I somewhat agree with you, he is obviously the best we have at the position and there is no reason to bash him like Corey did all last year. How we don’t have someone better to replace him is the real question.
Well that’s where you are wrong. If Roberts or McCloud are in discussion to actually play then you have failed as a staff. There were plenty of players that can play safety in the portal. Actually, a true freshman would be better.

When you lose to ECU .... it’s a coaching problem. When Mccloud is in the conversation... it’s a coaching problem.
However, maybe the school does not have the money to compete at this level.
So now the argument has shifted from the school can win consistently with #Baymade to the program is now devoid of talent?
Tag got lucky with flowers and a few others.... after the first string there it was all downhill. CCS was stubborn and should have been fired. However, getting blown out by ECU is an eye opener on the new coach.

Just deal with the entire state of the program. No money to recruit or facilities. Texas paid Tom Herman to clean up what they thought was CCS mess. They are still awful.

He lost 2 games. Q was a good college qb, no shade there. Well how many conference championships does this program have?
He did beat Mahommes while he was at Texas. LOL

Gatorbull and Corey Lea are kin folk, they don’t like you hatin on Daddy or he maybe he thinks the poo emoji is CCS, I thought the guy was a POS too.
LOL... Blame Charlie for this class. This is Scott's baby now!!! Just like Charlie had to deal with players left here by Willie. You got a new coach so give him time to build his program.

You are blatantly lying. We had to start Freshman and Sophomores because Charlie kicked all of Willie's guys off the team. Do you not remember this?
Very clearly and Willie's guys were not very talented. Chuck did make a mistake with roster management and QB's. Willie left nothing, but a few decent seniors. Just look what he did at FSU and look at the results. Strong should have been fired for his performance and roster management.

Well at least he will have a capable QB throwing to him.

Wasn't Wilcox projected for late round last year? This season killed his prospects as he was rarely ever used. Not sure if Bell or Strong told him he would be used often but whichever one did lied to him big time
Didn't have a qb who could throw it in the ocean while standing on the beach.

No Bulls selected for the 2nd year in a row. Shows you the lack of talent we have had and/or Charlie Strong and his staff's inability to develop them.
His guys were sophomores and freshmen mainly. It shows you had bad the talent was when he got here. Yeah, he had some faults, but you guys still don't get that it was a cesspool of junk when he got here. Most of you don't understand what NFL talent looks like on a college field. Strongs track record everywhere else speaks for itself. You keep acting like this is some football factory. This school has no money for football.

Troll on Nick Roberts for being light and then do us a favor and go away. Your coach was a dried up turd, please join the Bama thread and rejoice that the midget intellectually challenged found a job.
LOL... I blame Strong for offering this kid a scholarship. This kid, along with Roberts, is one of the reasons Strong got fired. Strong is bull headed and got we he deserved.

A swac offensive mvp QB has to be better than what we got last year. I'm much more optimistic about our QB play next year. Fortin, Johnson, McCloud battling would have been a fun spring battle. This will be an interesting race, or a disastrous crash
McCloud will be moved. If he is even remotely in the picture to start then there is no qb worth having.
-
You guys crack me up. So there are rumors floating about Strong as the DC at Michigan State. He dropped the ball here, but this school has high expectations and no resources (or conference championships). Strong screwed the pooch by not getting a capable qb or safety. So he got what he deserved.

Where Q currently is in his career, exposure is invaluable.
Edit: I’m glad Corey is sticking around so he can see what an actual good coach can do for this program.
Lol. The proof will be in the pudding. I just know that he better hit the portal for a few more players.

With the success of Jackson, Wilson and Murray, there is no way that I don't have Flowers on at least the practice squad. Andy Dalton sucked.

**** Corey, you troll Nick hard and not sure why. He is nothing special but does not deserve the shade and not worthy of the criticism, we suck with him and without him. Not sure if you feel he is too light or there is another reason but do us a favor and please exit this board, you are not a fan so go troll another board.
Well I'm pretty sure you are not my dad!!! LOL
The fact still remains, the D needs a safety in the worst kind of way.

Funny joke, but lets not act like we didnt lose mad recruits. Lets also not act like CJS is bringing in a bunch of 4/5 star recruits either. He brought in 4 transfers that didnt get any playing time and a bunch of recruits that was rated lower than CCS recruits. Im actually estatic about the players he brought in, but on paper he hasnt done nothing extravagent. Im happy we have CJS but let the man earn his praise. Also just b/c somebody was a fans of the previous coaches doesnt mean that they hate or dislike CJS.
A realist!!!
However, let him work the portal to get some lineman and should be fine. Oh, he better get a safety or he will be on the hot seat early.
-
Watch out for Vandy getting in on this recruitment.
-
Temper your expectations. He doesn't have the personnel up front to be competent and CJS was not the calling plays at Clemson. He was given the title Co-OC so that Dabo could give him more money for staff continuity. Give him at least until the third year to flush this current turd.

A healthy Nico Sawtelle isnt an improvement over Boyles or Grier this year?? You are such a troll
Well that is my argument. Sawtelle is not good period. Macon made the fan base forget that kid totally. The two young players got better as the season progressed.

I can't fathom how there has been 9 pages of discussion about a topic that is very simple:
Sterlin Gilbert invented new ways to waste homegrown talent.
The Home Grown Talent that had been cherry picked by legit P5 schools went elsewhere . Slick Willie sold you fool's gold on #Baymade. There were a few decent players here and there, but the bulk of the players were division 2 talent. Just look at the mess he left at FSU. Charlie was an idiot for not hitting the portal earlier for OL help. Was even more dumb for playing homegrown McCloud and Roberts. Then he got what he deserved. The new coach is being helped out by KJ Sails who is recruiting real talent from other schools to this dumpster fire.

I'm not sure why it's so commonly agreed upon that even Macon was better than Sawtelle. Macon got tackles, Sawtelle grabbed the ball. Dude keeps being in the right position making plays and winning, and some fans dont think hes good. I'll say it right now, if Nico plays all year, I think we are a bowl team. Hes that impactful for us
Put up your crayons and go to your room. Roberts and Sawtelle on the field at the same time this year, we only win 2. Sawtelle is just that bad too.

I don't think I've ever pulled more for a seemingly obscure player to succeed here than I am for Nick ...
You can pull for him all you want. Might be a heck of a kid. However, he is not a very good football player at this level. This is a business.

Seeing who people actually vote for, maybe the "dont discuss politics" saying is dated. It seems to contribute to close minded belief systems since those beliefs arent being challenged.
Politics is similar to sports in a way that once every 4 years some people just put on a politicians jersey and cheer for them regardless of actually talking through why. It's actually not hard to debate merits of different positions with people while being respectful. We do it here constantly with sports, and this stuff doesnt even matter.
Btw Corey our biggest problem was oline like you said. Nick Roberts is young and improving! Hes a capable rotational guy who could play 50% of the defensive snaps
You can improve in practice, this is a business and this is not the time or place to see what you already know. If you can tell me that he was the best available, then CCS should have been fired the year before. I bet you CJS won't make this same mistake.
