"Meanwhile, PressBox DC's Jim Williams suggested that the ACC's contingency plan will be to add Memphis, Tulane, Wazzu, Oregon State, UConn, and USF to make up for the likely losses of Clemson, FSU, UNC, and whichever other schools leave the conference.

Add WVU to that conference and Cincinnati and the ACC looks pretty good.
B12 can have SDSU, ECU, Navy, Army, AF.
Also, I am assuming Kansas gets pulled into B1G in this scenario.

Rumor: Pac-12 anticipated to pursue expansion very soon
FLYWAREAGLE.COM
Sportskeeda's Farouk Yusuf claimed that the Pac-12 is"Numerous schools from the Group of Five conferences are expected to lobby for considerations in their quest to achieve Power Five status. The league is projected to primarily assess teams from the Mountain West Conference and the American Athletic Conference."
No way Power status is retained in this scenario.

If there are only 8 ACC schools remaining, it is still the top 8.

That is statue worthy compared to some of our other hires.
After CJS, you could literally make statue of all of our previous coaches pointing and laughing at a dejected state of CJS and I think it would fly.

Can someone explain how you win half a game?
At the end of regulation, both teams shake hands and go home without a clear winner.

He never flashed an elite gear like Mack, Battie, or Johnson. He looks a north south runner suited for power runs. I like him, but he isn't an elite back based on what he showed last year here. Maybe he takes his game to another level this year. I like him, but he hasn't been a game changer. Wright reminds me of Cronkite without the extra gear to break it up the middle and take it to the house. He had a solid year no doubt, but it was a big drop off from Battie in terms of production. Keith will probably be an upgrade over Joiner, if he can stay healthy. He seems less injury prone based on production.
Battie
Dude crushed that Alabama player though!

As long as those schools keep UNC happy
Why is UNC the glue that holds the ACC together? I am not understanding this

Or Mike Leach over Holtz.
Those two hires and we likely are in a P5 now.
Usf and it's lack of consistency in hiring good coaches is what has held this program back the most.
We had a shot at Mike Leach over Skip Holtz? Why didn’t that happen?

Yup. So basically ACC is only losing two schools. Probably have a settlement agreement by the end of the summer. Now we will see if & when the ACC invites more schools to stabilize
If only G5 teams are targets:
UConn, USF, Memphis, and Tulane are waiting.
If more westward expansion is needed OSU, WSU, SDSU, maybe CState?
If P4 teams are targeted:
Ok state, TTech, CU

Interesting wonder if he is going to one of his four power5 offers.
PLEASE respect his decision to DECOMMIT from THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA.
I don’t understand why people put all caps emphasis on random words?
At least we are THE University of South Florida.

Tulane too
Forgot about Tulane! Man, could be in the SEC instead they are in the AAC.
SMU getting the death penalty put them in a similar situation.

FSU and Clemson leaving the ACC could be the biggest parting blow to southern college football since Sewanee left the SEC.

What if we'd started a football program in 1980.
Why would that have mattered? Curious as I was not around back then.

What if we hired Lane Kiffin instead of Charlie Strong...
I have thought about this one as well.

Which guy is this?

Just going back to the end of the Charlie Strong era.
what if, instead of hiring Jeff Scott, Kerwin Bell was promoted and Shaun King was made OC?
Listening to The Bay Area Examiner, and apparently KB had recruited Battie and our newest RB that has just transferred to us.
I think maybe the recruiting class doesn’t fall completely apart in this scenario.

Defense came to play that game. I also am understanding that Saban used that as a tuneup game and started a different QB.
We have a non-zero chance of upsetting them.

In that scenario we are already in the ACC.

I mean, technically speaking, you have a non-zero chance of that happening.

This will be the first time since 2020 that we start off against an FCS team. We finally have an easy game to get in rhythm b4 we play the hard teams.
Problem is, in the recent past, we either play up or down to our opponents talent.
