We met the women's golf coach, ERIKA BRENNAN, at the coaches radio show last night. She from Lake Wales and considers Tampa home. She said that this is her dream job and that it is in no way a stepping stone to anything larger. I know that could just be coach speak on all levels, but...
This got me to thinking... Softball Coach Erickson has been here forever, 22 as head coach. WBB Coach Fernandez is at 18 and counting. Cross Country Coach Dena Reif, 8 yrs. Sailing Coach Allison Jolly is at 13 yrs. Women's SOCCER Coach Denise Schilte-Brown is at 12yrs. This season will mark Warren Bye's 12th year as head coach of the University of South Florida track and field team. Volleyball Coach Courtney Draper is at 8 years.
Which brings us to the money coaches.
Also another bit of news that you will hear in the next couple of days. Sorry, I'm sworn to secrecy.
GO BULLS!

Interesting that he was a starter at Duke but hasn't made some kind of noise at USF as yet?? The other guy seems to have majored in Suspension 201. ?? Are they problem children?

Ok first a disclaimer: I am dam glad my team won last night and that we are 6-0. Yep, I was lit up and vocal for a lot of that game watching how inept we seemed to play. I'll need to say three Our Fathers and five Hail Mary's so I don't go to hell in a hand basket....but, we won. I just can't join in with the naysayers on fire this, bad that, doom and gloom. We're 6-0.
Tulsa D.. Anybody else see the head/helmet tackling going on? It was so much more frequent and apparent in this game. Most of their tacklers went head high take downs. Luckily on the one on Barnett he didn't get hurt. Aggressive way to coach for injury.

Wilcox Wilcox Wilcox That guy has really come into his own this season. His hands are great as is his effort and stretch. He doesn't mind laying it on someone either when blocking. Very impressive.

I like to think they respond well to pressure and never give up. They have some talent to be sure-- but the whole shooting themselves in the foot at odd times early in games but very rarely LATE in the games leads me to this line of thinking.
Champion teams have almost no periods of uneven play. Part of it is coaching. Part of it is experience. We are not there yet.
The you have some players that are just winners-- guys like Flowers could will his team to victory-- Grothe did it too-- so did Marquel Blackwell. And others no doubt over the years. Leaders can overcome adversity. We have some leaders on this team but fans might not know who they are exactly. We can't just be getting lucky to pull out these 4th quarter scores.
I agree. CCS refers to focus and prep "not ready to play". Many of the players are young this season. The ability is there at most positions. By the 4th-5th game players should be pretty well peaking out. This game will tell a lot about where we are as a team. Tulsa is no slouch they play hard and fast.

Great to see our USF ranked again in the National spotlight. Hoping we hang on to it maybe it will give the players more incentive...
Lot's of posts have talked about our play this year or lack of it for much of the games. They are a tough read this year. I got thinking about it. Were either a mediocre team just getting lucky to pull off big plays to win or....were a really great/talented team that just lays back for 2-3 quarters matching scores with the opponents( to make them feel competitive) only to kick it in gear the last 15 minutes and pull away/kick butt??? There is the possibility we are only resting during the early quarters???

How many hurricanes actually make it to Tulsa...such a strange name
Hurricane Hurricane Hurricane...? I come on TBP to take a break from prepping for the Hurricane coming this way and ****...the entire post chatter is about Hurricanes!
Possibly Tulsa should have taken the name Tornado's...maybe taking the name Hurricanes could have been a voodoo hoodoo thing? Looking forward to the game Friday if our Dish is still attached to the house.....or vice versa..

I went back and looked at UMass schedule I was shocked to see FIU scored over 60 on them. They weren't bad by any means but I still haven't gotten a read on just how good we are at this point. Now if GT, ILL and ECU go on to kick some butt it helps our cause if...were still winning. I watched part of the UCF game last night. They move it methodically and eat up yards and clock. Their passing game is all over the field. Impressive and evokes worry. Now maybe they lost it in the 2nd half??? haven't looked yet- prob not.

Cronkite kicked some butt now didn't he? Congrats to you young man.

Comment on UMass win...Whew! Thought on Tulsa game...Whoa!
Man, I'd like to see 4 quarters of consistent strong play on both sides of the ball. Also some offensive dominance. We should be showing more growth by now. The wins are great but we look very good then very disjointed.
At some point I'm hopeful it all comes together... Good to win though

I saw the same on Dish. Even if I wanted to give Dish $13 this month for multi-sport (which only adds NESN and Redzone for me) the game is blacked out. Dumb! I will probably try Fubo free trial first, and then sign up for the UMass 24 hour stream if that is no good.
Yep going the UMass route if it poo's the bed it will be the 1940's radio broadcast. Good luck folks..Go Bull's

This looks like a great option if needed. If it's not on MASN on Dish, this is a better option for me than buying the sports pack to get NESN. As long as their stream doesn't suck.
Interesting. Did you contact them about the 24hr option? I just found out the Dish Multi-sport with NESN shows the game as blacked out/unavailable on 434 or 450.

I'm fairly old and never had a school marm that looked like that.
You mean none wore horn rimmed glasses??
Funny, we did have a French teacher( actually looked similar) who was a WW ll war bride brought to the US. I'm sure the nuns thought of her as quite the hussy. Of course the high school boys she had as students thought she had all the correct "intellectual" attributes to be a great teacher. So, 2 years of French later...best hire they ever did in my 4 years there.

Maybe we should consider the TV exposure when we play a team form a different conference. The way I look at it if they don't want us to watch I don't pay to watch.
Good point

Allegedly..( I just love that word) according to Dish. I'll get the game on chan 434 in the Multi Sports w/ red zone pckg?? Hope that's factual. Listings for 6th aren't out yet.

This was a grown man early thirties...He was doing pelvic *thrust , suck it gestures, first down dances, and taking off his shirt licking his nipples taunting usf fans all game. I just found him hilarious and his face was priceless on the interception hat sealed the game.
Guy from NC? Sounds like he could be one of my brothers-in law....? But the nipple licking thing could be new....
