  1. She can't sign until Friday because the paper work is being mailed from Pearl River to her home.
  2. The addition of Howard is huge. We are only 1 or 2 average players away from being a good team.
  3. The team has played great these last 3 games. Refs won the Marquette game. Coach has them playing very well and should get credit for it. The St. John's game is very important. I don't expect a win at Louisville but we have to be St. John's or there may be no shot at MSG.
  4. McCullum will likely be back because we probably will win 3 or 4 more games this year. Unfortunately a coach in his last year of his contract can't recruit worth a **** because his recruits don't know if he'll be around to coach them. McCullum hasn't been able to recruit anyways so it may not hurt us too much but the odds are he will have a hard time signing anyone worth a darn as evidenced in the early signing period. Jones took a gamble on us. We'll see how it works out. By the way, don't expect too much out of the late signing period.
  5. In my opinion the next USF coach will be Ralph Willard. I prefer Anthony Grant or Steve Lavin.  Who knows who will be available after this season though. FYI - I changed this post because I was incorrect in my initial statement that USF "did not" offer Grant. I've been corrected and apparently they did offer Grant.
  6. DMince - USF could afford to match as a result of Leavitt's last contract negotiation that increase the assistant coaching pool each year. If it was short I'm sure Woolard would've approved it.
  7. maybe too much time was wasted this week complaining and not enough time spent on preparing for Pitt. Jose and the girls got a serious spanking tonight.
  8. No way we lose this game. We may be a bad team but Cincy is absolutely horrible this year.
  9. In my opinion a new coach needs to bring in at least 2,000 extra paying tickets per game. 2,000 * 30 per game * 15 games = $900,000 per year. That will cover the increased cost of the new head coach and a higher pay for his assistants. Can we get a great coach for $750,000 to $1,000,000 per year with a decent paid staff? Not sure about great but definately a good one. The biggest problem may be that the State will only approve a certain base salary level. I don't think we have the booster power to make up the difference to get to a high guaranteed level.
  10. Shoop - if you think I was a Seth supporter you've got the wrong guy.  He lost control of his program here and I was ready for a change 2 years before he left.  As a side note, I've been a big supporter of McCullum until this year and this is the year that I've finally seen enough of it. Daly - Why is Seth winning in the ACC and couldn't in CUSA?  I have no idea but he's having one hell of a season and deserves credit for it.  Seth's run may or may not last but he's had an unbelieveable 6 days of college basketball.  Program changing days if VaTech can take advantage of it.  Meanwhile, we are having yet another embarassing season. The point of the initial post is I simply can't believe that I'd ever say Seth is doing good job and McCullum is doing a bad job. I thought both would be the other way around.
  11. I don't think it's the "program". Seth was in CUSA. He attracted CUSA level players. In the ACC he's getting ACC level players. McCullum is in the Big East and until recently was attracting SunBelt level players. Now he's attracting some CUSA level players and a few Big East level players. McCullum has been plagued by injuries but at the end of the day his poor recruiting is killing him. No depth to speak of.
  12. Never thought I'd say that. Seth hands #5 Duke and #1 UNC losses in less than a 1 week period. We get drilled by 26 against a depleted Louisville team who is on a down year. VaTech scored 94 today.  We played two ranked teams and scored a total of 98 points for the two games. This basketball season can't get over fast enough! With that said, see you there on Sunday. We should all still be supporting our team.
  13. Comprehension has always been a problem with UCFers.....the point is their attitude is holier than thou and they don't want to recognize that anyone else in the world exists except for their "elite" program, however they come those who aren't "equal" to them to better their staff. Well if they are so dame elite and too good for everyone then they shouldn't have to stoop to take from those beneath them. It similar to settling for the ugly fat girl that hangs out with the hot one at a bar.
  14. But I'm sure there will be someone try to take Frey, probably WVU. What amazes me is these programs that think they are "too good" to play BE teams, look down at USF, etc. but they are the first ones to line up and hire our coaches.
  15. Yep. We don't need to fuel the anti-BCS fire. USF is the school who would suffer the most without the BCS.
  16. Screw the BCS? Do you realize how much money the BCS puts in our pockets? The Big East would be $hit without it. Just look at the horrible bowl payout we would've got this year if we didn't have a BCS share to split among the conference members. Rooting against the BCS is about the worse thing a USF fan could do.
  17. Apparently he knew nothing about the game but liked the flashy moments, else he would've said he's got no left hand and can't put the rock on the floor.
  18. I stopped counting at 4 unfourced turnovers while the ball was in his hands, a couple of carries and a travel. Kid just can't put it on the floor and drive.
  19. Truthfully, I thought the UCF fans were horrible until I met the idiots from ECU that I encountered in Birmingham. I've never understood the "smack talk" $hit, but certainly didn't appreciate the level to which they were stooping. Pure ignorance.
  20. Not for me.....one win won't change how poorly we've played this year. It's going to take a lot more than than. Hell, I don't mind losing regularly as long as I see improvement/progress.  I'm appalled by the way we have played against a very soft schedule. If we were consistently improving I would have hope of a turnaround.
  21. It's not the loss that I'm taking hard.....it's the consistently poor play against inferior teams.
