  1. We've given 92 pages to a coach not coming to Tampa - he's not leaving his son and daughter at JSU while he prods off into a new venture (reality).

Hopefully our newest coach gets this type of support from the fanbase... which I doubt truly happens.

  2. I would hope we wouldn't do that to our program presently. Larry Scott is an excellent character guy - however we need W's and we need W's quickly. Larry is not tearing it up at Howard per se. The record speaks for itself unfortunately. I want to see Larry succeed, however he needs to succeed at a lower level first and then work his way up. Why we ever gave Jeff Scott the nod in the first place is still quite confusing as he wasn't even the OC by himself.

  3. Hell would freeze over before Leavitt is hired back here as the HC. Just being honest.

Today’s youth don’t have a clue who Jim Leavitt is - and I’m not sure Leavitt’s style would work with today’s generation anyways - unless you’re talking about a military academy. I remember some former players going back to practices after they finished their time here and they lit into Leavitt in front of the newer players (similar to what you would see with today’s generation via social media).

I would love to see the school take care of Leavitt, however there’s too many bad feelings that have lingered on for far too long. The fact no one else has given Leavitt a shot as a HC just further cements my feeling we would be the last ones to give him another shot. It feels like Stockholm Syndrome on here when I hear his name constantly.

  4. If USF wins tonight, they have undefeated Michigan tomorrow. The winner of that game plays the winner of Baylor-Villanova. Ideally, I would like to see USF undefeated going into the UT game next Friday night in Austin. I have tickets presently and will be taking my daughters (assuming my wife signs off on it).

I agree with you, but I think bringing Jim back is the biggest pipe dream you could consider. Bigger than Deion. But I could be wrong. I never thought we’d see a reality TV star in the White House.  🙂

That reality TV star did wonders for America. Can Trump coach football?

  6. They’re too young to appear on the Girls of Houston page presently - I’m sure those days are coming unfortunately (haha)! We’ll be in the front row of the end zone somewhere near the Houston “H” or “O”. My ETA to the stadium in 10:40 AM CST. Doing 92 mph due to slow traffic in front of me. Hoping to shave some time off so I can have a beer prior to walking in to the stadium. Who will be at the stadium today?

If you have a better opportunity to go somewhere but from a different location than your original airport and your intended destination you take a flight to that place to take the flight you see as better or a better value. In this instance I am going to Detroit because it has a better hard product for my flight to Amsterdam

    This is the answer

Last I flew international (1999), it was free alcohol. You might be drunk by the time you take off for Amsterdam.

  8. Tulane (-12) at South Florida (4 p.m. ET, ESPNU). USF is one of the most confusing teams in the country. The Bulls have lost to two SP+ top-40 teams by a combined seven points, but against three lower-ranked teams they've lost by an average of 29. They have a delightful run game, but Tulane has one of the best run defenses in the Group of 5, and the 5-1 Green Wave should torch USF's shaky pass defense.

I’m sure bringing in Gruden would bold over real well with recruits and current players, especially since our roster is made up of well over 50% of African Americans.

What an amazing take... you're saying we should avoid bringing in a Super Bowl winning coach that players have been watching for years every Sunday (and also during Draft work-ups) because of his one private incident (via witch hunt by the NFL)? I'm pretty sure the players would gravitate to Gruden - as would the parents of players hoping to give their kid a shot at the NFL. If Gruden is a racist, so is almost everyone on this message board as the amount of interactions Gruden has had with minorities over the years is unparalleled compared to most people here.

There's a reason we don't have Mike Leach coaching here (because of some petty BS at Texas Tech that scared away the administration after the Leavitt fiasco). We could have also been in the conversation for Lane Kiffin... but no, that didn't happen because we took the payday from UT to get choirboy Strong off of their hands vice finding a coach that has the ability to win. If you can't win at Texas, you're just not cut out for coaching as they literally roll out the red carpet and unload bags of money at the door for you so you can succeed.

We need a proven head coach (look at the D2 and D3 ranks if need be) that shows a propensity for winning. Co-coordinators are hit and miss. Retreads are hit and miss. Even former players aren't necessarily going to be homeruns. I love Larry Scott, but is Howard really a powerhouse yet? They're 4-14 under Larry Scott.

    Winners find ways to win...

And people wanting Willie back - he can recruit - he demonstrated that based on the amount of players he placed in the NFL. After bouncing from program to program though, has he figured out the little details that make some head coaches the figure head for a university? He had a good thing at USF - and you can't blame him for taking the money at Oregon - however ever since his 7-5 season there, he's been pretty inept in each of the seasons wherever he's coaches. Could he change the mindset back at USF? Who knows? However he'll definitely alienate half of your donor base that was upset when he bounced (and didn't like the culture of the program when he was here originally).

Let Scott finish the season - it's a dumpster fire currently. If he can't turn the corner, fire him at the end of the season quickly so we can get back on the coaching carousel. This also gives Kelly time to find a coach that can win.

On a different note, Scott Frost is available (which goes against everything I said above).

  10. From our view in the end zone (not sure what the cameras on TV showed), the interference call should have been on the UF wide receiver. He was literally pulling on our DB's jersey for a good three to five yards while the ball was in the air. The call should have gone the other way. That call killed us... only to be followed up by the illegal man down field call that was missed that turned into a BS personal foul call when that fat f*** from UF fell. Such BS.
