently started touching base with some old NFL acquaintances. Word is that DeBartolo, who doesn't have the juice himself to purchase an NFL franchise but certainly could quickly assemble an ownership group, has been polling his friends about whether he could ever be approved to return to the league. DeBartolo knows that, after the Louisiana fiasco in which he attempted to grab a piece of the casino industry and shuffled funds to former Gov. Edwin Edwards, some of the so-called "old guard" NFL owners might never endorse his return. Hey, in the long run, Eddie D. may not be seeking a comeback. But he's certainly seeking opinions from NFL people with whom he was once very close. As for Glazer and the Dodgers, well, NFL officials are keenly aware of his interest in one sport's most high-profile franchises. But those same officials contend that Glazer has not even hinted to them that he is prepared to sell his football team.
