  1. Well I saw enough to say that all three are capable. I like what I saw. I would like to get another rb to add to the room.
  2. To actually go into the fall and have complete confidence in all three QBs!!! The sentiment was not that way last year at this time.
  3. The problem is none of the big schools that are not in the state want to come to Tampa and have 15k people in the stand. Yes it is reality.

  5. Look for 1 more publicized transfers after exams in the next 3 weeks and 2 or 3 camp surprise sightings in fall camp that didn't make the wires.

  7. Positions of need going forward: I would like to see one or two OL come in before fall. One more in the secondary for depth that is big enough to play down low and will tackle. I think Studstill and Smoke Davis will be formidable down low but Davis needs to add weight. I would like to see one or two more running backs added. I'm hoping Griffin will come from Oregon, but would like someone that can emerge as a feature back next year. I like what I saw in Evans at CB and with Sails coming in we should be ok. Maybe the new assistants can fix the special teams.
  8. Macon, Studstill, Burnett all immediately eligible. Hoping Sails will be too. If he isn't he might still have two years left. Could use him this year, but Hampton is capable.
  9. Well how about this... I said look for 4 transfers in the secondary and at least two linebackers. Well look for one more in the secondary and still one more backer. Keep your eyes on a rb with one year of eligibility and one with multiple years of eligibility.
  10. Make no mistake about it, all these transfers are brought in for one reason. #2020AustinTx. Charlie will build a P5 level team by infusing transfers and uping the talent pool. It's hard to recruit here against big programs because of financial limitations. The catch is to keep KB in place for 2 seasons. We have a really good qb room. Usf may become the football equivalent of "1 and done."
  11. Well I guess CCS is showing his prowess to use the portal to immediately upgrade the talent level. I have no problem with all the moves, including staff shake up. https://www.thedailystampede.com/2019/5/4/18529787/cb-kj-sails-announces-intention-to-transfer-to-usf-north-carolina-miami-fau
  12. He was the Juco defensive player of the year. I don't think our current option could have done that. Both backers were in need of an upgrade. Goes back to what was inherited. What is going on with Stacy Kirby?
  13. Well at least we are talking football and not Publix...lol
  14. Patrick Macon .... https://www.hudl.com/video/3/5562186/57d719a111fa7f3bb814b30c
  15. My argument wasn't the 6 game collapse. I said the whole back 7 was bad for the most part. Thomas was just as bad, but he is gone. I also said Roberts and Sanders couldn't tackle and someone decided it was their youth. Mason has been hurt at Osu, but he was brought here to play immediately. If Sanchez was here I doubt if he comes or be asked to come by the staff. I also hope the DT can create havoc and keep the OL off the backers. https://okstate.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4006 6'3 240 lbs. Njcaa player of the year. Injured in 2018 and did not play. If he is healed there is no way that he doesn't start day 1.
  16. My point is all of the middle backers were not very good. He was part of the problem. Mason is being brought in for a reason and not because Sawtelle had an injury. I will stand by my statement that Sawtelle will be third string and special teams. Robert's and Sanders will suffer the same fate. So not just Sawtelle, but a few guys on D will be demoted. SMOKE will get a chance to blitz off the edge from time to time behind Studstill. Davis needs to add 20 lbs., but is fast and a big hitter. Sawtelle was not even close to Sanchez. The transfer portal is the best thing to ever happen to G5.
  17. So you accept the rushing yards in the following games as a standard? GT 419 Ill 212 Elon 192 UConn 322 tulsa 220 ECU 156 If you have accepted this as a standard because we won then we are in big trouble. We had a dang safety playing LB and Sawtelle in the middle. The whole corp needed upgrading and size. I think the right moves were made on the D as a whole, thanks to the portal and emphasis on weight training. The LBs were right there as the worst with the secondary and now both should be night and day different with the help of the transfers and Boyles and Greer stepping up to take the positions on the depth chart along with Mason coming in. Mason will be a day 1 starter along with Studstill. Mason will be like Barnett. I actually think Sawtelle will be 3rd on the depth chart to start the season. CCS will call it injury related, but the fact is that he will be passed over. Roberts and Sanders will have to find some playing time this year. To be honest, I think CCS will keep using to portal to fill the depth chart. We were that low on talent and it's a great way to get some players that have a higher upside on the field. Now...I will say this, taking on Texas next year will be not problem. I like Battle and McCloud. Just need to keep Kerwin Bell in place. Need some RB's to come in next year and another explosive outside receiver. The slot seems really good, but not sure about St. Felix or Roland. I'm looking for a dominant outside guy and not sure if we have one on the roster. The Oline should get fixed by Bell and maybe the portal can fix it. Hobble looked good in the Spring Game. I'm calling the upset against whiskey...I think we will actually have help from the #2 QB to win it. I think the Defense is adequate if we put Studstill at strong safety in the box...Burnette at a corner....and Hampton and Lapointe. I'm all in at 11-2
  18. "Injuries and youth took its toll and Sawtelle does not shoulder any of the blame for last year's defense." Applying the definition of logic. log·ic /ˈläjik/ Learn to pronounce noun 1. reasoning conducted or assessed according to strict principles of validity. "experience is a better guide to this than deductive logic" synonyms: science of reasoning, science of deduction, science of thought, dialectics, argumentation, ratiocination "the study of logic" 2. a system or set of principles underlying the arrangements of elements in a computer or electronic device so as to perform a specified task. If Sawtelle had a significant role in the defense the he must shoulder some of the blame...maybe we were not watching the same defense getting gashed up the middle when Sawtelle routinely took wrong angles and filled the wrong the gaps. With all that being stated, the logic definition stands.
  19. Not good logic...the whole d was terrible and he has a share of it...especially runs up the middle....at least 33% of those. I know you want to blame the coaches, but a lot was on execution.
  20. I'll give you that. However, I think Burnette and Studstill start and there might be one or two more coming in the secondary from the portal. I like Hampton and Lapointe...Sanders and Roberts were scary and maybe need more time. The freshman that came early showed well.
  21. Well if you look at the numbers, Gilbert couldn't shoulder all the blame. Some of you think that the players were great at all positions, but they were not. Back to Sawtelle, he was not very good and was part of the d getting gashed for big runs. After Sawtelle the tackling by the secondary was awful in the open field. I said after the spring game last year that both QBs were not very good and the secondary was garbage. Then got into a discussion about the talent and so many people thought there was lots of talent.
  22. Really??? Oh Sawtelle was not the only player that was horrible on the defense and I have called out what seem to be problem players. It just happens that this guy plays middle LB. As far showing the door...well I see why they have very few posts. I criticize CCS all the time when it's warranted. However, their are plenty of unwarranted criticism of him by guys like you. For example, this roster was loaded. Oh how wrong you were, there was very little talent behind a few bright spots in year 1 and 2. I am glad CCS changed staff and brought in new players.
  23. Our D couldn't stop a high school team last year. If CCS is willing to give him a shot then I'm ok with it. I just hope we can upgrade from Sawtelle. We need bodies and I hope Antontio G. And Mason are the answer. Even Mims could be better.
  24. I'm. gonna give you an insider tip. He is a walk on because the schollies are exhausted and waiting on 2 additional players to transfer after the semester. Someone my be asked to leave the program and he will get the scholly.
