  1. My guess right now would be the "Cure" Bowl vs. whomever in the Sun Belt. What would be really nice for that bowl game is if they played the "Disintegration" album during all timeouts and commercial breaks.
  2. On que they score. Nice. I was wonderingif they should have gone for 2 but don't think it would matter
  3. They need a safety so they can get to 17. Then Willie can play for a tie. Shhh don't tell him they have OT, he's already up past his bedtime
  4. I guarantee you this- whoever has the most points at the end of the 4th quarter is going to win this game.
  5. Hey enough negative talk! Willie and QF are the next Belichek and Brady! Go Bulls Yay #1 awesome #becameateamlastweekturningthecorner
  6. Never refute my.points, just pick out 1 thing I say and attack it. Nobody can stake any claim to why Willie is a good coach. Because he's not. But you'd rather stick w him because. ..well I don't know. If you're watching a movie, and 2/3 of the way thru it sucks, chances are it isn't getting any better. I can't be the eternal optimist, even without all that football knowledge you have in my feeble little mind.
  7. Is it your money? Why are you so concerned with budget? That's what I look for in my athletics dept. "Yeah we suck and are completely irrelevant, but just look at that fiscal responsibility!" I bet you were a big proponent of "giving Skip time to get HIS players in there" too. But let's give Willie 4 more years. By then maybe he can find a soft enough schedule to go 7-5 once. That's the dream, right? That is ABSOLUTELY Willie's ceiling.
  8. Well, i used to set up cones at the USF practice field so I KNOW FOOTBALL BETTER THAN ALL WHO GAZE UPON ME. You know nothing more than anyone else on here. Yeah he's showing signs of improvement, I mean when all you do for 2+ seasons is take dump after dump on the field, anything resembling average football looks better. But it still is bad. If you have been starving to death and someone hands you a can of spam, you'll eat it and maybe think it's great, but its not. I hope he can still get better coaching, he's 39. The point is he isn't very good to begin with. He's in over his head. Maybe he'd be more comfortable at some sun belt.school, or getting back to sniffing Jim Harbaugh's pickle full time.
  9. enjoyable although I was well aware of the quality of the opponent. But after 5 seasons of incompetence coaching I half sit around waiting for the collapse when they are up. Luckily UCONN & Cuse seem to have equally inefficient coaches themselves
  10. Thanks. I'll admit if I'm flat out wrong, which yes, I know happens! And/or someone makes a good argument. I'm not really thrilled if, or when, Tags gets his pink slip, but it hasn't been fun to watch the losing or the bland style of football.
  11. Well so far since I've been here there hasn't been much else to say. Want my positives? OK Tom Allen was a great hire (by harlan) and has the defense playing as well as they have since the Leavitt holdovers were still performing before Holtz's stink got all over everything. Rodney Adams is an exciting playmaker, and yes, they have been wise to try and get him the ball in as many ways as possible, since the passing game isn't really much to see. But again, I get called all sorts of names, don't attack anyone personally myself, but that's fine I guess. I provide reasonable answers as to why I think he's a bad coach. They may not all be right, I don't claim to be all-knowing, but I provide fairly insightful answers, and all I see is "Willie is gunna right the ship" and other cliche' drivel. The talent level is about the same it's always been. Maybe slightly better than the end of the Holtz era (and I bet the same people defending Tags were defending Holtz right up until the end too) so I get tired of the excuses blaming Holtz. He sucked but he's gone. These are Willie's players, this is his guys that he expected to perform in his cheap knockoff Harbaugh system I root for my team. Long term. I root for sustained success. 7-8 years ago this was a program on the rise that it would not have been asinine to expect them to be consistent visitors inside the top 25, a team capable of knocking off nearly anyone on the right day. Now we've been subject to such bad football for so long, people want to bow at the altar of Coach Low T for having this team fall somewhere between "average" and "bottom dweller", when he himself contributed mightily to such low regard for this program. I don't think I need to submit a resume as to my football knowledge, when you all would sit there and give me +1's for just spouting off tard billy crap like "Go Bulls! They's gunna win just CUZ I feelz it!"
  12. Please do. Nobody seems to want to show any X's and O's when it comes to Tags. It's all the players fault, refs fault, mine for killing an angel because I don't believe, etc. And yet my knowledge gets challenged and I make reasonable responses as to why this 1950's game plan doesn't work long term. If I actually was a UCF fan, honestly I'd be suggesting USF lock Willie up long term. I can think of no better outcome if that was my angle.
