  1. Excuses are for losers. Well played game where the most disciplined team won at the end.
  2. Lack of discipline on the personal foul penalty. Didn't see the officiating as any impact on the game. Missed field goals, lack of running offense and the inability to stop Navy run game lost the game. Blaming refs is for losers.
  3. First five rows can be tough to see the one corner of the field because of players lined up on the sideline but other than that you should be fine, but even that is very limited area that will cause a problem. Bring sun glasses because when looking straight across the field you will be looking straight into the sun that time of the year. I have only been to one noon game there in my life, I think one was air force on national tv. Normal game time for Navy games was always 3:30 and all were televised, I see this year they have a couple noon games.
  4. The visiting tickets usually went to sections 32 , 132, 25, 125. 32 and 25 would be the lower level of the stadium around the 10 yard lines, 32 is kind of cool because that is near the section where the mids march onto the field so they march out past you on their way to the formation on the field. 132 and 125 are the second levels right above 32 and 25. In addition if you are in 32 USF will come out of the tunnel past you to get to the bench if you are looking to cheer them on prior to the game. Not sure if USF does the alma mater after the game (new to the USF area) , but when game is over Navy players will stand behind your players if they do so at the end of the game. Winner sings second, Navy will will go over to the Brigade of Midshipmen when it is their turn. I am not going this year as I am on vacation and have seen nearly 50 games there but I would try for section 32 or 31 if you can get them. Once you get out of that area you will be in the middle of Navy season ticket holders
  5. Navy does the opposite. The entire brigade once they have marched into the stadium and are in formation will about face all together and rather quietly say "Go South Florida" than tip their hats to the visiting fans. Than they will about face again and in unison and much louder chant N-A-V-Y go Navy win.
  6. I am a previous season ticket holder at Navy and during my years there we hosted and took friends to many games. First off they all loved Annapolis as we always stayed in DTA, we took everyone to see USNA, eat and drink in the downtown pubs and walked around the shops and down to the water. I always thought Navy fans were very hospitable and certainly not confrontational but quite honestly the crowd is not loud. I have also been a season ticket holder at another eastern university and have visited several other campuses for games and would tell you if you havent been to a service academy game, do it once in your life because it is a different experience. It is not going to be SEC football, nor is it going to be that type of crazy football centric atmosphere. The people want to see Navy win but many are there to see members of their class that quite literally went to fifty different corners of the world the day after graduation/commissioning, others are parents that are there to visit their midshipmen who some many only get to see for a half hour during halftime, while others are contemplating the fate of where their kids are headed next. And finally many of the plebe and youngster class are rooting hard for a win because it usally is accompanied by an overnight pass away from USNA which is a valuable reward to a plebe. I think that is why some times it appears that Navy fans are indifferent to the game, it is a matter of perspective.
  7. If you have never been to a game in Annapolis and are undecided go to the Navy game. Much better town to visit, unfortunately getting a downtown hotel will be difficult (Marriott Waterfront, Loews, O'Callahan, and to some extent the Westin) are often booked well in advance and expensive but worth the money. But if not there are hotels a couple miles away on the highway. Great town, good bars and restaurants, game day atmosphere with the midshipmen march on, flyovers, etc and it is the most polite fans around so you will not feel unwelcome, usually quite the contrary. Every seat in the stadium (with the exception of where the Midshipmen are located) are actual comfortable seats. Do bring sunglasses because for the first half you will be staring into the sun. If you have never been there go the day before or early morning and tour the U.S. Naval Academy. My favorite small city (city is stretching it) on the East Coast.