  13. Explain what you think the game plan was then. I saw a team that got their main options taken away, and did not know how to counter. I also saw a number of overly conservative play calls on 3rd/4th down. That has nothing to do with execution. I also saw an offense, which Taggart invited criticism towards when he assumed all play calling duties, put up 10 points, 7 of which were mostly the result of a punt return. from 4-8 to 6-6 can just be a matter of random variance. Again, on here it's all his genius if they succeed, and all the players fault when they don't. And yet he's made countless more decisions that have proven unsuccessful than he has great moves. The next time he makes a 'gutsy' call in a close game will be the first. It's proven time and time again in game theory that playing games overly risk averse works to a team's detriment rather than helping them succeed. Yet Willie always wants to stand at 17.
  14. Again, on this site, none. If USF wins it's all Taggart's beautiful mind and we are all 'Haterz' for ever doubting his ingenious 8 year plan. And, here comes the negative points! Here are the top excuses if USF (predictably) loses: 1. It's the players fault! (the very players they want to give Tags coach of the year for recruiting, but zero accountability when they look poorly prepared ) 2. If you take away (big plays for the other team, which happen) and (change those to big plays for USF, which are rare) then it's a different game! 3. It's the refs fault! 4. Well, it was close, and that's all that matters! They became a TEAM today that turned the corner! 5. But UCF is worse!
  15. 4-5 Pack your bags 6 (7 with mediocre bowl win)- evaluate at end of season (aka see if anyone else better is interested) 7- Welcome back, but next season no improvement = bye 8- Even I won't complain
  16. Play the front in an "over", try to occupy the OL at the LOS so they can't get to the second level to block, try and take away the FB and the QB and force the ball outside, where, if you are a fast D like USF, you should be able to chase the play down. But they surprisingly got pushed around up front, and looked like they hadn't prepared at all for the upcoming game (a staple of the Tags regime). Yes it can be a bear to stop, but they are a conference foe, so you're gonna have to try and prepare. Can't just gloss over a conference game with "oh noes the option is too hard!"
  17. Has Tagurt recruited better? Yeah but that's not saying much. Skip's recruiting was virtually non existent. But it's not like the next Selvie, JPP, Grothe, Nate Allen, etc has walked thru that door either. At some point, good teams are going to make you coach to beat them. And I've seem nothing, and nobody else can point out a time coaching has tipped the scales in USF'S favor. Superior talent typically has made the difference in the precious few games they have won under Tagerttt. This isn't pros in the 1970's, playing field position game and trying to win 3-0 won't get you far in D1 college game today.
  18. I don't want 6-6. Either win, and become a force in the AAC or get him out. Mediocre in a bad conference isn't really my end goal, but it seems to be Willie's
  19. To be fair I was out of town last week. Probably doing homeless stuff, right 206? Here's an actual point though: Navy obviously saw Flowers go for 200+ and adapted to make him throw today instead of running on "pass" plays. USF, on the other hand, had all week to practice against the option and looked like it was the first time they'd ever seen it. Isn't that coaching, or is that still something something referees kicker bad calls? Still waiting 206.
  20. Good points, I'm open to a fair retort. That guy said 7-5 tho, I was just stating I can't see it. 6-6? Yeah that's doable
  21. I can get down with that. I'm not rooting against them but when Tags tries to sit on leads and plays for 17 every game it's hard to not lay blame on him
  22. Oh 206 still waiting for that degree worthy explanation of why Willie Taggart is a good coach.
  23. He's had 3 years. They haven't gotten much better than they were with Holtz here. So the "it's Holtz fault" excuse doesn't fly anymore. Guess I have to work at Burger King so I gotta go to work huh? Lolz!!! When there's something to root for, I'll root for it. Until then, I hope Harlan is still working back channels to have a plan in place when this guy bumblefarts his way to 5-7
  24. God forbid I want a bad coach fired. I haven't said anything anyone else on here hasn't said. But you eternal optimists on here want nary a word said about your messianic below average coach.
  25. Yeah actually I did, and had season tix up until this season. Do you think USF actually has non alumni fans? He's a bad coach. I've seen enough. If you want to give him 5 years whatever. I have no desire to watch this guy try and win games 13-7 in a college environment where high octane offenses rule the day. It's boring, gutless football. But you can't defend that. You just say im stupid or not a real fan or whatever. Maybe put that mass com degree to use and come up with some educated retort as to how Willie Taggart is a good coach. Go on, I'll wait. Un-cup Willie's hairy bean bag for 2 minutes to give me some sort of actual evidence that he's a good coach
